The only plausible reasons I have to answer is a) they aren't at the stage in producing where they can even release teasers. This I deem unlikely since it appears they are actually around 60-80% done. b) they're gonna release the album/single all at once with no hype beforehand. A situation I see that fits the bill is all of us waking up on a Monday morning and seeing an MV from the band out of the blue. The more likely of the guesses I have. to add also, I don't think they necessarily have to build hype. Coldplay are 6 albums deep and at this point ppl have made up their minds/opinions on the band and their music. Hype would only be for existing fans to enjoy, as I don't think it would really attract any new ones at this point of their career.

Explain how this is different now, than if you said it 2 months ago? Explain how this is different than any other blind guess made in this thread? You're going to drive yourself crazy if you go month by month saying/hoping/praying that next month is gonna be the month. Just relax, ppl going off rumours and gut feelings just sets others up for disappointment. When it doesn't pan out.

0% chance this happens. Coldplay already cost their label lots of $$$ by not touring extensively with GS. LP7 is where they make their money back and it wont be through letting ppl pay what they want for the album. Regarding the Rossi quote. To me, it means nothing, 'cause those who were paying attention could deduct that the album will come sooner rather than later anyways. As Sparky said, you can't really pinpoint from the quote whether 'soon' means next month or the end of the year; 'soon' is purely subjective.

I think she meant to say that they WERE busy all summer. But now they're taking a break. Not technically a direct quote that i've heard of, but in line of the idea that LP7 will be the end (of the theme from LP1-LP7 that is, not the end of the band).

While i agree with the no rush mentality, I dont think I could last til 2017! I was comfortable with a conservative guess of Q1 2016. With a bit more activity these past few weeks, and the band's track record, I still stand by that guess with a release within this calendar year being the earliest I would guess

Haa, it just seemed a bit low for 6 posts in 3 years! The wishlist is something that was encouraged and existed before, so no worries there. But just be careful that opinion is not fact. Especially for ESL posters who ask for facts but receive opinions and accept them as such.

I hate to single ppl out, but right off the bat, the next poster starts with "I HOPE the album won't be...". You seem to have a firm grasp of what has actually been said versus the wishlists of posters in this thread. "Night before the day" "something to shuffle your feet to". You (and many others) say you hope it doesnt go too poppy. But i'd agree with you in that it seems likely to be the case especially based off the two quotes you dug up.

Also read (on NME?) that he's working on his next LP in 5 weeks and he expects it to be out before the end of the year! I personally doubt that, but at least he IS working on new material.
