  1. When i was 15, i heard Yellow for the first time and i fell in love with everything about that song, the lyrics, his voice, the music, the video, it just fit into that stage of my life perfectly, it's been my favourite song ever since and after i bought Parachutes, they became my favourite band, that was 11 years ago :)
  2. I have to respectfully disagree, i'm as true a fan as they come but i don't think that everything they put out there is 'their best', for example, i don't like 'Twisted Logic' and i think 'A Whisper' is a mundane song. I could agree with the fact that their most pedestrian songs are better than most of the popular songs out there but not everything they record is golden...
  3. It's one of my favourite Coldplay songs and, in my opinion, one of X&Y's stand-out tracks. I know that X&Y is Coldplay's most maligned record but it has some really great songs on it and 'Low' is one of them :)
  4. When i first read the title of this post i thought it was just a knee-jerk reaction to a really good song but now that the dust has settled, i really do think that Charlie Brown is the perfect Coldplay song. It has everything a Coldplay song should have: it's catchy as hell, it looks and sounds amazing live, Chris' voice is perfect in it, the lyrics are some of their best and that ending suits it wonderfully... i think it just might be their best song ever :)
  5. Parachutes Your skin, oh yeah your skin and bones Turn into something beautiful You know... you know i love you so (plus all of 'Sparks' lyrics) AROBTTH I came here with a load and it feels so much lighter since i met you Honey you should know that i could never go on without you X&Y All you ever wanted was love but you never looked hard enough It's never gonna give itself up All you ever wanted to be, living in perfect symmetry Nothing is as down or as up as us VLVODAAHF The sky could be blue, i don't mind Without you it's a waste of time Mylo Xyloto Light a fire A fire, a spark Light a flame in my heart we'll run wild We'll be glowing in the dark :)
  6. I love this song so much :) i'm really glad they chose it as the next single after the 'Paradise' screw-up
  7. Creo que este disco tiene más potencial para un DVD que VLVODAAHF, las canciones suenan mejor en vivo, como ejemplo Charlie Brown y Hurts Like Heaven :) I think this album has a greater live DVD potential than VLVODAAHF did because almost all of these songs sound better live than they do on record, for example Charlie Brown or Hurts Like Heaven :)
  8. This is the stupidest thread i've seen in this forum and i've been here for more than 6 years :)
  9. Round 1: Hurts Like Heaven Round 2: Shiver Round 3: Charlie Brown Round 4: Sparks Round 5: Yellow Round 6: Daylight Round 7: Green Eyes Round 8: Warning Sign Round 9: Strawberry Swing Round 10: A Hopeful Transmission + Don't Let It Break Your Heart Round 11: Amsterdam Round 12: (See You Soon) Round 13: Til Kingdom Come A Rush Of Blood To The Head 5 Mylo Xyloto 3 Parachutes 3 Viva La Vida 1 X&Y 1
  10. ^ Maybe, i don't really know that much about the technicisms of music so i wouldn't be able to give an informed opinion on that matter but i think that, as far as classic Coldplay songs go, there is no topping AROBTTH :)
  11. I really don't get why people say that VLVODAAHF is their masterpiece, it's a really good record with a couple of amazing songs on it but, in my opinion, it's far from being a masterpiece. As much as i like MX, if i had to name a masterpiece of theirs, it would definitely be AROBTTH
  12. MX/Hurts Like Heaven... it defines the rest of the record :)
  13. For me, it would definitely be Sparks
  14. It's been a grower for me and now i like it a lot :)
  15. I just posted this on another thread.. i really liked the Viva La Vida era cause i got to see them twice in Mexico City and they were the best concerts i've ever been to but i felt the whole era was sort of depressing, or maybe not depressive but grim, with the exception of Strawberry Swing (the song and the video) and Lovers In Japan (the butterflies are definitely in my top 3 gig moments ever) but everything else just felt dark, also Viva La Vida (the song) was brutally overplayed and i ended up getting sick of it... this era, on the contrary, is so upbeat, they seem and sound so happy and it just rubs off on me, i'm loving it. It's too early to judge the concerts cause i haven't seen them live with the MX show yet but i know one thing, when i do get to see them live, i'll be wearing a diaper, otherwise something really bad will happen during Hurts Like Heaven and during Charlie Brown, they sound massive live and if they play DLIBYH i'll die a happy man :)
  16. I also LOVE this era :D i loved the Viva La Vida era cause i got to see them twice in Mexico City and they were the best concerts i've ever been to but i felt the whole era was sort of depressing, or maybe not depressive but grim, with the exception of Strawberry Swing (the song and the video) and Lovers In Japan (the butterflies are definitely in my top 3 gig moments ever) but everything else just felt dark, also Viva La Vida (the song) was brutally overplayed and i ended up getting sick of it... this era, on the contrary, is so upbeat, they seem and sound so happy and it just rubs off on me, i'm loving it
  17. Parachutes: Yellow & Sparks (sorry, i couldn't pick one) AROBTTH: Warning Sign & Daylight X&Y: Square One VLVODAAHF: Strawberry Swing Prospekt's March: Lovers In Japan (Osaka Sun Mix) Mylo Xyloto: Three-way tie between HLH, Charlie Brown and UATW
  18. I'm with you, i don't get all the hate that this era is getting. I love the album and absolutely, definitely adore MX/Hurts Llike Heaven and Charlie Brown, they are both great on the record and they sound massive live so my mouth is watering for the next Coldplay concerts in Mexico. Apart from those two songs, which are already Coldplay classics in my book, i think the album is nearly perfect, it mixes balls-out rockers like DLIBYH with sweet ballads like UATW and i think it's a perfect blend of songs which, in my humble opinion, Viva La Vida didn't achieve.
  19. I really liked your version, could you upload it somewhere so that i can replace the MX version with yours? Thanks, great job :)
  20. I do think that Charlie Brown along with Hurts Like Heaven and Strawberry Swing are the best songs from this past two eras and the best songs they've put out since Square One :)
  21. Charlie Brown MX/Hurts Like Heaven Us Against The World/Up With The Birds AHT/DLIBYH/Princess Of China/Up In Flames M.M.I.X/ETIAW/UFO/Major Minus/Paradise
  22. Can anyone PM me a link pleeeease? i really suck at these leak things, i promise i'll still buy the album :)
  23. I voted for VLVODAAHF because it's a great album but it doesn't have any songs that i consistently 'crave', so to speak... Parachutes has Yellow which is my absolute favourite of all time and Sparks and Shiver and Don't Panic, songs that i regurarly go back to AROBTTH is a terrific album all around, not three days go by without me listening to Daylight, Warning Sign or GPASUYF X&Y, with all it's flaws, still has some great songs like Square One, Low or The Hardest Part VLVODAAHF has some great tunes but i just don't feel drawn to it as i do with the other albums, i listen to Life In Technicolor and Strawberry Swing regurarly, though MX is shaping up to be my favourite Coldplay album now that the dust has settled and the rush of excitement has somewhat subsided, it's great as an album (it's so good that it even makes Paradise work) and it has some of their best songs yet, HLH and Charlie Brown are shaping up to be Coldplay classics and other songs like UATW and DLIBYH are shaping up to be underrated gems in the vein of Daylight, See You Soon or Warning Sign Sorry for the long post :)
  24. Not their best song ever (for me, that's Yellow) but it's a damn good song, one of their top 5 :)
  25. See You Soon Sparks High Speed Amsterdam Daylight Low Proof I Ran Away A Spell A Rebel Yell Warning Sign Strawberry Swing
