  1. I'd very much appreciate it if you could send me a link via PM, I live in Mexico so I won't have the chance to listen to it on an official release for quite some time :(
  2. Updated top 5 after 9,689,724 (give or take) album playthroughs: 1. Èkó 2. Arabesque 3. Cry Cry Cry 4. Church 5. Trouble In Town I know a lot of people didn't like Church because of Stargate's production but I think it's a great upbeat Coldplay song, definitely better than most songs on AHFOD.
  3. After 6 or so playthroughs, my top 5 is: Eko Champion of the World Trouble In Town Arabesque Orphans
  4. Joseph rode in on a beam of light Dreamt of his queen by his side There'll be a beautiful sunset And you'll be a beautiful bride That song is just perfect
  5. Eko is SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL, it actually took my breath away when I played it for the second time :sob:
  6. My feelings exactly, of course I don't mind important people shining a spotlight on important issues but I listen to music to sort of get away from politics, violence and those sort of things that surround us in every day life :yum I just hope it's not all as in-your-face as this snippet from Guns...
  7. You're quite right, I like Violet Hill a lot, maybe because it has these romantic parts mixed in along with all the political stuff :)
  8. Just as I "feared", this is shaping up to be a really political album, not that that's a bad thing per se, it's just that I don't really like the only mildly political song that the band has ever done (Twisted Logic) so I don't know if that's a good omen for me and this album. (I really, reeeeally dug Orphans, Arabesque and Everyday Life, though)

  10. What do you mean they didn't sing that?
  11. So, I haven't been really active in the forum for quite some time but here's my quick take on the EP: I absolutely LOVED it. It's both a return to form that should please Oldplayers and a fine tuning of the poprock modern Coldplay that is bound to make new fans happy. AICTAIY is a great, X&Y-era sounding song, the piano crescendo and sonic explosion that starts around the 2:40 mark is terrific, Jonny and Guy shine in this song and Chris' voice sounds really good, it's great. Miracles (Someone Special) is, along with Birds, my favourite song of the past 2 eras. A magnificent and really uplifting fusion of the original Miracles, Strawberry Swing and the synths from A Spell, A Rebel Yell, had the lyrics been more on the romantic side and not so much on the 'you can do anything you set your mind to, believe in yourself' it might've been one of my favourite Coldplay tracks ever. A L I E N S I didn't like so much at first but it has really grown on me, the chorus is great and the lyrics are really good, giving undocumented inmigrants a voice. SJLT Tokyo Remix is a waste of space in this EP, the normal version was OK and if they wanted to re-do the song to make it more Coldplay-sounding then they should've re-recorded a new studio version of it, not put out this cluttered sounding. awful live version. Hypnotised is one of the best ballads they've ever put out, IMO and a great ending to the EP. That's my two cents, also, I really don't think that they're separating as a band, my guess is that they'll take a 2-3 year break, a little longer than usual, and then they'll come back with an amazing album having moved past the midlife band crisis that they're experiencing now.
  12. Hi, guys! This has nothing to do with Miracles (Someone Special ) but here it goes... a few years ago, they released ASFOS on this Rhythms Del Mundo album and I really, really want to listen to that version of the song again, the only problem is that I can't find it anywhere, it's not on Spotify, iTunes Store, YouTube or anywhere else, there used to be a page where you could buy the album or the songs individually, I bought ASFOS off of that album back in the day but my old laptop died so I don't have the downloaded song anymore... can anyone help me out with this? I really want to listen to that version of the song again, thanks in advance to any kind Coldplayer who takes pity on me :) PS: I loved Miracles (Someone Special), it's one of the best 'new pop-rock era' Coldplay songs IMO.

  14. Do we have a lyrics thread for this song already? They sound like beautiful lyrics but I can't make up a lot of parts :/
  15. When the tour started, I posted that I didn't like the new setlist, that it felt too short and as if something was missing but after attending the three Mexico City shows I can safely say what I was very wrong, it's a great setlist. Perhaps I would replace Heroes with a VLV song (Strawberry Swing or Violet Hill), I hope this happens when the David Bowie fever passes and maybe (and this may be a controversial opinion) I would replace Clocks with In My Place or another X&Y song but, apart from that, it's great show and the song request idea is phenomenal, thanks to that I got to hear In My Place, Parachutes/Shiver and The Hardest Part, they also played See You Soon on the first night which was awesome. It is a really great, fun show, I hope you guys in Europe and in the US enjoy it and I hope they go to a lot of new places that they haven't visited yet.
  16. I have mixed feelings about this setlist, its cool and refreshing to hear Politik instead of In My Place for example but I still think its short given all the good songs they have under their belts now... also, they have so many good songs now and they waste one of the precious 20 or 21 songs on a cover?!? This was cool in 2006 with Ring of Fire but now it feels wrong IMO Sent from my SM-G925I using Coldplaying mobile app
  17. I actually liked the setlist and I'm ok with them leaving out The Scientist (I've heard it live 4 times now) but for example I don't like that the Bowie cover takes up space in an already short setlist and I think they should play at least 20 or 21 songs, they have 6LPs now, they have more than enough material draw from...
  18. I just tweeted at the Band to say that i find it really disappointing that they only play 19 songs (and only 18 of their songs), that's the same length as their 2010 set (the last time that they came to Mexico) and they have 3 more records now, even the Rolling Stones who are 150 years old played 19 songs here two weeks ago. You guys should start tweeting at them to see if we can get through to them
  19. Chicos, por favor manténganos informados el jueves en la noche para saber setlist y detalles del show, disfrútenlo muchísimo! :) You guys, please keep us updated come thursday night so we can know the setlist and details of the show, enjoy yourselves! :)
  20. Here's a nice summary of the backlash that you guys were talking about... http://www.buzzfeed.com/sahilrizwan/coldplay-and-beyonces-new-music-video-is-under-fire-for-appr?bffbmain&utm_term=4ldqpgp#.iuMAz20zW
  21. That's the video I had been hoping for since the MX days, easily my favorite since the Charlie Brown video, it is fucking amazing! :D

  23. ^ It's all guesswork based on their previous two big tours...
  24. Knowing what songs they are most likely to play, my ideal 22 song setlist would be: 1. AHFOD 2. Yellow 3. Charlie Brown 4. Magic 5. In My Place 6. Army of One 7. Birds 8. AOAL 9. Clocks 10. UATW 11. Sparks (or Trouble) 12. Everglow 13. O 14. Viva 15. HFTW 16. Fun 17. Fix You 18. ASFOS 19. Paradise 20. The Scientist 21. Lovers in Japan (or GPSUYF) 22. Up&Up
