  1. Just goes to show how bad these new Coldplay tunes are. They are reaching Neutron Star Collision levels of badness. :(
  2. You replied to Hicksy's topic in The World Of Music
Why are they in every DBZ video?

  6. I always respected how Chris Martin and people like Guy Garvey from Elbow were honest in admitting that they were influenced by Radiohead. I remember when Muse used to flip flop on the whole Radiohead issue back in the days. They almost seemed ashamed of admitting it for some reason. They seem to be slightly mature about it now. Like in this interview where Muse's bassist mentions Radiohead being an influence to Muse: I wonder if they picked that movie because In Rainbows=Radiohead's 7th album
  7. Ed O'Brien from Radiohead talks about U2 and the whole ''conquering the world'' mentality of these type of bands in this video interview: Ed: 'We've always liked the indie side of things ..we are very much into the honor of selling fewer records and not whoring yourself out. It's bullshit really you know... but its just the way that we are''
  8. and just like that I don't remember a single thing from last nights Grammy's. Thank you Radiohead :)

  10. AROBTTH has some songs that sound pretty Radiohead influenced. In My Place for example sounds very similar to Radiohead's High and Dry. Even the album title ''A Rush of Blood to the Head'' seems like a mini tribute to Radiohead's second album The Bends. The title ''The Bends'' is referring to the sickness deep sea divers experience when they rise up too fast. It's basically Decompression Sickness which according to wikipedia ''occurs when nitrogen bubbles in the blood lodge in certain parts of the body''. X&Y also has a few songs that are Radiohead influenced. Like the lyrics to Twisted Logic which are very similar to Radiohead's Electioneering. (found in OK Computer..the same album Martin mentions giving his left ball for) -TL- You go backwards but then you go forwards again You go backwards but then you go forwards You go backwards but then you go forwards again You go backwards but then you go forwards -Electioneering- When I go forwards you go backwards and somewhere we will meet. When I go forwards you go backwards and somewhere we will meet.
  11. Radiohead's been doing this type of stuff since 1997.
  12. ''Although her ex-husband is the Black Crowes' Chris Robinson and her current beau is Muse frontman Matthew Bellamy, Kate Hudson failed to seduce one notable musician: Radiohead's Thom Yorke.'' http://www.usmagazine.com/celebritynews/news/kate-hudson-rejected-by-radioheads-thom-yorke-2010176 The whole Muse copied Radiohead thing is taken to another level with this shocking news lol
  13. We need to get Thom, Matt and Chris on the Maury Show and have Thom Yorke take a paternity test. The world needs to know the truth. I can just imagine Thom Yorke storming off stage after hearing Maury say ''You are the father!'' with a camera shot of Matt and Chris hugging each other with tears in their eyes.

  16. You almost sound ashamed of the possibility of Muse sounding like early Radiohead. Why is that? There's nothing wrong with sounding like Radiohead or being influenced by them. To deny the obvious influences just makes you come across as some blind fanboy. Now if someone were to say ''Muse are ripping off Radiohead'' , then I would understand you being annoyed by that, as that statement is pretty off base. Anyways, here's a few examples where you can see some of the influences(keep in mind, I'm not saying these are identical...but if you listen carefully you'll see some similarities) YouTube- Muse - Citizen Erased (similar song structure) YouTube- [Muse] Hyper Chondriac Music YouTube- Muse - Twin YouTube- Radiohead-My Iron Lung (Twin's bassline sounds strangely similar to My Iron Lung's) Glorious has some lyrics that are found on My Iron Lung Glorious ''Faith, it drives me away But it turns me on Like a strangers love' My Iron Lung ''Faith, you're driving me away You do it everyday You don't mean it But it hurts like hell l'' YouTube- Muse - Fury Some other Muse songs that sound like Radiohead: Pink Ego Box Con-Science Host Falling Down Map Of Your Head=radiohead ish lyrics Sober Fillip Unintended<--considered by many to be the most blatant Sunburn Here are some Radiohead songs that usually get mislabeled on youtube, often confused as Muse songs: YouTube- Radiohead - The Trickster, Lewis (Mistreated)... YouTube- Radiohead - Pearly YouTube- Radiohead Creep Acoustic Flash examples of a couple mislabeled songs: This twilight fan(bless her heart) believes The Trickster was written by Muse: and the famous Creep acoustic, which people swear was done by Muse YouTube- Radiohead/muse-creep w/lyrics
  17. The Guardian names Radiohead best band of the decade. Also includes an interview with Colin. http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2009/nov/29/radiohead-interview
  18. A Rush of Blood to the Head is a good album, but I think its unfair to compare that album to The Bends, which is considered by many music enthusiasts to be a masterpiece. There's a reason why you see The Bends in most best of all time lists or in musicians best ever lists, because it really is that good of an album..one that has influenced many. In my opinion, A Rush of Blood to the Head is a slight step back in quality compared to Parachutes. Where as, The Bends was a massive leap forward for Radiohead compared to Pablo Honey. Also lets be honest here, if this very same question was asked on a non-Coldplay forum The Bends would win easily. Personally, I find The Bends to be a superior album in every way. It has better vocals, lyrics, guitar work, drumming/bass and song writing. Just for fun, try listening to both albums on winamp(or any other music player) with the tracks sequenced one after the other like this: Politik Planet Telex In My Place The Bends God Put a Smile upon Your Face High and Dry The Scientist Fake Plastic Trees Clocks Bones Daylight Nice Dream Green Eyes Just Warning Sign My Iron Lung A Whisper Bulletproof..I Wish I was A Rush of Blood to the Head Blackstar Amsterdam Sulk Street Spirit
  19. Sounding like early Radiohead on those first two Muse records isn't exactly original. I think part of the problem is the way people approach Muse's music expecting something deep, when in reality Muse just makes music for ''fun'' and for entertainment purposes. Their target audience is the 13-16 age group, a group that prefers riffs and bombast over depth and subtlety. I find myself enjoying Muse more when I treat the music as catchy for the moment music. Something you can just easily pop in and not really think much about.
