Viva la Vida (song) = Beautiful...?
I don't think I answered the question to this thread yet. So as I am bored, can't sleep and should be doing some late night studying, I'll answer now. Viva La Vida IS most definitely beautiful.

Noel Gallagher thoughts about free download single and free concerts
I haven't heard the album, I heard the last 30 secs of the single on the radio the other day, but I'm sure it's going to be great. I love Coldplay. Chris is such a top geezer. Giving it away for free though, that's not my thing. I instinctively think if I'm getting something for free it's not very good. I'm not suggesting it's not very good, it's probably brilliant. I don't know, I think there's too much of this "let's give it all away for free". Whatever happened to the old traditions in the music business? I don't know, I thought it was working quite fine.

"Viva la vida" instruments used
Oh, I thought it was instruments used on the album, not the song. I take back the tabla(s) :P

Live Nation hint at "different" Coldplay tour

"Viva la Vida" shoots to iTunes Top 10
Coldplay do indeed stand out on that list. Please tell me that Rihanna track is a Muse cover. I'd love to hear that.

The new "studio"...
It does seem weird for them to tell everyone where they are based. But they've gone to so much trouble decorating it and setting up camp there and actually buying the place that it'd be silly to move somewhere else. They must have a pretty terrifying "busy, do not disturb" sign on the door to scare people off with, or they trust the general public not to steal their drumsticks.

Tabla(s) ? Vocals

"Viva la vida" instruments used
Some up-to-date equipment lists would be nice. Any instrument experts keep your eyes peeled. Failing that, we could get Debs to find out for us.

The NME Thread
Recorded delivery will mean you'll need to sign for it, so make sure you're up in time, and look decent. Unless you don't mind answering the door half asleep, hair everywhere and looking a mess, like me :P

What about the other band members?
They could even have the strings played back during the live show through a computer/laptop or whatever clever technology they use. I think someone else may have mentioned this earlier, sorry if I'm repeating.

Live 2003 Re-Issue...
Ohh good spot. Re-issues do sometimes have a few extra things added don't they.

The NME Thread
Yes Semy I haven't received mine either yet :( It'll come for sure, just annoying having to wait I guess. I believe people in America and Europe have to wait a few weeks for theirs, so I suppose our wait isn't as bad. We'll have a party when we all get them!

Live Nation hint at "different" Coldplay tour
This is taken from an article about Madonna's current world tour: Arthur Fogel, a one-time Torontonian now based in L.A. as Live Nation's CEO of global touring and chairman of global music, says this year's Madge tour will do extremely well, what with no other major tours in the works from such acts as U2 and the Rolling Stones, although he points out the Coldplay tour "will be huge in a different way." http://winnipegsun.com/Entertainment/Music/2008/05/08/5503326-sun.html A simple statement that Coldplay and Madonna's live shows are different, as most live shows are? Or a hint that Coldplay's tour is going to be a significant shift from normality in some way or another........

Amsterdam
I'll start looking now then :P I like the weird noises at the start of Amsterdam. It sounds a bit like the breathing equipment that an underwater diver uses.

If Viva is the weakest track on the album then this could be the greatest album of all time.
