You might want to check the venue website. I'm going to the Tampa show, and want to bring my Nikon D40. I snuck it in to the Irvine, CA show last month, but this is what it says for Tampa : "Items not allowed in this venue include professional cameras with S, M, or L detachable lenses, audio and video recorders, alcoholic beverages or soft drinks, large or hard coolers, weapons of any kind (this includes pocket knives and watch chains), laser pointers, and glass or metal containers." My camera, though it has a detachable lens, is not a professional camera with any of those lenses but i'm going to print out this page if there is any problem. Of course, I won't "advertise" that I have my camera, but if they ask about it...

I was the same way when I won the tix from the radio station. The tix I bought were pretty good, but I wanted to make sure the radio station tix were better. They were, thank goodness, but I didn't know that until 12 days before the concert. Luckily, I was able to sell them to my neighbor. Your kids do know, don't they, that you get the better seats? ha ha.

I'm so excited for you! That's how I felt when I won the meet and greet. And you get a mini vacation with your family out of it, too. How old are your kids? Two of mine have come with me - my oldest son in 2005, and my 13 year old on July 18. It's fun to share it with them, even though they think mom is totally whacked when it comes to Coldplay. :laugh3: I suppose you'll still need that tip jar out to feed the kids now!

No, it was good to ask for confirmation. But I get a lot of real mail in my spam box too. I always skim before deleting. What was the email address he sent it from? A generic like gmail or yahoo, or babelgum? To enter the contest, you just needed to give your email address and they would contact you if you won (that's what it said on the UK site).

Well, i can't exactly drive back home, lol. My flight doesn't leave until 2:30 on Monday. I'd love to stay at the Hard Rock, but online prices are high, and I'm too afraid to try priceline or hotwire to try to get it. Maybe I'll call the hotel directly, and see if they can give me a better rate. How far do you have to drive? It's taken me about 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot at the last 2 concerts, so by then it's about midnight. Can't wait to meet everyone. I know gates open at, what, 4? What time are people starting to line up? I have all day in Tampa...

Well, the Coldplay karma in the universe will be balanced in 5 days, because I will be in the pit in Tampa! I decided last week that I *had* to be there. My husband was awesome, and said "go" so I'm going by myself. I used frequent flyer miles on Delta, so I just had to buy the pit ticket, pay for the hotel and car. And I'm getting to stay overnight Saturday in Atlanta to visit a dear friend and her family before flying to Tampa early Sunday morning. So I will have seen the first (July 14, 2008) and last US show (August 9, 2009) of the Viva la Vida tour.

Raising hand! Me! I'm flying from Orange County, CA, arriving in Atlanta Saturday afternoon, then on to Tampa Sunday morning, landing at 10:10. Still trying to decide on a hotel for Sunday night, and it would be nice if I could get one with an early check-in on Sunday. Also Kelly (kspillers2) and her mother in law have pit tickets. I'm so excited.

Great list...I used to go to those huge festival concerts way back in the hairband 80s - think Journey, Rolling Stones, Live Aid, with many lesser bands, that would last all day, at huge venues like the LA Coliseum and the Rose Bowl. Now, I just don't want to deal with that (but I am NOT old, lol), and I don't want to deal with drunk and/or stoned people. One of the reasons I don't really want to see U2 at the Rose Bowl, too freaking big. The pit at a normal concert is different, though. At least, Coldplay-only crowds are more civilized, it sounds like.

I have a pic that I took of him in his purple shirt, my favorite shirt of his, during LIT2, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to resize the damn thing to fit in my sig. I can't upload from iPhoto, because I can't make it smaller. I tried emailing myself a small pic, but it's still too big. And when I tried doing it from photobucket, it keeps showing a blue question mark in the sig pic box. grrr

I was so like that with the after-show withdrawal, that I couldn't stand it and had to go to another show. Which is why I'm doing something totally unlike me and going to Tampa this weekend by myself, just to see them in the US again. I would love to go to Wembley, Sept 18 is my birthday, but it's a long trip from CA. But I'd want to be right in front, screw these huge stadiums where they look like ants, lol. He's just beautiful, standing a foot away from him, and unfortunately, it was so rushed that I sounded like a total fangirl idiot. I was just thinking, holy crap, he's right here in front of me, looking at me, what do I do? Introduce myself, like he'd remember my name. And my husband was all, Will, my wife wants to meet you. This was just before Chris came over to shake our hands, then I bailed on Chris to follow Will and left Chris with my husband And I "Will" make it my avi. :)
