Yeah I was in the group that hated ETIAW when it first dropped but loves it now. The thing about that song and Magic especially is they needed to heard in context of the album in order to make sense. We now know Magic as a sad heartbreak song but you couldn’t really understand that without the rest of Ghost Stories to hammer the feeling home. Without that context it just sounded like a confused pop song.

I had a listen to the A L I E N S version up there and I noticed the intro of radio static with the voice saying "ALIEN RADIO". I always thought ALIENS was Alien Radio all along, and this alt version fuels that theory.

They're all on the more ambient side of things, so there's that musical connection. Lyrically, I guess Human Heart and One World are all about human unity? You could argue the "ole!" chant from Infinity Sign fits that too, in a way. So I dunno, maybe the Rainbow suite has lyrics along those same lines. Or maybe there's no real connection and Chris just thinks those emojis are cool. That's a lot more likely, actually.

idk, lots of artists do that. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think Coldplay's ever done this before though (oh wait, they did with MX). What's the strategy here? Why withhold the tracklist information and reveal everything else?
