  1. I really don't want to argue this out either... I tried to end this a few posts ago. But before you start criticising us 'girls' Mandy, you may want to look back at your own posting history. I seem to remember you posting about Guy's wife Joanna, calling her 'Gold Bag Lady', and commenting on the other girlfriends. How exactly is that any better than posting pictures of Gwyneth? In fact, if anything it is worse. Perhaps everyone - me, Tom and Mandy, should stop being so self-rightious and end this. It must be getting boring for everyone else that posts in this form to listen to other people debating... Lets just agree to disagree and get on with the threads that we want to post in.
  2. Merry Christmas everyone. Hope you all had a lovely day :) Bring on 2007! :D
  3. Oh for goodness sake Tom. Is there something wrong with you?! I guess you're just not in the Christmas spirit... Well, okay. I disagree that Gwyneth has nothing to do with the music of Coldplay. On the contrary, a large number of songs from X&Y were written about or for Gwyneth. 'Fix You', for example, is written for Gwyneth after her father died. Is about her loss and Chris' desire to help her through her grief. The whole album is dedicated to her father. So, yes, Gwyneth, her family, and the couple's relationship does actually relate to the music of Coldplay. In the same way many artists have a muse, Chris' wife is an influence for his lyrics. As for the rest of your points, they are not really arguments - just you looking to get a rise from people. So, I really can't be bothered to answer them... So, again, I hope you had a good Christmas.
  4. Merry Christmas Mr Buckland, wherever you are! I hope he and Chloe are having a lovely christmas doing whatever they do! Because it's christmas, here's one of my favourite Jonny photos- an old one but always a good one! (photo from Coldplaying.com)
  5. Okay, Tom. Whatever you say. I actually don't care about the point enough to carry on the discussion. For Christmas peace and harmony on the board, perhaps it's more constructive not to voice opinions about how good, or bad, people's threads are. Merry Christmas everyone! :) :)
  6. You're entitled to your opinion, but I think the key thing on this board should be toleration. The subject of Gwyneth is not offensive and it is related to Coldplay, so people should tolerate what people want to write about. There are good moderators here to stop offensive threads. Leave it to them to decide what is appropriate or not. If someone does not agree with the thread or is not interested in reading it, then they simply don't have to click on it. That is the way it works. If you would prefer to discuss other coldplay related themes, then create some new threads or find ones you like. It is more offensive and damaging to the board to have people calling other users 'pathetic' and that kind of name calling. Lets just try to tolerate each other, or don't post here.
  7. I think he came from a religious family (i.e his parents) but as far as I've read/heard, he's not a regular church goer or anything like that. Gwyneth comes from a Jewish family, I think.
  8. I don't think the south american tour was it... they announced it before christmas and it's in February so it's not really related to christmas. And it's not for everyone. I reckon they'll do another short video - bit like the 'nappies' kind of thing. Something silly for the internet. I hope so, anyway.
  9. One of the songs they played just before they came on stage was a Beatles song... I think another one is mix that uses the voice of Martin Luther King - one of his speeches... don't know who the mix is by... sorry
  10. Just ignore him. He's obviously just lacking attention in his life and the only way he can get it is by spamming on websites. Feel sorry for him
  11. I hope she's not going to do a Britney Spears in that dress! :laugh3: :laugh3:
  12. Are you eight years old, by any chance? Save it for the playground.
  13. Its an old photo. There were pictures of him passed out in a club on the web ages ago. The people who took his shoes didn't reallise it was Guy when they did it, until someone told them after. Then they put them up on the web. They just thought he was some drunk bloke and thought it would be funny to take his shoes (they said they gave them back after taking the photos) It's pretty mean but I guess that's what happens when you get that drunk in public!! :laugh3: :P
  14. The other three would prefer to stay out of the limelight so they seem to avoid press whenever they can. Shame for us! :( Both Jonny and Guy have said in interviews that they'd rather stay out of the press if they can and Will keeps his personal life the most private of them all. I guess it is part of being a front man to deal with the bulk of the interviews... He's not being selfish or arrogant.
  15. Yes, but remember the last time when the British press went off on one about her supposed comments about how dirty and horrible Britain was and everyone over here got all outranged about it ... and those were just blown out of proportion. Just the press twisting words to get a reaction from the readers - more of a story Could this possible have happened again but the other way around!?!!!! :o :o
  16. Jonny, Will and Chris were photographed at a Strokes gig not that long ago so I guess they like them... Not sure I agree that they took their sound straight from U2 and made a few alterations... I'm not a mad fan of U2 but and a great fan of coldplay...
  17. It's a photo of the band 'At the Lake'. One of the guys in it is called Tim Buckland, which we believe is Jonny's brother. Jonny was spotted at one of their gigs a while back and that is what people said. I think he's the one second from the right...
  18. Have any of you stopped to think that the band may actually have been thinking of the fans when they decided to air the footage on tv instead of on a DVD? Whilst most of us can afford to buy a DVD and would be happy to - some people can't and would totally miss out on the performance. By putting it on TV allows the majority of people to see and record it, not just those who have £15.99 to spend on a DVD... Everyone is so outraged about not being able to buy it, when some people might just be grateful they get to see it at all... If you want something to rewatch, then record it. If you can't get the tv channel then get it off the internet - that's where it will end up way. Either way, think about the people who might not be able to afford to buy a DVD then question how terrible the boys are for putting it on public tv... maybe then we can finally stop going on about this and accept their decision... :(
  19. It hasn't been confirmed, but his brother is rumoured to be Tim Buckland in the band 'At The Lake'. They have a Myspace page and there are review of the band on the web. The music is really good. Here is a picture of the band...
  20. Don't think so...not since the Jay-Z after party :( Someone needs to go and hang out with a camera in Camden! :laugh3:
  21. X&Y was great enough to be the biggest selling album in the world in 2005! It would be stupid to be giving them loads of awards on a year that they haven't released a new album. I think they already knew that they weren't going to get the Q award because they didn't even bother going to the ceremony, despite being in London at the time. I think they're not bothered about winning awards for X&Y now - they've moved onto the new album. I prefer that! :)
  22. I hope you come back on the forum and read these replies... It really wasn't his actual views - it's exactly the opposite. Rayman is right - it was satire - he was saying those things to ridicule people who actually do think those crazy things... I am sorry that they upset you, but it really isn't what you think :)
  23. It doesn't surprise me that they didn't get it this year, purely because they got it last year. 'Q' - and most award givers - like to share them out to keep everyone happy and keep things varied. Also, Coldplay didn't attend the show, but Oasis and U2 both did. Apparently that counts for a lot when they are deciding who wins what! Anyway, I don't think the 'Q' award is exactly super presigious (like the Ivor Novello award or the Grammy's)... it's just a magazine after all.
  24. Found this - slightly strange - video diary of a woman shopping at Jezebel (Guy and Joanna's clothes shop). Joanna isn't in it (nor is Guy sadly!!) It's her work partner Kate Brindley. But you get a good idea of the inside of the shop... looks fancy! It's a bit weird but here's the link if anyone wants to know what the shop is like... http://www.rachaeloteh.com/shoppinglores.html
