First post updated to reflect news of producers from Norway. I filed it under 'what is likely' and yes I did say Stargate but clearly indicated it was the best guess we have so far with the limited info given, though still unconfirmed. It's as far as i'm willing to go with the topic.

Yeah, I didn't want to be the black sheep of the forum, but I really do feel stringly against the move. Good to see a few others agree. I mean, they could turn out to be producers, but it's nothing more than a likely guess than confirmed story.

Agreed, except the Twitter feed, run but those who I thought knew better, went ahead and broadcast to the world that it's confirmed; posted outside the realm of this speculation thread. What the actual eff. "Stargate confirmed producers of Lp7"? Y'know, I figured after the fiasco of the fake show in the Netherlands that we would be more careful in confirming stuff. I don't know what our own personal criterion are for listing something as confirmed, but I would hope to see something from Coldplay using the word 'Stargate' before I starting confirming shit, you know what I mean? i guess this site has an obligation to try and break news first and to increase internet traffic on the site and what not but its just plain wrong to start confirming things when the only instance of the words "A Head a Full of Dreams" and "Stargate" being in the same sentence came from a poster who did some research. To me, that's great that the poster did some work and dug around, but it isn't enough to confirm anything.

Well, the band (particularly Guy) has a good relationship with Magne Furuholmen of A-Ha, with them being in Apparatjik together. And Mags has come out to perform with Chris as well during a concert or two (High and Low). But the tweet refers to producerssssssss, as in more than one Norwegian producer perhaps? I agree with Sparky though that thanking them makes it seem like 'they' are done their part of producing. Either way, get hype

I don't think anyone thought the big announcement was gonna be anything other than more Q&A. Sorry you got hyped up for 'nothing', but it doesn't take much reading between the lines to figure out what it was gonna be.

I don't think my question is quite as good as Post#8, but i'll give mine a go. My question is for the entire band (including Phil!), and I hope they can all put in a word regarding the following question: In the series 'The South Bank Show' where Coldplay were featured, it was shown that the band used to be in the habit of creating a list of goals that they would like to achieve (first gig, second gig, reinvent the wheel in an emotional way!). What are the short and long term goals that the band have for themselves? For instance, in the short term, would they like LP7 to come off a certain way? Or in the long term, would they like to do a certain number of gigs/albums?

Whenever I think of this song, I remember the disaster of a performance Chris had when he performed it with 'Uncle J' and 'Yezzy'. Would post the youtube here, but i'm at work. If anyone wants to try, it was a new years thing J was running iirc, and Chris was seemingly drunk and totally missed timing of the song, I think he added an extra bar or something to each chorus he sang.

I agree. Saying 'soon' doesn't change anything about when I though LP7 would come out. Saying soon is just a way for them to convey that, yes, they are working on the album currently and to expect it...soon....Most of us are already comfortable with the guess that the album is coming within the next 10 months anyways.

Plz see below image. It is a screencap of a video on the same night but in a higher definition than the one OP posted. Please note the 4 tuning pegs, which I thought corresponded to the 4 strings on the guitar, hence my assumption of Guy playing a 4 stringed, yet non-bass, instrument.

IIRC, there were suggestions from fans that the era, now known as the MX era, was to be 'wedding themed'. This was because the main page of Coldplay.com had a RSVP on it (though I think it was just for signup of email alerts). Also because Wedding Bells appeared about that time and the Christmas show(s?) they did (Newcastle?) had the band show up in a formal, some would say 'wedding-like' attire. But I digress. Like you, I don't doubt that LP7 is a bit further along than is being conveyed to us and that the recent theme change in Coldplay.com is a small teaser as what is in store for the upcoming era. But I'm having trouble understanding your reasoning for it. I believe its your 3rd paragraph. I'm having trouble following the timeline you're posting. It's less to do with your writing and more with my inability to comprehend it, could you ELI5 O reddit team representative?
