1. Even if we did paypal or ebay....or even cafepress, we'd still have to have managers of the account, and they could easily run off with the money. This is so tricky!! We should have more than one manager, so that if something goes awry, the problem will be caught....but humm. I wish we could somehow have the money go directly to a charity, but I can't think of how. Edit: Oh i remember now that Vic had the idea of a shared email account with which we would register for the paypal so that everyone could see the transactions taking place and monitor what's going on with their money! The pw for the paypal should be kept privy to just a small number of people though, imo.
2. ^ The thing is, with cafepress.com, if we just paid $12 bucks, we'd make no profit! :laugh4: We only make a profit if we charge over $12. I'm pretty sure this is how it works. (cafepress: "We have a base price for our products and the markup you set above the base price is your commission."). Here is a list of all the base prices for all of their offered products: http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/help/base_prices.aspx. Yikkes.......even MORE spendy than just $12!! What do you all think? I think we could do better if we made them ourselves (at local tshirt shops...I've got several in my town and I can call around for price quotes).

^ Gwyn does look beautiful! The proud mother look. :nice: Babies are so precious!
4. I'm so happy you guys like my design...and that you would actually buy one!! :nice: To my previous post, I added a "blue & green globe on black" version. Any other color requests? :P We still need to come up with a way to produce the tshirts for the lowest cost possible, so that the maximum amount of money can go to charity. Cafepress.com is good, but their base price is kinda high (I think it's approx. $12 USD). Just to get an idea, how much is everyone willing to pay for shirts, buttons, bumper stickers, etc.? Btw, all of you can design stuff for our 'store' too! Just post it here. Yay to all who want to help out!! This is so awesome. :D:D Cp fans are the best.
5. Today it's Closer to You - The Wallflowers :nice: I  this song!
6. Hey guys! I was bored, so I drew a t-shirt design. :P The original is bigger, but I didn't want it to warp the page. Let me know what you think! Here are some color variations:
7. Didn't think you'd pop in here, Ian. Thanks for the O.K. for making cping tshirts. :D They'll be awesome, we promise. Danielle, yup, I totally agree with you too. I was just thinking if things fall thru over here, then we might be forced to start a new forum up (not using the coldplaying name of course), but yeah, that kinda deviates from the whole idea in the first place. Iaaaan, pleeease can we have our own section? I'll beg if i have to. :P Hope it wont come to that though! It shouldn't be members based persay, no offical regulations to 'get in' or anything, but I think people like the idea of belonging to a club, so it is kinda fun to keep a list of people who have 'joined.' In no way will it be exclusive or (god forbid) cliquey. I'm glad you brought up the point about money. People shouldn't feel pressured to donate anything. It'd be nice, but hey, there are plenty of other things people can do! Charity comes in many different forms.
8. I don't mind at all! I think its good if we have some uniformity....a real bonifide club!! btw, an_cat, look what you've done to my rep rating! Oh my! You didn't need to go and do that. :P I feel I should have more of a reason to deserve it. But woah, thanks anyway. Does this mean I'm cool now?? lmao :D:lol:
9. I'll ask LiquidSky or one of the other mods for a sticky......ooor we can continue bumping it like mad. :P Coldplaying.com Not just a forum...but a way of LIFE!! Aww, look at our sigs. They match. How cute. :D
10. ^ an_cat, the fact that cping has so many hundreds of members was what got me thinking bout this thing in the first place. You're right.....$1 per person aint much skin off anyones back, but together we could do a lot of good! OOooOO, idea: we should start a $1.00 campaign!!! Sadly, not nearly as many people have shown interest as I'd hoped. :( The sig links may help a bit. To make a link use the [ url=http://....] text [ url/ ] tags. Here's the code in my sig: [b ] ♥ Coldplaying Charity Club ♥[/b ] (just delete the spaces if you want to use it) I haven't asked Ian yet about using the coldplaying.com name on t-shirts. I'm sure he wouldn't mind (hey, it's promotion for him), but I suppose we should get permission first. :P Good luck with exams before your term is up!
11. Walk like an Egyptian! :laugh4:
12. Shame isn't it? I can't get rid of my penguins! They are too near and dear to me now! My name is Nadia, but that isn't a commonly known piece of information in these parts. ;) "You can call me whatever you like. Just don't say I'm going bald." omg, where'd that come from?? ;) I need to stop watching Live 2003. Annnnyhow, feel free to use those little promo banners if you want. I plan on making some more soon.
13. In the article it says that he searched for Chris Martin in NY and it was the 14th result on the search return list. Like he really knows? This whole idea...how ridiculous. I searched for my family, and we showed up too. Boooo. Just as you can get your name unlisted in the telephone directory, you should have the option to protect your privacy online as well.
14. This is quite silly looking, but oh well. :P Just made another...I'll attempt to make some nicer looking ones tomorrow. 1am is apparently not my creative hour.
15. Ahh, that's why I couldn't see your train! Vic, it's AWESOME! Me gusta muuucho. And the little green equal signs. Brilliant. I'm making a little thing now...which doesn't even come close to how cool yours is...but I'm tryin! :P
16. lmao, I love your gif, Vic, I really do! I get it now...it's a train! Choo, choo. :laugh4: I just found a program on my computer which I think will work to make a gif...if it doesn't, I may take you up on your offer. Thanks! I know of a few places where we can create a forum...I'll look into it. :nice: to your thread link in your sig. A little  too! Yay! But just so you know, your MAKE POVERTY HISTORY text can't be read anymore....:( Might want to change it back to white. ;)
17. Vic, do you know the name of that gif animator program that has a crack available? I think it was posted on here somewhere, at sometime, but I can't even recall the name of it now. Dooya know what I'm talking about? :P
18. It's all flashy and purrrdy...not sure that that little bouncey thing is, but it is quite eye catching! I wanna go make one now, but I have no clue how to even start! :P
19. When people think of Africa, the stereotypes that pop to mind are of a continent where democracy has failed, and a land stricken by poverty, famine and civil war. But there is so much more to Africa than that. It is the cradle of humanity. It is rich in many different cultures and history. Because the thought of 'traditional culture' goes hand in hand with the idea that Africa has rejected modernity, it is often viewed as backwards. But Africa, from a certain perspective, can be seen as one of the most successful continents on the planet when one thinks of how long people and cultures have populated its lands. Just a different angle to think about.
20. First post has been updated! boomslang, your idea has been implemented  Frostebite, we'll figure out job positions, and the finer details soon as more people become interested. Right now I just want to concentrate on getting word out about this whole thingy. Thanks therese for the link. I put it in the first post. :nice: And I was thinking, if there isn't sufficient interest on here for Ian to give us a forum, then we could easily start up another website/forum to meet our needs. We can make this happen one way or another...:sneaky:
21. Umm....hard out here for an imp.....?
22. Shouldn't be hard for Chris as he was voted "worst dressed Brit".... Hey, shouldn't be hard for me either! Yay....this is my kinda party.
23. Yeah.......not bad, not bad. ;)
24. Wooo par-tay at KMs! Humm, what ever shall I wear? The eternal preparty dilemma.
25. ....when hes tryin' to get this money for the rent. :laugh4: Not a fan of that song, but geeeez, it can get stuck in your head like no other.
