About half of the Neon Forest portion has leaked, and a tiny snippet of Angel Song has too. MUSIC is still a mystery but given how similar Neon Forest and Angel Song are sounding I'm assuming MUSIC will be a similar vibe.

Looking at the tracklist it's interesting how you can kind of split it in half. Pop Coldplay feelslikeimfallinginlove (which is quite understated for this category) Jupiter Good Feelings We Pray (which is much darker than usual pop Coldplay) Traditional/intimate Coldplay All My Love Rainbow (fuck you I'm not using the emoji anymore) I am a Mountain One World Then there's Aeterna which doesn't fit in either category really, but given it's a late addition that makes sense. It's very unusual, with most albums they'll pick a style and see it through the whole thing (MOTS being an an exception). Here it seems like they're caught between two album styles and don't know which one to commit to.

We've got snippets of Jupiter. The verse seems really catchy and has been stuck in my head all day, I love The Buggles feel to it. The chorus has this odd time signature thing going to for it, so I'm curious to hear how it sounds in context. There'll be strings in the second half, which is always nice. Assuming it'll be a standard verse-chorus-verse thing, it won't be their greatest hit but it should be pretty good as far as Newplay pop goes. That's assuming Chris doesn't fill the rest of it with the dumbest lyrics ever written (always a possibility).

Right now I have a rough-decent idea of how all 10 songs will sound, which is probably enough to call it better than MOTS. There's nothing as awful as Biutyful, Let Somebody Go or People of the Pride, so that bar has been cleared (thank god). There's nothing Coloratura level, but AML, Rainbow, Mountain and One World will probably be better than most of the non-Coloraturas. We Pray and Aeterna could fit into that category as well, honestly.

idk if you'll consider 🌈 a proper song if you don't consider One World to be, but unless things have changed the Neon Forest portion apparently goes for 4 minutes. Add two other songs on top of that and I recon you're dealing with at least 7 minutes of music (hopefully more), the polar opposite of a 30 second interlude.

It's interesting how if you take leaks out of the equation and just look at what normies have access to, a chunk of the album has been heard already. There won't be a lot of surprises left come October. Rainbow I'm not shocked they're holding onto, but wasn't Jupiter supposed to be the lead single at one point?

I hope I'm wrong but Aeterna being on the album tells me there won't be b-sides this go around. The upside is maybe these songs will be saved for MOTS3.

Rainbow is 3 songs in one actually! So I was right and Aeterna did make the album. So nyeh

Right now I'm reasonably confident about 9/10 tracks, just gotta figure out the identity of that last one.

I’d say there’s a decent chance. They played it for the Love Button people and they uploaded a clip of them recording it to Instagram. Phil concurred it had Viva vibes. I don’t know why they would hype up a song so close to the release date and then not release it.
