If you look at the other lead singles from the last 15 years, they’re all very good songs. But none of them are the best track off the album, nor do they really represent the albums they’re from quite frankly. They represent the poppier side of Coldplay, even from the less poppy albums. It’s Friday in a few hours. I’m not staying up to see if FLIFIL will drop as I’m pretty sure it won’t, but surely we’re only a week away from it? Surely.

Well, it's either the soundcheck song or the soundcheck song is not on the album. And given the band posted a recording session of that song recently on Instagram, it's a fair assumption. Could be wrong of course. We'll see what happens when/if the snippet is leaked.

We now have previews of every song from the album except the interludes. Obviously not enough to judge the record as a whole, but enough to judge what kind of album it's going to be. It's going to be a stylistically inconsistent album I think, certainly not the closest relative to Viva in their discography. That said, it feels like it will be better put together than MOTS at least, and probably AHFOD too. The stretch from from All My Love to Angel Song might please those hoping for a more low-key record, plus One World and possibly Man in the Moon as well. Even FLIFIL has an Oldplayish feel to it. But then there's Good Feelings and We Pray (and possibly Jupiter) that are Newplay through and through, and it will be interesting to hear how they flow with the record of the album (if at all).

We Pray sounds pretty cool, I love what I'm hearing actually, but it'll certainly piss off a subsection of Coldplay's fanbase once it's released. Angel Song sounds wonderful. I can't believe Weekday is real.

Never said the recording was bullshit. The recording is great. Your decision to prevent fans from downloading something they wanted to hear however, that's bullshit. If I hadn't put it up for download someone else would've.

I don't know if you were here for the last few months of leaks but the whole holier than thou attitude from leakers has become real tiresome. I have gratitude for people who choose to share things with the community, but I don't have any for people who use that as an excuse to be rude to fans. How they sound performing live and how they sound produced by Max Martin are two different things. We need to prepare ourselves for that.

Anyone have a go at All My Love? To me it sounds like a father singing to his children, which is really sweet.

I'd say Japanese bonus track is a more likely fate for Aetena (like Flags from EL)

We might get quite a few remixes/alt versions if the HP and MU releases are anything to go by, but I wouldn't expect any extra songs. I'm still thinking the single will be released next week and the video a week after. None of the MOTS singles launched with a music video, unless you count the shipping container version of Higher Power.
