It's actually a good sign right? They think they have a quality record and they dont care if Adele's release is just two weeks before theirs...

Even if there is no single tomorrow or next friday we're getting a new Coldplay album in 35 days, we are finally seeing a light at the end of this horrendous and continuously dissapointing tunnel!

I was totally ready to give up all expectations that we would be getting something this year but now i'm sooooo excited again :D also, i really liked the artwork...

Right, actually now i'm thinking that we might the single in december, not the album as we previously thought, maybe two or three weeks after Adele's release, i'm thinking single in december and album in january or february...

I think that these 2 new "developments" (Rik's tweet and Jonny's maybe) should be enough to cool us down a little bit, i was just as excited and anxious as anyone else here but now im pretty sure that we're not getting anything new in October, actually i think that we'll get the new single until after Adele fever has calmed down :(

^ In short, it says that AHFOD (i guess it refers to the song) is prodigious and amazing and has wowed everyone who has listened to it and it also says that the album contains at least 5 Chris Martin-style anthems fit for stadium singalongs. Besides that, it only rehashes rumours we've already heard (the Merry Clayton collab, etc, etc)

You're quite the self-righteous type, aren´t you? Always telling people how to act like proper fans and stuff... anyway, I don't think we´re acting like spoiled brats because there's obviously stuff going on and we' re being kept out of the loop entirely, if all had been silent on the Coldplay front for the past 10 months since Chris revealed the title, none of us would be complaining now but there have been developments these past few weeks (the video shoot, new on-stage details, the whole Indian culture theme, Amazing Day) and they aren't giving us ANYTHING on social media like other groups do, we are being shut out entirely and I think that's the wrong way to go, you have to keep you fan base engaged and in the know to a certain extent, i'm not saying they should ask us what the tracklist should be or let us pick the album art but hey, is a Roadie 42 blog too much to ask for? a tweet saying that they're close to finishing the album or that they are done with it? Hell, i would settle for a picture of the band in the studio, that way we would know that the album is NOT finished yet and we would be more patient but they give us nothing and that makes me (and clearly not just me but a lot of other Coldplayers here too) anxious and desperate and there is nothing wrong with that, i think it's a natural reaction for us Coldplay-obsessed folk, i wish I could be as stoic and carefree as you, i really do...

I know it's all mostly self-inflicted stress and dissapointment but still, they played a new song, they're obviously aware that the pictures from the video shoot got out and that we all saw them, why cant they give us anything official? It frustrates me to see them tweet about literally every damn topic except AHFOD...

So, assuming the expected -rumoured- release date is in december, do you guys think Adele's announcement affects those plans?

I know i laughed when i read that U2 have shown more creativity in one album than Coldplay have done in a career, if someone said that about Radiohead there'd be no way to argue but U2? I'm gonna go ahead and assume that you're a U2 fan but that's a bit of an overstatement dont you think?

Rik has confirmed it on his Twitter account, he still calls it AHFOD whenever he's refering to the new album so the title is pretty much confirmed...

Does anybody else feel that the band knows that we're craving some official info about AHFOD or a new single and that is why they've been tweeting a lot lately? To tease us and make our hearts skip a beat whenever we see that "@Coldplay just tweeted" notification...

I really dont mean to be rude or anything but I think ov3la definitely duped all of us on purpose, there is a BIG difference between 'a couple of days' and sometime in the upcoming month which hadn't even started yet when he posted, plus he read all of the escalating excitement and hype building up in the thread and didnt say anything to clarify his initial statement :( i was really hoping we'd get something tomorrow...

Im trying real hard to convince myself that i should not get my hopes up but i don't think it's working, i'm actually pretty excited for friday to come...

I think it will be on LP7, i know they've said again and again that the record will be poppy and cheerful but they cant all be jumpy songs, Amazing Day fits in with the description of the album that we know and maybe it'll be a mellow break between all the dancey songs...

I see how it can be divisive but i dont think its a bad song at all, i just hope they dont screw up the studio version...

What happened yesterday? Was this a war zone after the song was played?

After listening to it approximately 1,389 times in the past 40 or so hours i've come to the conclussion that i like this song a lot, i know its not the flashy dancey song that we were all expecting from the Mumbai shoot but its really pleasant and uplifting, the lyrics may be a bit basic but i dug them and that chorus near the end is gonna make one hell of a singalong at their shows :)

Don't want to get my hopes too far up but this is definitely promising :)

I'm getting the escalating feeling that we wont hear anything new today :( all the buildup and the hype have been created by us because we follow the band's news and sightings obsessively but the majority of the people that will watch the festival dont know about the video shoot and the band themselves haven't purposefully given us anything new, no tweets, no news leaks, no nothing. I think we'll just have to wait until october to hear the new single.

What if they don't play the new song on friday? I remember that Phil tweeted about them playing new songs at the iTunes festival before GS was released but now all we're getting is silence, i'm starting to think that they'll just play the hits on friday and make us wait until october. I really hope i'm just being a pessimist and i'm wrong.
