this is a very important issue which every human should care about

the problem is with media and it's power, the television and all the "trendy things" as you mentioned do pressure on all those 14-17 years old teenagers who are not really ready to decide themselves what they really want...i know it, because i was under the same influence. 3-4 years ago when I was around 12-13 i wanted to get the same shoes as one of my friends from the school, thanks to friends i got into hip hop and particularly rap. i used to listen to it years ago, last year i found around 30 rap/hip hop Cds at home and scratched almost all of them. the rest i'll give to my half-brother who'll be 10 next month :lol: i liked it, because i thought it was cool. thank god, i started to differentiate music from crap around 2 years ago i can't really blame all those people, they just probaly don't realise that they are not really controlling themselves, some of them will realise that and will reject the TV and trend pressure, some not ;)

yes, they are both boring. i don't like them, although i did purchase Back To Bedlam, but was extremely disappointed and never listened to it again. Katie Melua's singles bore the shit out of me, i don't even care to give a chance to any of her albums here's an example: many people would call hip hop shit here, probably. although, it's definitely not true. there were/are good hip hop artists (Public Enemy, Notorius BIG, Beastie Boys) and bad (mainstream hip hop/rap). so it's just a matter of taste, if you ask me. but describing hip hop as shit generally is harsh and stupid. you either like it as genre or not, but don't generalise ;)

you didn't get the sarcasm then, obviously. but then again, i call shitty music what i think shitty music is. it's my opinion and it doesn't make that music better or worse (= bad or good music generally)

yes there is, i think Radio 1 or 2 was broadcasting this gig and they recorded the whole gig obviously, so the recording must be there somewhere in their archive...maybe they'll re-broadcast the whole session once again in the future and they will probably add those 2 songs. who knows... that Radio 1 played We Never Change from 99's (!!!) radio session only some months ago for the first time...so i think there is a chance to get those 2 as well

nah, screw the deadline. if it takes a year to "collect" at least 20 lists, then i'll wait a year. i mean, you see the point: if people are interested in making this then i can change the deadline. i just need to know if there will be more lists than approximately 10 that we have now or will have in the near future ;)

you finally mentioned a good musician in one of your posts, i'm surprised. Bob Dylan is indeed a great musician, better or not better than Radiohead is hard to tell. i don't know which of them is better, i prefer Radiohead, but not because they are better. you must be really smart if you can compare them... if you expect Radiohead to release the same stuff on every album then you are probably a twat like Brandon Flowers who wishes Radiohead to release pop songs once again if you don't like Radiohead's change in their discography then don't listen to them and don't complain. don't listen to Kid A/Amnesiac recording sessions which are much better than The Bends/OKC era and stuff let me guess, you don't like U2 because of Bono and Radiohead because of Thom Yorke, because both are activists and not stupid?

well, you listen to bands like Razorlight and Kasabian, so let me not rate your poor music taste in this case
