I'm just glad the sprinklers didn't go off on my floor-- I would be devastated if all my lovely Coldplay wall decorations were ruined! Especially the ones I made last night with Chavi's butterflies...

hahaha, I know, but what else is there to do this late at night? We should have a chat room or go to MSN or AIM or something... :P Okay, so here's my story: I live in a dormitory on my college (or uni :P) campus, and tonight we had a routine fire drill. They usually last only a couple of minutes. Well, when the fire alarm went off, some people were cooking and left the building without turning off the stove, therefore causing a real fire. And then we were all stuck outside in the cold for a couple of hours, and you could see flames in the windows! A student actually put out most of the fire with a fire extinguisher before the fire trucks even got here! Luckily, no one was hurt and there wasn't much damage to anyone's rooms because the fire was contained to the kitchen... so it's okay too laugh at it. Perhaps the first time in history a fire drill, meant to make us safer in the event of a real fire, caused a fire!! I still can't get over it!

Aw, thanks Lore! Isn't Chavi the best?! :D She sent me SO MANY! Those pictures (and the envelopes which say the date of the show) were from her as well- I thought I would include them in the decoration! What's everyone else doing with their butterflies? I want some pictures, people!!! :P

If I was a member of Coldplay I would start getting nervous right about now... :uhoh: Just kidding-- you guys are doing a great job of figuring this all out! :D

I had to do something like this as well for an English class in high school. I picked Green Eyes, though of course those were the pre- X & Y days, so there are many more to choose from now. Green Eyes is a favorite of mine though, so I think if I had to do a similar assignment now I might pick that one anyway. :)

Oh man, last night I had a dream that I heard that almost everyone who entered in this Yahoo contest won!!! I was so happy for you guys, but of course dying of jealousy myself. :P And then I woke up... I hate waking up from a good Coldplay dream. And thanks Christa, I'm doing well :D- as much as it makes me sad I can't see them on this leg I am hoping and praying they make it around the NYC/LI (too bad they are too big to play Jones Beach now :() area again!

Hey guys! I just thought I would post a couple pictures of what I've done with some of the butterflies I've received so far. The ones here are from Chavi (and I have even more from her and some from Felix (Winnie) as well!), and I think I will make some kind of collage with the rest of them: Butterflies from Lyon! :) ... and butterflies from Paris!! :D I am loving this so much, everyone! Yes, 101.9 is a new station (it used to be a kind of crappy smooth jazz station)... I listened to it online the other day, actually. They do play some classic rock, but they also play a lot of newer alternative rock stuff too (and yes, they play quite a bit of Coldplay! :D). Sorry to get off topic there- I can't think about this upcoming NY show too much, I get too depressed that I won't be nearby. :(

I walked around my campus this afternoon and took a bunch of pictures because it was so pretty outside and I was kind of sort of thinking that they might look nice on a postcard... :blush:

jeez, I go to class for an hour and a half and I miss so much!!! :P I can only imagine how much I will miss out when I have to work for 4 hours tonight... :uhoh:

Ohhh yay every time I get back from class or wherever I go and read everything that's been added to this thread I get so excited! I do like the idea for having a template for the back side of the postcard... that way there is plenty of room for people to get creative on the front and then on the back they will all look they came from the same group of people!

I looove the Logo (and I really like Chavi's idea about changing the background to match our flags... but I don't know how to do that :P). I definitely think it should say "Postcards from Far Away Project" on it somewhere as well.

Hahahaha... I know, it's getting a little ridiculous. I went to sleep as soon as I signed off last night and now that I'm up I'm back here. Oh well, what do I expect I guess?

Last night Chelsea (approximatelyinfinite) said she would get to work on designing some kind of logo. :) As soon as it's all done, I'm sure it will get posted up here!

Hmmm.... really? When Chavi sent me butterflies from France it only took a few days. :flutterby: Maybe it made a difference that it was an envelope and not a postcard, so the shipping was more?:thinking:

This thread popped around 10:30 PM New York time last night, and kept many of us Coldplayers from doing our homework or going to bed on time... :laugh3: But it's amazing how fast the thread grew- probably because we are really excited about it!

Hmmm, well that would depend on how they're being mailed, which we're still not sure of. Okay, I am for real going now (on an even 500th post!). Good night everyone! I will dream of more possibilities for this wonderful project! :)

Oh, I do like the idea that, if you absolutely can't fit everything you need to on one postcard, attach them, maybe just with a paperclip or something.

This is has been wonderful, everyone.... but I think I need to start considering going to sleep soon, as it is past midnight and I do have class in the morning. :(

I think that's a really good idea... I just don't know how I'm going to fit all the pictures and everything I'm thinking about on just one postcard! Hahaha. But I agree, sending just one would make it more meaningful, and there would be less of a chance Coldplay would feel like they're being spammed by us. :P

:laugh3: Sounds good to me... maybe I should just teach classes on Coldplay Appreciation. I think I would be pretty good at that...

because we just love them that much... ;)
