COLDPLAY STAR (GUY) AND WIFE SPLIT
The other wives and Jonny's fiance seem to manage okay with the touring, so who knows... it could have been a million reasons... I guess ultimately they just didn't make each other happy :( It sounds like they were trying for ages for years to work things out so I guess sometimes it just isn't meant to be. At least Nico is so young that she won't really know what is going on. Legal Princess - Here is what Joanna looks like (from a Harpers and Queen article last year) I hope all the other Coldplay couples are stilly happy! :)

chris martin virginity
Years ago I read in one of the the glossy magazines of those hideous 'I dumped Chris Martin and look at him now!' articles by a girl who he used to go out with. There were photos of them together, -as in 'together' - so he's obviously had some kind of relationship, whether it was serious or not. She was pretty much saying that he used to be completely goofy and not that smooth with the ladies (! :laugh3: ) and in the end she broke up with him. And now he's gone on to become an international superstar! :D Anyway, this whole topic is kind of weirding me out... so I'm gonna stop posting in it

COLDPLAY STAR (GUY) AND WIFE SPLIT
That is really sad. It sounds like Nico wasn't planned from the way the quotes are phrased. I guess it happened and they just tried to make the best of it, but it didin't work out... I hope he gets the privacy he needs. But what kind of "friend" says all that to someone from the press?! About the extent of the debt of the shop and their supposed reasons for breaking up. That is a pretty detailed account of what happened... if of course it is even true. That "friend" should have kept their mouths shut and let the couple decide when to make an announcement, or not at all. Hope that "friend" feels really crap about saying all that stuff...

WHERE ARE THE BAND? COME IN COLDPLAY...
Hopefully locked away in their studio in Hampstead writing and recording the next album! I guess we won't see much of them for a while as they are working and not making any public appearances... unless someone takes a trip to Hampstead for a stake-out! :P

Coldplay Band Together At Top Of Rich List
It's a shame for them that being 'worth' £30 million doesn't actually mean they have it! These lists are so silly!:P

Bad news everyone :(
If Chris is going to start growing watermelons, Jonny can start on the carrots, Guy can do the beans and Will can be the chief vegetable taster... :dozey:

Bad news everyone :(
David S. - you are a cruel man!! :laugh3:

Bad news everyone :(
Err, please tell me I'm not the first one to realise this is an April Fools joke? Last years was better - when they announced Jonny had married Chloe. I actually believed that one! :laugh3:

WAAAH ... baby #3!!!!!!
I don't think for a second Gwyneth is actually pregnant, but I don't think it would make that big a difference to the schedule for the album/touring. They'd have another 7/8 months to work on the album before the baby even comes - hopefully the recording would be done by then! Chris worked right up until a few days before Moses was born, so I don't think he'd put anything on hold now. If they are recording in their own studio they would be in London so can spend time with their families and work on the album. And they all seem happy to bring their babies on tour - Will brought baby Ava along and Gwyneth came out to Mexico with the kids. They had three new babies last year and they still managed a world tour! I'm not worried about one of them having another baby - but I would be very surprised!

WAAAH ... baby #3!!!!!!
I doubt it's true. One minute they're reported as about to break up and the next minute their having a baby... I can't keep up! She said in an interview very recently that she didn't want anymore kids right now. It would be an odd thing to say if she had just got pregnant again...

Gwyneth Paltrow And Chris Martin To Get Wild Neighbours?
I really hope they don't move too near - the last things Chris and his family need are even more paparazzi hanging around. their house. Two celeb couples in one street and they'll camp outside for good - especially when it's someone like Kate Moss and total mess Pete :(

Coldplay in Argentina: newspaper article
Come on, you don't seriously think he's off with every girl in the crowd?! Chris is about the last person on earth who'd pull a groupie! :laugh3: Oh, and I think he was only joking around about Marah Carey!

Gwyneth...
I hate articles like that - they always manage to get it totally wrong! Chris had every right to be pissed off as one of the first questions they asked him was what his favourite sexual position was with Gwyneth... I think I would have walked out after that! Poor Chris, if you watch the video from the conference he really did try to keep a sense of humour about it but the press just kept on going on about Gwyneth... How on earth did the press manage to come of as the good guys in thsi one?!

Coldplay "we'll be back with a massive show" and why they didn't play new songs
I think that rather than wanting to, they feel they ought to take more of the burden of the press, as they feel bad for the grief that Chris gets. But as you say, most of the time what we actually see or read is in the hands of the press or tv companies, who are more interested in Chris because he's the front man and his marriage... Maybe Chris does sit back and let the others say their piece during interviews but we rarely get to see it because it's edited out or not printed... shame, but it's proabably true. Fudge - When you said that the boys start saying something and Chris finishes off their sentences, it reminded me of an old married couple! :laugh3:

Coldplay "we'll be back with a massive show" and why they didn't play new songs
I don't think it's naive to think that the boys actually choose to stay out of the press and avoid attention. Fame is only one aspect of recognition of talent and not everyone needs that kind of attention to feel like they have accomplished something. Jonny, Will and Guy seem content with the knowledge that their music is appreciated by fans and music critics and that they sell millions of albums. They don't need the press singling them out for recognition and heaping personal praise on them to know that they're successful. Also they have families and personal lives that they want to protect. By opening themselve up to the press and putting themselves more in the spotlight they inevitably expose other aspects of their life to public scrutiny. Family and privacy have always been paramount to them - more important than personal recognition. When you think about it that way, keeping out of the public eye as much as possible seems pretty sensible! They get to be part of one of the the biggest band's around and also live totally normal, private lives with their families.

Coldplay "we'll be back with a massive show" and why they didn't play new songs
You always get the impression that Guy, Will and Jonny are quite shy... whereas Chris is like an excitable kid! :laugh3: They've been together for over ten years and everyone seems happy with the position they have in the band. They are really close friends so in private the others probably have their say and are more dominate, but in public Guy, Will and Jonny choose to sit back and maintain their privacy. If anyone was going to be annoyed with that I'd think it would be Chris, not the other boys - he's the one who gets all the pressure from the press as a result...

Coldplay "we'll be back with a massive show" and why they didn't play new songs
I think Will, Guy and Jonny LIKE not doing press etc - they seem to avoid it as much as possible and have always said they are happy not being in the spotlight and don't envy Chris after seeing how crazy it has got with the paps etc. Perhaps we assume it's Chris stealing the limelight a bit, but maybe the boys just actively try to keep themselves in the background. And avoiding the press is the best way to do it...

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
Is it just me, or does Guy look a bit like teen-wolf in that last picture... It's the hair and sideburns - he looks like he's gonna change into a a werewolf with the next full moon :laugh3: And I love that picture around the table - that mystery extra hand just makes me laugh every time I see it!

Coldplay "we'll be back with a massive show" and why they didn't play new songs
Chris always gets a bit over excited about things, opens his mouth and then regrets it!! :laugh3: They changed their minds, it's nothing personal! Perhaps when they started writing the songs they thought they'd be at a stage to play them live, but then changed their mind after working on the songs for a while. Fair enough! If I'm working on something (not music!) I hate to show it to people before it's finished and exactly how I want it - I imagine they are a bit like that about their music. I think airing the songs too early just asks for too much speculation and hype, especially given the probably won't release an album until next year... By the time they actually released the album, the songs they played would be picked to pieces and over-analysed by the press and they'll probably not even be close to how the final versions end up. I can't imagine that would help the creative process... All good things come to those who wait! :D

El Murcurio: Coldplay 'Angers Chile With High Prices, Poor Access'
But this is what I mean - despite his job, he IS just a regular person. And regular people feel harrassed and stressed out sometimes. We know he appreciates his fans - which is why he went out more than once to sign autographs and give out tickets in Chile. But he's not super-human. It is a shame that people have these experieces, and I'd be disapointed too, but people also have to understand that it's not personal, he's just under enormous amounts of stress that none of us can even begin to understand. It's easy to say that he owes the fans who put him there, but none of us have people coming up to us all day everyday, asking for things from us. It must be really exhausting to have that non-stop demand on you. For every one bad experience that a fan has had meeting Coldplay, there seems to be several who have had an amazing time. That's good enough for me. They are only human...

Random Coldplay thoughts...
I LOVE his moustache too! He does look sexy! That man gets more handsome each time I see him! :D

El Murcurio: Coldplay 'Angers Chile With High Prices, Poor Access'
I think it's probably really hard at the moment - by the looks of things there have been crowds ofscreaming fans outside the hotel and paps following them around whenever they leave the hotel. He came out a few times to sign things and give out tickets, but I guess that sometimes he just wants to get on with things and have a bit of time to himself. I know that it means that some people are disappointed when meeting him, but sadly I guess he must get so many people wanting to chat that it must be hard to be cheerful and fully engaged all the time with everyone. I don't think he's a bad person - he wouldn't have come out twice to see people outside the hotel if he was, or given the free tickets. I think he's probably just stressed and tired from being on tour and is constantly in demand. At the moment it's just like having the pap's outside your house all the time... which would drive anyone crazy!

El Murcurio: Coldplay 'Angers Chile With High Prices, Poor Access'
It is sad that lots of people don't get the opportunity to go, but I don't think that that is down to the band themselves - it's the promoters. And at least the band have tried to give the biggest fans - those waiting outside for hours to meet them - the opportunity to go for free. Most bands wouldn't do that. Also I don't think people realise just how expensive it is to tour countries in places like South America. They have to transport all their equipment, fly all their staff and pay them their usual wages and pay for hotels for them all etc. The record company don't foot any of the bill for touring, so I actually doubt the boys make much or any profit from touring in these countries...

Brian Eno producing the new album!!! OMG!
As much as I love the first two albums, I think it would be a mistake to stick to only one producer everytime. It's good to try new things, otherwise it would just get samey - and it's never good to try to reproduce the same sound as an earlier album, as it never ends up sounding as good... I don't think Eno produced or had anything to do with X&Y. It was Danton Supple, wasn't it?
