Both great songs, but in the same context, are both a little too slow and repetitive. Thats pretty much why they only ended up B-Sides. However, Gravity's ending is spectacular I'll give it that ;)

Absolutely Speed of Sound. It was a perfect launch video for X&Y and it was really original from a video standpoint.

lol Fact of the matter is if Coldplay tried changing for everyone's opinions, they'd probably end up with nothing and a ton of frustration. If I could change something, I'd tell them to do more of what they want, and not what others like the record company wants.

The Hardest Part rules!

Both songs run around the same genre of sound, yet Low is a bit more of a darker song than Things I Don't Understand. I've always felt Low wasn't catchy as their Speed of Sound B-Side, but maybe Coldplay was just trying to keep their album varied. Which song do you think is better, or for that matter, should have been on the album? Personally I like listening to Things I Don't Understand much more than Low.

Coldplay aren't our hand puppets you know lol. I back whatever decision they make, cause who wants them to stop making their music anyway? I say we should just let them relax with the single. They've been working much too hard lately anyway ;)

Freaking record companies can be such rude people, even to the artists. I mean, who thinks Coldplay is gonna stay with EMI once their contract is over? Possibly, but they've already let out their feelings toward those impatient money makers. I feel as if they're kinda stuck with EMI whether they like it or not for now, and when they get the chance, they'll give em the slip.

Well the boys at Coldplay.com said it themselves that it will be a radio only single, so I'd have to believe that, unless some kid at the news board was drunk or something. Otherwise, why wouldn't they tell anything other than the truth? Unless of course they only meant this for the US... and other countries may in fact get singles with bonus tracks. Plus, wouldnt it be crazy if there was another Coldplay video lol. Not saying that would happen at all, but if there was a much more serious one, I think fans would be overjoyed, not to mention they would laugh at the fact the Coldplay played a gag. Unfortunately, this is probably not the case :D

The FOOTAGE is from a long time ago. The band just overdubbed and put themselves behind the dancers with CG. You can definitely see the texture differences between Coldplay and the two dancers when their clips intertwine. Watch the video, trust me.

Thats ABSOLUTELY correct. Someone with some sense out here :D. People need to realize that Coldplay isn't big on all this recent pressure, and with all the commercial $$ to be made out there, Coldplay is just saying thats not what their music is about. Anyone remember that Coldplay turned down deals for Gap, Gatorade, and others to have Yellow as their song? Coldplay is the biggest and the best band in the world no questions asked, and they know it

Yeah Itzhak rocked :D. Can a score so simple, though, win an oscar like that? Thats just like Million Dollar Baby getting its score nominated last time. I mean comon (no offense Mr. Eastwood) but if you listen to the score on iTunes, its like a broken record

COMPLETE BULL!!! John William's scores were both incredible (Memoirs and Munich). On Memoirs you've got Yo-yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman playing together on such a beautiful score, with that perfect sense of Japanese culture. Its a true gem in this century's original scores. Munich captured the tension of the audience so well, and John Williams really helped that out. Its one of his finer suspense scores over the years. Then ya got Brokeback Mountain by whoever that guy is. Sure it was really simple and went with the movie well, but dang. Simple just doesn't cut it, especially if the same theme is repeated over and over and over again in the film. I dunno. If anyone else has a different opinion on this I'd definitely like to hear it. I just feel like that score winning was such a mistake over the other really great scores.

I think the point is that Coldplay likes variety in their singles. The Hardest Part is a very brave and wise decision as a fourth single. I mean White Shadows, Swallowed in the Sea, What If, Square One, etc are all great songs, but The Hardest Part is pretty unique in the album. I love it :-D.
