  1. Hey, there's no one left to play with if you all go to bed...it's only 9:00 here.
  2. I like your shirt! Maybe I'll try the iron on butterfly thing, but it will only look good if the colors are somewhat true. I have the transfers. Did you sew the Coldplay on the back? I am *so* not a sew-er. Maybe I'll wear my purple scarf in honor of Will :)
  3. I'll bring my rewards card, too, just in case. And no, the Holiday Inn is really small, so I'm sure no casino. But the HRH is only a short drive away and will still be open. Green Eyes, you're still a young'un! Less than 2 years older than my oldest daughter :stunned:
  4. I'm not sure what to wear this time. July 18, I wore my blue "official" Coldplay butterfly tshirt, July 19, I wore my own butterfly t-shirt. I had a crazy idea to take my confetti butterflies, take a picture of them, then print them out on t-shirt iron-on transfer paper and decorate my own t-shirt, but I don't know if that's too cheesy or not. And I've been wondering if I should bring a sign, but I'm not really a sign person, and it just means more stuff to carry. I'll have my camera, and probably a water bottle or two, in my purse, and I'm not a big purse person either...what to do what to do...
  5. Oh man, what a beautiful smile. :sweatdrop: I adore the little mohawk thing he has going now too.
  6. Assignment #2 - Will of course Assignment #3 - Fix You Assignment #4 - Clocks
  7. So I looked at the Hard Rock and Holiday Inn Express. Both are right by the venue but on complete opposite sides. I am totally up for heading to the Hard Rock bar after the concert for a drink and am leaning towards the HI because it's way less expensive and has an earlier check in and free breakfast. You both have my number so call or text. Can't wait!
  8. Ha ha - were you changing their nappies?
  9. It's way past my one year anniversary. When that Peter Pan movie trailer came out at the end of 2003, I really fell in love with Clocks, and it's still my favorite Coldplay song. So I bought AROBTTH, and listened to it all the time. But I wasn't obsessed yet. Then X&Y came out and I loved it, too. I went to my first concert in August 2005, and thought "who *are* these guys?" I joined coldplaying.com around the time of the Feb 2006 concert, but I lurked for a long long time. When the boys came back in Feb 2006, and I saw them again. then I became obsessed. That's when I started searching for B-sides and bootlegs. When they announced the Viva Tour, I was really excited, but then immediately bummed out because their first show was the day of our famiy vacation. I was seriously tempted to fly to Hawaii a day later than my family to go to the concert. Thank God, it sold out quickly and another show was added the day BEFORE our vacation! And well, the obsession has grown considerably over this last year. I can't get enough, and I think it's starting to concern my husband a bit. He did ask, the other day, if I really wanted to go to Wembley, Sept 18 is my birthday. But then I think of the logistics of our kids, 2 in high school and 1 fifth grader, and well, mom responsibilities or Coldplay? The funny thing, too, is my husband I went to Asia in February to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The day we were flying back to Los Angeles from Bangkok, we had a connection in Tokyo, guess what day that was? Yes, the day of Saitama. How cool would that have been? We talked to United about doing a layover, but because it would have been longer than 24 hours, they would have charged us a HUGE additional fee. The whole time during our layover in Tokyo, I was dying, knowing the boys were just a few miles away from me, halfway around the world from home.
  10. I was wondering about the Reward Zone because I've see some concert reports that mention reward zone people go in first. Wonder if there is a late night bar or restaurant at that hotel that we can hang out at after? I know I will be way too hyper to sleep right away, and a nightcap or two may help :P
  11. Was there a Best Buy Reward Zone presale code for this concert?
  12. Clocks LIT2 42 Fix You Viva
  13. It's still awesome that you won free tickets, and this way you can share the love with your kids. And move up in the "mom is cool" ranks - a rank I am sadly losing over the curfew battle with my 16 year old son ("but WHY can't I go out at midnight to my friend's house, just down the street" is the discussion we had last night:\) FOUR DAYS!
  14. Yes, it's totally normal. I've been to many concerts, too (put it this way, when I saw my first concert when I was 13 - Andy Gibb - Chris was a year old), and the boys have more of an effect on me than any other band. I think it's because they just seem like 4 humble normal guys who like to make music together, rather than some big headed divas/divos. Even Bruce Springsteen, whom I've seen a dozen times, didn't have this effect on me. The first time I saw U2, they were the opening band for J Geils Band, lol.
  15. No, just Tampa. I'm coming from CA, and I really can't get away for more than a couple of days, between my husband's work schedule and our kids on summer vacation. So by just going to Tampa, I leave here Saturday and come home Monday afternoon. I am going to stop in Atlanta to visit a good friend, because my flight connects there.
  16. The boys have that effect on people. I was so freaking depressed after the two shows in two days for like a week. I think I was freaking my husband out (and there was some tough stuff that we were dealing with with our oldest daughter around that time, and Coldplay was taking me to my "happy place"). I felt so let down because the meet and greet didn't go quite as planned, and let down because I knew it was the last time for a long time that I'd see them. And I just felt this bizarre compulsion to see them one last time, and I'm so thankful it worked out. Starfish, you had an amazing experience where it all fell into place, and you can hold on to that for a long, long time.
  17. Who needs the band? We can make our own afterparty! Ok, ok, I need the band. I need Will again.
  18. Gotcha - well hotels close to the concert are the Embassy Suites and Hard Rock Hotel, according to their websites. Let me know when you find out - you have my number. and we can have a drink after the concert. I will be way too wired to sleep!
  19. I thought they were giving you two night's hotel? Or are you just staying one night and using the other room for the kids?
  20. So will you stay Saturday and Sunday? I was going to fly to Tampa on Saturday, and stay 2 nights, but when all of Delta's flights go through Atlanta, I had to stop and stay overnight with my friend. I talk to her several times a week, but haven't seen her in years. Yay for glowsticks, and Chris throws out his handful of glowsticks to Guy's side.
  21. I could...there doesn't seem to be a big rush on hotel rooms in Tampa right now. Like i said, my flight gets in at 10:10am Sunday, so I have all day to hang out and stalk the amphitheater. Maybe we could meet for brunch and mimosas
  22. Wow! You get to go to Will Call and say "I'm on the band's guest list." How cool is that? That should impress your teens :laugh3: Have they told you what hotel yet? I'm about to do a hotwire - I really want to stay at the Hard Rock, just because, and I'll probably be the oldest one there, lol. But it's $$, so I looked to see what hotels are comparable in that area, and it's the HRH and Embassy Suites. Crossing my fingers...
  23. Liz, why yes, that is me and my BFF Mr Champion in my avi :D I won a meet and greet from a local radio station. I spoke to him way too briefly, but oh my god is that man hot. And in the rest of the pic, my husband is standing next to Chris, and Chris has his arm around my husband. I also shook Chris's hand...it was fabulous, but way too short, not Chris's hand, but the meet and greet.
