LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
Bit too early to tell, and no info to draw off of. In my mind, the only clue is there will be nothing but surprises, so leaning towards something new I guess, iunno.

LP8 Thread - Everyday Life
Two reasons in my mind. 1) We're waiting for the live album to be released first and since its so quiet on that end, we havent even been thinking about LP8. 2) What news we do get isn't big or substantial enough so we just use the Random thread. Every 'offseason' thats what the Random thread becomes. Just misc news that isnt big enough for its own thread, or even a post here, but big enough to start a convo. Also because that usually ends up being the most popular thread of the offseason. But yeah, the biggest 'news' lately is the rumour that they may come back mid/late next year for a run of festivals, BUT that was shot down quickly and we've expecting 2020.

I think its just like when I visit my relatives and say i'll be back soon when really, i'll be back in 3 years. It's just a way to say something vague and non-committal yet leaving the door open to interpretation from fans so they can F5 every day waiting for content. Im sorry, but I really think they'll be taking their sweet sweet time.

Random Coldplay Trivia
"off" as in they aren't accurate? Oh well, fooled me anyways! Chris's great great grandfather was responsible for daylight saving time. I wonder if that why chris had Daylight and Clocks as song titles!?

Random Coldplay Trivia
Credit to r/Coldplay where I saw a thread with this idea. It was very interesting to read some facts that I didn't know about. The thread is very simple: post a random piece of trivia about Coldplay I'll start: during 9/11, MTV in america went off the air for a bit. When they came back on, the first MV they played was Yellow.

I thought it was still MX/HLH to open? I do recall hearing/watching the video and the bass overpowering the recorder's mics. I also remember hearing Princess of China and being blown away. So many things I remember about those first pre-release shows. I remember one by one hearing each track with Up in Flames being last. Also remember the few songs we didn't hear turned out to be the short/snippet/instrumental ones and being disappointed in that. I dont think I could ignore or fight the urge to listen to whatever gets recorded before the release.

before this article, I didnt think they'd be back that quickly. I still hope they dont tbh, because I want them to take their time. its no secret that the guys are constantly writing, i dont think thats what taking a break means per se. either way, interesting point about the last time they did a festival run was 2011 (with MX). I remember being very excited hearing new songs debut at Rock am ring / Rock im park but I also recall listening to the album on the CD when it eventually came out and being very underwhelmed. I mean, its cool to hear some tracks early, but not ALL the tracks!

Facebook says that its been about 9 years since I went to the Coldplay concert during the Viva era. I remember going with my parents and trying not to make an ass of myself. Going again during the AHFOD tour was a lot better because I didn't really care how silly I looked that time!

lol, like I said earlier, i have a double off season, so its been dragging a bit. The spike of news of the live album has been nice though.

Fact checking you and Sept 5/6, depending on where you live, is accurate. Thats a Wed/Thurs. I never remember which day of the week artists like to release their music. Can somewhere say if this falls in line with that? Edit: seems like its usually Fridays but thats not a hard rule AFAIK.

Here's Debs' twitter btw, https://twitter.com/debswild?ref_src=twsrc^google|twcamp^serp|twgr^author When asked what the countdown was for, she (twice) says something to the effect of "you-know-what". Yeah, doubt its for a full out release. But then again, im assuming they do at least a bit of promo. Which leads me to why I think she's 'leaking' this info: to create hype. Not a lot of people have even thought of Coldplay in a while, so this gets people talking without leaking anything of real substance. She didn't say what the countdown was for, heck, it might not even be for this. Plus, it's not like she's leaking the actual music. Even if she did, some of us have already heard parts of the CD anyways since it was from concerts, lol.

This is atypical of the band to be this late. When I first made my prediction, I based it on Coldplay's previous live album release dates and came up with April, so that should give you an idea of how late this is. I don't know how it goes with other bands/artists. From what I know, it does seem like they are working on it. Other than that, news seems far and in between im afraid.
