LP7 FACTS Thread - WE KNOW EVERYTHING NOV 6
Ahh, good to see the 'news' of an impending tour in India are already disproven. I don't have to go through the process of disproving it myself

LP7 FACTS Thread - WE KNOW EVERYTHING NOV 6
So a while back I set the release date window for Q3 2015 - Q1 2016. In a few hours, we'll be officially in Q3 2015. I think its safe to say though that nothing appears to be imminent. But by our collective best guesses, it appears to be nearing every day

Can't even wear another hat without fans being suspicious....

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm willing to believe that it was actually for a video message and not a music video, just because I think its still a bit early for LP7 to emerge. But did he really not expect fans to bombard him with questions? The biggest band in the world has been in the offseason, and you say you're working on a video with them...and you don't expect ppl to start asking questions? Yeah right....

More the latter if anything by my guess I'm afraid. But just to see them at all would be nice.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I'm not quite crazy enough to buy multiple copies. I only have the LPs and the DVD/Live albums. Yet i'm also not to the point where I'll pretend to save the money to spend on charities and saving the whales and shit. I don't buy any other music 'cept for Coldplay's, so what an extra $15 dollars or so per 3 years to me anyways? I'm not gonna judge others for choosing to buy or steal their music. It's their money, spend it how you wish. But dont guilt trip me by saying I could have spent it on charity instead. Anywho, LP7 gonna be a big one eh?

Can someone please write a song?
You're making this request at a time when Coldplay are in their 'off-season lull' and as a result, many posters are not active on the forums. Secondly, its hard to manufacture a good song in such an artificial way. Not impossible, but more difficult to produce a good product.

Maybe because...Will doesn't agree with either of you

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
If you're trying to suggest poprock, thats already a thing

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Let's dumb this down. Nickelback is better than Michael Jackson because "rockier is better". True or false?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Oh fuck yes, that is the best argument i've heard yet.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Anyways, in that short one page experiment this is what I learned/confirmed: -we can't even agree on what song is pop and what isn't let alone if the next album if gonna be pop so chillax. -I personally dont mind the songs that were deemed poppy in the previous page. In fact, I prefer them to certain rockier songs in Coldplay's repertoire. Which leads me to this statement: Pop is not bad if done well. Conversely, rock is shit if done poorly. It's all about how well you can pull it off. I tend to think Coldplay have done a good job at whatever genre they happen hit upon in a song they're doing. But again, I don't even think Coldplay is out to make music of a certain genre.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Question to those afraid of the supposed poppiness of LP7: What is a song on Coldplay's library which you deem to be most poppy? Do you view this as a bad song? Is the song as poppy as you'd like to seem them go? With an example from another band, what is the poppiest you'd tolerate Coldplay getting to?

LP7 FACTS Thread - WE KNOW EVERYTHING NOV 6
I would suggest everyone on the forum watch/listen to that to get a basic knowledge as to what we know about LP7 Ie general theme, release date timeframe, etc.

I believe it was Jonny's quote in an interview he and Guy did with Jo Whiley. Somewhere in here: [video=youtube;2fpTvuqHf00] Edit: 2:10 into the video.

^ Don't get me wrong, Guy and Jonny and to a lesser extent Will have their moments on the album. But I don't think i'm making a stretch by saying this album is Chris centric. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24Q2iEtArvk 5 mins in, near the end of the program Guy and Will both implicitly refer to the album as Chris's. Of course they tiptoe around the idea, and avoid using the word breakup or divorce, but its pretty clear to me that Chris built most of the structure of most songs, and the rest of the band added to what was mostly already there. I feel the band knew that the album was his and let him run with it while supporting him musically in a way where they weren't completely out of the loop but I think its more than fair to say GS was Chris centric. I'd say out of all albums, this is the one to call Chris centric.
