I was told the version of Neon Forest that leaked is four minutes long. If it’s sharing a track that’s 6 minutes with two other songs, either the other songs are super short (like Alien Choir or Poppyfields) or Neon Forest has been trimmed significantly, which would make me sad. Or the person who told me that was bullshitting, which is also possible. The live Yellow intro, which Phil said is a part of Neon Forest, doesn’t quite fit either. It’s in a different key with a different tempo. So who the fuck knows what’s going on.

If you listen closely to the intro of FLIFIL you’ll hear the same synths from the leaked Neon Forest fading out. So maybe there’s something to it?

The fact it's 7 minutes long as opposed to 4 tells me if it is a long song, they've reworked it in some way. There was someone claiming to be an insider who was most likely bullshitting, but they said it ended with a crescendo similar to the live version of Biutyful. So it's possible this song goes in directions we haven't anticipated yet.

In Athens people were crying to feelslikeimfallinginlove, calling it a song with a classic Oldplay feel and insisting it would be a huge hit. In the end it got middling reviews and hardly took the world over commercially. It's absolutely wonderful the Moon Loungers got that experience, and I'm super grateful they shared all that information with us. But if you're invited by your favourite band to listen to some songs before anyone else in the world gets to; you're going to have a very different listening experience to someone on the other side of the planet using their laptop much later. It's really promising that the Loungers love iAAM so much, but I'm not assuming anything here.

I agree, actually. I'd prefer one 7 minute song to a hidden track. Coloratura proved they can do long songs well and I want more. On that, and I'm sure I've said it before, I hope Rainbow is one long song in three parts as opposed to three separate songs with silence in between. We could call it 43!

I worry that fans (more on Reddit than here) are projecting their fantasies onto iAAM, and are hyping it to a level that the real song won’t reach.

At the very start of flifil you can hear the synths from Neon Forest fading out. So that tells me MOON MUSiC may feature elements of Neon Forest somehow.

I wonder if Moon Music is the legendary Man in the Moon. I assume there’s still a Moon Music intro, but they actually incorporated it into the main body of the song for once. Rainbow isn’t as long as I was hoping but I’ll happily take it. iAAM being so short is a surprise. Maybe the soundcheck was close to the full song after all? Aeterna is also surprisingly short given there’s a hidden track at the end of it. One World being so long makes me think maybe A Wave is a hidden track after all, that would be cool.

If you take the version of side b with Orchestra of Rainbows; add Coloratura, A Wave and a few other tracks, you’d have a really good non-pop space themed album. When MM is released I’m gonna make a playlist and see how it flows.

I also don’t see how Rainbow fits into the “pop Coldplay” thing either

That’s a reupload of a demo that leaked a while ago. Apparently the album version will be longer.

This was meant as a sort-of joke. But if it did happen it would be the most Coldplay thing ever.

Plot twist - neither Jupiter or MITM end up on the album. The FLIFIL pt.2 interlude takes up a track slot instead.

It doesn't pack the same punch as the live version, but that's to be expected. Anyway I hope it's out soon, and they don't make us wait a fortnight again.

Man oh man, imagine if Everyday Life has proper b-sides. It's shame to think those tracks just get vaulted now.
