  1. You miss the point. Most of the categories at both these events are open to anyone from anywhere in the world. Just because they have 'British' in the title doesn't make them exclusive, it's just the name! And they have British-only categories in part because America tends to dominate things, understandably, and especially in the realm of film, so it is kind of nice to have something the home fans can look forward to. If we're getting pedantic care to explain why World Series Baseball is open only to teams from the US?
  2. Live recordings of the shows you attended - about bloody time!! I was honestly going to email the Oracle yesterday asking why they don't do this. Great news :)
  3. Moar moar moar... understanding of what 'moar' means please?!! :P
  4. I've just had it confirmed that it may be as late as a 1:30 finish for the gig, so nightbuses look like the only way to get anywhere, and I won't be able to attend unless my London friends answer my texts asap and offer me a sofa to crash on in time for me to promise to buy the ticket i've been offered...

A very interesting point, and thank you, you have made me think a bit more. I agree that it's worse for the media to buy the rights than it is for her to offer them, but it's very chicken and egg, isn't it? At the end of the day she's a despicable person with an even worse boyfriend (husband now?) who has made money from selling every aspect of her life. She now has a terminal illness, for which I'm sure we are all terribly sorry, but she spends her time still selling her stories to whoever will pay the most?? Sickening.
  6. Thanks a lot Ian and everyone else! I thought the Empire was only licensed till half twelve on weekdays but maybe i'm mistaken, and that's a moot point as my last train from Charing Cross leaves then anyway... So, I need to not only be feeling a bit better tomorrow and therefore fit to attend the gig, but also work out somewhere to stay afterwards. Hmmm.

Eh? She's the one selling them the stories!!

She's an attention whore. Everybody in the world faces death at some point. I have myself, and lived to tell the tale. I have also had one of my family members die in my arms. Selling the film rights to your death so your kids can be rich? Disgusting. This woman should have been banned from public life when she racially abused Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big Brother. Unfortunately there's no moral force big enough in the UK to lead any public sense, and Heat magazine et al will continue to buy up the rights. She's a nobody who has made millions, somehow, from that very fact. I have huge sympathy for sufferers of terminal illness, and as I say I have had people die in my arms from it, but they didn't so much as kick up a fuss in the local papers. To go public when you have acted so badly for so long, and all in the name of money, is quite sickening, but nothing less than we have come to expect from Ms Goody. Have some bloody dignity. I pity those kids being brought up in the future by that insidious Tweedy. A nasty piece of work indeed.
  9. Does everyone think this will really finish so very late? I know the Empire has a permanent late licence, but I need to get home to Kent afterwards as I don't really have anywhere to stay in London...
  10. Aw shit, I've been offered a ticket at face value by a very kind chap, am desperate to go (of course!) but just not been feeling too well today...so very much hope I am a little better tomorrow and able to join all you guys... :( <edit> beth, lovely siggy! were you there with us?
  11. Chris said so! Highlights for me were Square One, and the guitar smashing :P
  12. It'll be card names/details. And if you've paid for and got your tickets printed everything will be fine :)
  13. Also, as it's such a small venue, the cloakroom (on the left as you go in to the actual hall) isn't much of a hassle, so don't worry about taking too many coats and scarves, just put them together so you only have to pay one cloakroom fee. The area with the merchandise stand on the right as you face the stage (the one by the loos) can be a nightmare, and the bar at the back under the balcony is great but the view and sound are not good from there. My spot of choice is always by the bar to the left on the floor - perfect view, dancing space, and easy access to the Carling :D
  14. The balconies are seated, and very nice they are too. Downstairs is standing. I'll be stood in the cheapest area at this rate (aka 'outside')!! :P
  15. Does it work if you move your clock forward a bit? * goes off to the Doctor Who thread * :p
  16. Debs, anything at all will be fine :) We're just so glad that the project worked out (THANKS TO YOU!) and that the boys liked the postcards! Whatever the news is, no matter how small, it will make everyone's day here :sunny:
  17. WAKE UP LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE <edit> morning! :)
  18. Can this thread be retitled 'All of Coldplaying is waiting for Lore to wake up' please?! :D
  19. The Chilean moderator's sleeping routine is clearly a Lore unto herself... (ouch, sorry, couldn't resist repeating that bad 'joke' :laugh3::cool:)
