I love when people are so crazily pro-American. Like "This is the only country where you can talk and not get shot!" actually... it's not. It's probably the least free speech place in the whole western hemisphere. (God, I worded that weird...? LOL) Yes, there are horrible places in this world. And we do have liberties that they don't, and I'm thankful for that. But hell, I've been places in the world that aren't that different from America in terms of freedoms. To me, this place ain't that special where I'd die for it, or pledge my allegiance everyday to it. Too bad more of the country doesn't feel this way. Oh well.

Hey Gareth, I like your new avi! :) I just don't know why people think that you need to KNOW someone personally in order to have a justified opinion. I have read articles, upon articles, detailed descriptions of the war, studied our history in the Middle East, our views towards terrorism, all of that. I've listened to the soldiers, and I've listened to the activists. I have been on BOTH sides. 3 years age(I actually think it was 4 now, I don't know I like to put it behind me) I was pro-Bush. Pro-war. Semi anti-gay. Pro-guns. Everything. I bought every last shitty lie Georgey told me. I believed them all when they talked about WMDs. I defended them much like this person did in this thread whenever someone came against me. I don't know what happened, but then I watched shock and awe on television and something started to change. I was thinking of just all the people who could have been hit without a reason, their houses/temples/hospitals targetted by "accident". And I started thinking "I'm going to start researching this instead of just listening to what my government tells me". So I did. And I decided that Iraq was NOT connected to 9/11. Did not have WMDs. Before the entire country found out that they didn't. I became a staunch liberal then. Then I became a socialist, last year. I still have that in me, to a certain extent. I still love Marx, ;). But I'm done with that now. I know what I believe, and I believe it's right. Hell, I'm entitled to think I'm right and everyone's wrong. And you're entitled to think I'm wrong, but hell. You're wrong! And I swear if we go to Iran... I will raise such a fuckin' stink you could smell it in China. I'm so sick of war, it's unbelievable. So think twice before you call me close minded. I don't think there's many people who've gone through such a kaleidoscope of politics like me.

I really am done with this. If no one has noticed, the official pictures of Moses are up and there is hope in the world again! LOL! So no more discussing. Frankly, I thank you both. Marisa, for helping me out and supporting me, because this was the most trying couple hours I have ever spent online. I want you to stay so I can keep my despair for the future validated. I personally think that a feeling of disregard for human life is simply that, a total disregard for human life. Except for when it suits you. It's simply hypocritical to say "Oh yeah, we should save those people with AIDS". But then be like "But that little baby deserves to have a deformed head because my father made a CHOICE to go into military service." That child didn't make a choice to be born where it was. Just because you're the spawn of a military man doesn't give you the right to choose who deserves to live and die at your whims. Oh no, I wasn't trying to do it. Believe me, comparing Coldplay to U2 for me drives me absolutely INSANE. I just know that a lot of people do that, including the media. It was just something random that popped into my head. And frankly, I have never heard much of Radiohead in Coldplay at ALL. :thinking: Go figure. I COMPLETELY respect your opinions. I listen more to their earlier stuff to the new stuff, but they've still got me hooked no matter what they do. I guess I just expected something different, and I wanted it. I can never stay still, and those albums will always be there for me to enjoy. I think the next album should definately have much more acoustic, and more solo piano! That'd be really good.
