  1. Hi all - looking for TWO tickets to either show in Chicago. I prefer FLOOR or LOWER SECTION! Thanks! [email protected]
  2. Cheers to the folks who covered this - I've showed it to at least 10 people in the past week. It epitomizes what a great cover is - a fantastic song, with a totally new approach. Love it.
  3. I'd greatly appreciate the link as well!
  4. ditto! thanks for putting the work into this!
  5. Agreed. Thanks for the input everyone. I didn't do my homework before I posted and figured Epiphone's price was the same as when I bought it. Tyler
  6. I figured since I bought this guitar because I liked Chris', I'd give some Coldplayers the opportunity to have a look before it went to eBay or Craigslist.
  7. SOLD This is an Epiphone EL-00 (Epiphone's version of a Gibson Blues King). I purchased it new from Swee****er late last year. This guitar has been upgraded with a Martin Gold+ pickup, bone saddle and bridge pins as well as a hardshell case. It's a great axe to leave out at night, by your bed, throw in the car, etc. It's a 7.5/10 with the only wear being on the pickguard. I'm asking $275 (It would run $300 new + $90 for the case + the cost of the pickup and installation). E-mail me with any questions, as I'll reply quicker ([email protected]). Thanks, Tyler
  8. Hey Guys, I have a Fender Thinline Telecaster ('72 reissue) in a beautiful sunburst finish. I got this guitar a few months back and have come to the conclusion that 1) I can't play electric guitar and 2) It's more of a decoration in my place than anything else. It is a super comfortable guitar and sounds great. I have played it for maybe an hour in total. It has Dunlop Strap-Lok's installed on both ends (upper strap button was moved and filled - looks professionally done and doesn't affect playing at all - see pics.) Asking $550. Thanks!
  9. After hearing all about the "sound problems" that were encountered by fans at the Barcelona gig, I found this video, which shows that the fans and the band were just not into the gig as much as usual [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wiNAOHAkGg&feature=related]YouTube - Coldplay Barcelona 2009 - Viva la Vida - The best moment[/ame] NOT!! :)
  10. You can't go wrong with any Fishman under saddle pickups. I would recommend the matrix natural.
  11. The best way to pick a guitar is to go dedicate a day to playing a few ( at more than one shop ! ) I have played for a while and I always tell people that some of the "nicer" guitars don't always play the best. You can pick up a beater somewhere and it may sing to you. Go try a few out, sleep on it and pull the trigger. At the end of the day, get what makes you happy, what feels good in your hands and what sound good to YOUR ear! Cheers
  12. Thanks so much!
  13. I started a thread here when I decided to paint my acoustic (http://coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=54268) Below are three different paint jobs I have done - to keep my guitar somewhat safe, I start by layering blue painters tape where I plan to eventually paint. The first few times, I would then paint the blue painters tape white and then use that as a canvas. The most recent guitar was done a little differently. I still used the painters tape to protect the guitar, but then I put white duct tape on in and preceded to paint. I have used just regular, cheap, acrylic paint. Once I'm happy with the project, I use a varnish to make it shine, as well as keeping the paint from chipping off - Cheers! Tyler
  14. It's a great program. Much like the 08 Viva tour program. They have added a few "live" shots on each of the boy's pages as well as a few new live shots and collages. There are also 4 postcards to send, if the urge strikes you :)
  15. bohs man is correct. The Violet Hill/LIT tuning is : E A D G C# C# I was just passing time (maybe I was on the toilet, maybe I wasn't) going through the newest Tour Program and there is a page that has a collage of pictures (one of them being a setlist from 08, most likely for a guitar tech) and there are tunings out to the side of a few songs. If this is posted somewhere else, I apologize Cemeteries of London: A A D G B E Chinese Sleep Chant (Standard) 42: E A D G B D Strawberry Swing (Standard) Yellow: E A B G B D That's all I can tell from the program, enjoy!
  16. "Direct support Snow Patrol was an utter waste of time." Seriously? Was that person paying attention? When 18 thousand plus people give an "opening act" a standing ovation, I highly doubt that they were an utter waste of time. Crazy!
  17. Version 3 of my painted guitar! This time, I covered the top with painters tape (for protection), then instead of painting that white for a canvas, I used white duct tape instead and then painted on top of that -
  18. I agree! I'm hoping that a youtube video gets posted so I can double check - I for sure heard backing on the final chorus on LIT II - either way, I didn't care and I doubt anyone else heard/caught it :)
  19. I'll post a short review as I am shocked no one else has: This was the third time I've seen the boys this year, well 2nd to be correct (November - Atlanta, May - Atlanta, Last Night - Nashville) and I'll be trekking up to Charlotte in a couple months to see them once more. I craigslisted some tickets from a great dude in Murfressboro, TN (Shout out to Justin P.) and we had floor seats in section 6 - first row..nice Snow Patrol OWNED the crowd. They came out to a great roar and were awesome. It was my first time seeing them and they got a standing O after their set - at this point, the place was about packed, so that was very awesome to see. The show was fantastic as usual, but compared to the energy from the Atlanta show a few weeks ago, Chris was much more subdued and didn't have too much to say. I know that he was VERY talkative (more so than usual) in Atlanta, but that didn't take away from the night. Perhaps it was due to being back indoors for a summer show, I don't know. I believe the Sommet Center's capacity is 18K + and there were only a handful of empty seats that I could see - we're talking packed to the brim :) Same setlist as usual (I managed to grab one from a FOH guy at the end of the night). I also may be completely crazy, but after the Scientist, Chris seemed to walk towards the back of the stage either a little tired, discombobulated or something and when they play LIT II, they used a backing track on his vocals (maybe just the chorus). I wondered if he was starting to feel a little sick/tired, etc. All in all, great night - LRLRL distribution was as to be expected - slow but fun. I have a few pics, but nothing mind-boggling. The boys of Coldplay are Gods among men - that's all I can say :)
  20. damn! I got two great seats for Charlotte thinking that was as close as they would be...what to do, what to do :)
  21. Ineedyou23, it's a Martin-00016RGT...awesome little axe
