  1. I preferred the old default theme. The theme button is also still invisible. The new one looks a bit 'PowerPoint background' for me. Perhaps just have the gradient at the top banner instead of the whole page. The new large font used for things like submitting posts is quite hard to read. The optional dark theme (which still has EL branding BTW) is also too dark, to the extend where I can't see the buttons. Personally I think the retheming should have just been the old Everyday Life/Coldplay General theme but with the rainbows or gold text replaced with pink and purple, as it was a much better theme in general. All three themes have issue. The default themes' text editors are white, which pops out and is hard on the eyes, and the dark theme is quite broken.
  2. This. As far as we're concerned the song could be much better than what we've heard. Perhaps it could be the next Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, which (in my opinion) is a very good thing, as that song gets pretty unstoppable by the end and gains a lot of (musical) momentum, if you will, almost like the ending of the 12" version of Temptation by New Order or the end of Station To Station by David Bowie.
  3. Found it!
  4. It looks great, but it has some problems that make some parts (like profile pages and the notifications section) unusable. Also, it appears we can no longer change the theme, which would have been quite useful at the moment.
  5. As for Bless, Sine Spe Recuperandi and Conscious Pilot, where did you find those names?
  6. More spurting of random ideas: In 2015 New Order released their album Music Complete, which inexplicably had a name you'd expect to see on a compilation album. Anyway, the year after, they released Complete Music, which was an alternate version of the album featuring extended and sometimes remixed versions of the tracks of MC. Maybe after MOTS is released, we'll get an alternate version of the album, probably called Spheres of the Music.
  7. There's a debate in the main thread about whether the next album will be called Higher Power or Music of The Spheres. Until Higher Power's (unofficial) announcement) we've assumed that MOTS will be the album name. We also know that the next single will be called Higher Power. However, Higher Power (the single) has been strangely placed in the albums section of Coldplay's website. I have some theories: We know that this is the start of a new 'era' as Coldplay have been rebranding themselves, but it is possible that until the official announcement of MOTS, they are putting Higher Power in the albums section as promotion for it. MOTS is the old name for the album which has been superseded by Higher Power. Higher Power is the name of the album and Music Of The Spheres is the name of something else. What it is, we don't know. Maybe a large-scale project that Coldplay have pioneered? Personally I still think the album will be called Music Of The Spheres, but I have been wrong before.
  8. This was just uploaded to Coldplay's Twitter. Looks like they're really promoting the album this time around!
  9. The Race leaked a few years ago, and Legends was leaked very recently. As for The Race, multiple parts were leaked at different times, but I am not aware of a complete version. The most common leaked version is the end (or start) of the song, but there are rarer sections leaked, including the bridge, the chorus(es) and one or two verses. It's practically the building blocks for the full song, and there was a 'full' version someone uploaded, but it has been taken down. I had downloaded it in time, as Coldplay seem to take down YouTube uploads of The Race very quickly - leading me to think they do plan on actually releasing it. Legends hasn't been taken down yet, so either Coldplay haven't got to it yet or they have no interest in it. Seems like lyrics. They could be a bridge section because they don't seem very melodic, or perhaps they let Chris Martin write them. ?
  10. I wasn't aware Colin and Cuthbert were going to have cameo appearances on the new album! Maybe they'll be in the leaked track, War Of The Werther's?
  11. I think it's likely that the purple/pink gradient used so far will be part of the final album cover. As for the weird alphabet, that could be part of it as well, although they could use it like on David Bowie's Blackstar, where Bowie's name is written with different parts of stars - perhaps Coldplay could write the name of the album in the weird alphabet, and perhaps have it in proper letters underneath, like this (pretend the numbers are symbols): 89473 17 751 7830462 MUSIC OF THE SPHERES
  12. It's time to get working on the track list! Currently we think there will be a single on the 7th of May called Higher Power - the name sounds like some sort of entity or being that controls us. Interesting... Alien Radio is part of the promotion for the album, so I think it's safe to assume it's the name of one of the songs on the album. The Race (unconfirmed; a sensible guess) Alien Radio Higher Power This is presumably lyrics to one of the songs on the album; I'd say Higher Power because it is supposedly the first single. It seems a bit like a chorus, but I could be and probably am wrong... "The joy is electric and you're circuiting through ('through' in a higher note) I'm so happy that I'm alive at the same time as you" (down a note at the end) Alternatively, it could be the titles of songs on the album put into a sentence, which is a thing I see a lot in the YouTube comments section. Here are some ideas for that: The Joy Is Electric (or perhaps Electric Joy) Circuit (?) I'm So Happy (I'm Alive With You)
  13. Alright, the hype train has officially left London Blackfriars station. We will be calling at baseless speculation, taking minor details too seriously, looking into things more than needed, and disappointment, where the train will divide. The front 25 members will call at eagerly waiting for the album to release, taking a day off work, and posting about the album as soon as it's released. The rear 25 members will calm down, calmly wait for the album and perhaps put a reminder on their phones. Please make sure you a travelling in the correct part of the train. The next station is baseless speculation. A buffet service of brand new information will be available on this train between baseless speculation and the first single. Thank you for travelling with Coldplaying.
  14. <insert generic post about hoping they finally get around to releasing The Race>
  15. I fully expect this album to feature a 20-minute Edwardian choir hip-hop electronic-lounge gothic rock opera, featuring BTS, Cardi B and James Murphy.
  16. It's likely just something they came up with quite quickly. As others have said, he could even be improvising. That said, it is very nice and I could easily see it as an intro to a song, an interlude track, or even an Escapist-esque hidden track.
  17. I've seen this Dua Lipa debate heat up and I wanted to put in my 'two cents'. Look at this photo. It's a design concept ordered by FirstGroup for the Great Western franchise. The photo is of the prototype Standard class seat design. It's a combination of blue, violet, teal and brown of all colours. Thank god First Great Western never used it... This image perfectly sums up collaborations in music. Multiple distinct styles (or colours in this anecdote) come together to make something awful. Very few collaborations actually work, like Under Pressure, as most end up being the 'bargain bin' of music. Something Just Like This had very little 'Coldplay' in it other than Chris singing and a guitar near the end and ended up as being a song that had pretty much zero redeemable features, and as much as I love its acoustic mix, Princess of China was pretty tepid. Dua Lipa is not much better. She's nowhere near as important to music as Rihanna (or Coldplay for that matter) and her music fits into a new genre pioneered by Billie Eilish and herself, which I like to call 'non-music', because nothing of any importance happens for the duration of the song. Coldplay is already not a spectacular band, achieving neither the ballad status of Take That nor the rock style of Feeder, nor the electropop style of New Order. Unfortunately people will listen to anything nowadays and a collaboration with Dualit Lipase, or a lot of other acts, will not do Coldplay's reputation any good. People need to actually analyse what good a collaboration what do. "But muh space theme! It's going to happen eventually; I just know it!" isn't analysis. Coldplay and Dua Lipa have very different styles. She's in the 'generic pop' genre, and Coldplay is traditionally in the pop-rock/'Take That Light' genre. I expect that a hypothetical collaboration between them would end up like the seat moquette above. Two distinct styles being forced into each other and achieving nothing in the process. That said, they could do a lot worse. While Dua Lipa's only achievements as a celebrity is appealing to 14-year-old girls and voting Remain, people like Cardiovascular Bronchitis and Little Nasdaq X are the bottom end of music. Calling it music at all is a push, being nothing more than Garageband loops and shouting obscenities. It's not music, it's a diatribe. A collaboration with them would be the end of Coldplay. However, I am firmly against any collaborations. It would just make any music they do make less credible, and would achieve nothing in the process.
  18. Don't forget 'I'd rather be a comma than a full stop'!?
  19. I believe the original leak is still on YouTube.
  20. I doubt it's a case of 'why Talk?' and more 'why not something else?'
  21. It won't be. It's not a glitch and it applies to every auto-generated music video on YouTube (although some have been abandoned, so some will unofficially keep the comments section - some even have the old layout!).
  22. Perhaps there were lyrics in it that related in some way or another to One Tree Planted... or perhaps - and this is the most likely option - they just liked the song.
  23. If it's one of the auto-generated YouTube videos, it was done automatically. It's a universal change and has nothing to do with Coldplay or 'Cancel Culture'.
  24. It could certainly make some songs grander. Perhaps they could do an orchestral EP?
