  1. They said on the show last night that Coldplay will be on the show in a "couple weeks" and will play two songs.
  2. Cool to see so many here win! Guess I'm not so lucky with the Tidal playlist giveaway. Hopefully I get in on their social contests or KROQ.
  3. Grammy's 2003 and the performance of Politik. Then I heard Clocks and The Scientist, I was sold for life.
  4. I discovered London Grammar when they opened at Royce Hall, would love to see them return. Death Cab For Cutie - I don't think it's likely, but I can dream. Metric The Piano Guys Purity Ring
  5. Same thing happened for their ACE Hotel show during GS tour, turned out there was a massive guest list of band friends and industry people. Been trying all weekend and will continue to try all week, got caller 18 yesterday.
  6. Good call out! Closest I've got on the radio is caller 9 so far.
  7. So we have to sign up for TIDAL to create a playlist to enter for the tickets?
  8. Chris has always been nervous at events like this with tons of other artists. Doesn't help that this sort of festival is really rushed to pack so many big artists in just a few hours. Also factor in they've been off for a while. That bit at the end of looking around was strange, but let's not speculate. He said one more song and they did one more song. Each artist gets 4-5 songs depending on the length of their set.
  9. Sounds like we didn't miss too much, at least when compared to Royce Hall. Looking forward to hearing about experience, specifically attendance since so few tickets were up for public.
  10. Someone record the stream, please. I'll be at the Yanni show in Riverside tonight.
  11. I think this is for the LA show, they just have the day wrong. It's a CBS station and links to the KROQ site which will be streaming the show.
  12. Beats winners are supposed to be contacted today, but I haven't seen anyone win those on Twitter yet. 25 pairs up for grabs there. Gotta love the guy on KROQ basically telling people if you try to win you should be passionate about it, not just 'meh'.
  13. This on top of the fact that the ACE hotel show seems to be largely a VIP thing. You either have to be very lucky or a rich executive to see them live these days.
  14. I recall the Beats promo was for tickets within the first 10 rows, so maybe a 100 or so? If KROQ is in pairs, that's still not even half the venue capacity. I think we can assume there will be a large VIP presence.
  15. Can also enter on their site: http://kroq.cbslocal.com/2014/09/08/win-tickets-to-a-special-evening-with-coldplay-at-the-theatre-at-ace-hotel/ KROQ giving away 115 total, 90 on-air and 25 online.
  16. NO, just no. The entire super bowl is nothing but a glorified commercial. Coldplay isn't a commercial band, and they certaintly aren't a super bowl band, and a majority of those watching could care less. And ask the band to pay to perform? Stupidest thing I've ever heard.
  17. Well shoot, I'll be at the Yanni concert in Riverside that night! Oh well, Royce Hall was a blast. Goodluck to all the Coldplayers trying to score tickets for this one.
  18. There was an older couple in front of me that left half-way through. Also three people sitting next to me left before the encore, one was wearing Coldplay merch but looked like he was watching a lecture, no energy. There were quite a few people around me that started sitting down half-way through. Okay, I even sat during Oceans just to give my feet a rest, but why were people sitting during Midnight and ASFOS? Not judging, but there were a heck of a lot of older couples, and even many older gentleman going solo. They were lifeless souls swallowed in the sea of awesome. It was pretty much the same with the Twisted Logic and Viva concerts in Anaheim, people stay for the hits then hit up the lobby during everything else. Kind of annoying because I know there were plenty of die-hard fans that would have been dancing and singing their heart out to EVERY song. Also, Whoever the guy or girl was in the center section who was absolutely loosing their mind during A Whisper, you were awesome.
  19. Alright, home and time for a review! Regarding empty seats, it was nice to see that by the time Coldplay took the stage, I couldn't see any empty seats. THAT SETLIST!!! Really took everyone by surprise to open how they did. I knew they sound checked A Whisper, but really didn't expect it to be played. It was great! A guy sitting next to me tried to shazam it. Atlas <3 Don't Panic!! The Scientist <3 Yellow, making a comeback! And the whole Ghost Stories. I kind of expected that. Chris mentioned "ticket shenanigans", probably aware how difficult it was to get a ticket. Jon Hopkins "Open Eye Signal" before stage time, sounded great. Crowd was great, really into it. Also, London Grammar was awesome. What a great night! Photos:
  20. That was awesome. Kinda thought an encore after fly on, oh well. We got a whisper, don't panic and the full album. Wow.
  21. Keep in mind that photo of the empty seats is during intermission.
