Very interesting time to decide to join the forums having about to end the AHFOD era. Not that i'm complaining, could always use more users. FYI, LP2 is my fav as well. Welcome, see ya around

They have, and it is.... But before I get called out for taking sides, respect goes both ways and so both sides need to work at it to patch things up. Both sides are guilty of some things, and have work to do. Again, its a shame we can't even say we like coldplay in our own forum. If we can't do it here, how can we expect to do it anywhere else?

Funny thing just happened, I was listening to Fort Knox and Holy Mountain back to back because thats the way its gonna appear on the album. I thought FK was okay ever since I heard it, but I was still trying to get into HM. So, FK finishes and I let it run into HM, and by the end of HM, I realize i'm tapping my toes. Perhaps i'm starting to turn around to it afterall. I was also youtubing Noel earlier, and he did a couple of TV appearances where he played HM live and he appeared to be lip syncing it (along with What A Life). Thought it was a little strange. Perhaps it was vocal rest, because he was doing it for real while opening for U2

If we can't even say we like Coldplay on a Coldplay fan site, then what the actual fuck?! Exactly, I remember following a conversation here where a member would say sarcastically, 'oh great, coldplay are making dance music now, what happened to this band' etc. The response from another member was perfect, 'so we're not even allowed to dance to music anymore?'

^exactly, if you like it, listen to it. If you don't like it, by all means, continue to dislike it, and go ahead and voice an opinion. I only feel that sometimes that gets taken too far, and it makes people almost ashamed to say, 'no wait, I still like this'; especially when newer fans get told their taste is inferior or undeveloped....

lol, thanks for the TWD reference. yeah, I dont think its reasonable to have even the hardcore fans be fans of absolutely everything. I also don't think loving absolutely everything makes you a bigger fan than someone who doesnt. I feel we're sometimes guilty of a pissing contest to try and prove what big fans we are. To me, it makes it look more like those people try a bit too hard. We all have to realize (myself included), its okay not to like things, and its okay our tastes are different. I totally agree with giving things a chance. I also like your example with the Mexico song. I'm not saying my way is the best way, but I personally didn't like the song, but I didn't go around lamenting and longing for the Rush of Blood days (even though I do); it's such a tired rant that im so sick of at this point. I realize that just because i don't like something, doesnt mean others can't enjoy it. I'm most of all disappointed that we have lost respect for one another over something as stupid as music taste. It's driven the traffic on the site way down, and its negatively impacting the community. As an >10 year member of the forum, the difference is clear and disappointing.

My first thoughts were 1. I can see this as, like, a boxer's entrance music for some reason 2. Chris and Noel must've done the same drugs 'cause they seem to like the kaleidoscopes!

im in a bit too long and deep to quit now, plus its episode 100, so it BETTER be good, lolBumparoo, ~100 minutes to season premiereI would love for them to take a break, for their own health and possibly to help heighten the quality of LP8. The boys are aging, and while they're relatively fit, Chris bouncing around night after night can't be good. I hate to play this card, but he can't even sing Clocks anymore : / That being said, we expected them to take a break every era, and they've never really done it. Perhaps it was because they were on the right side of 40 before, but maybe it'll be different now that the big 4-0 is here. But Chris is clearly the type of artist to always have music 'sent' to him. He isn't gonna turn that off or ignore a good song just because they're on break. Bottom line: do I think they should take a break? Yes. Do I think they will? No.ah, i wasn't too much into the games.... yeah, im sure we all have other hobbies to occupy our time besides Coldplay. I look forward to spending more time with that while we waityeah, better get used to this, as another Coldplay offseason is just around the corner. What else do we have to look forward to before the end of the LP7 era? -final leg of the tour starts in Brazil on Nov 7 -SA leg ends on the 15th of Nov in Argentina -AHFOD Tour DVD/CD -maybe a Christmas surprise of some sort? -maybe Life is Beautiful studio version? Past that, the next time the forum is alive again is for LP8. As soon as the last gig is up, someone is gonna post the LP8 thread and we'll all be livin' in it.
