  1. Um. Well. Between last Saturday and this Saturday, I will be seeing them 5 times.
  2. [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LcOPJslosI[/ame] Here's my Speed of Sound video - it started out good, but then the guy next to me started singing loudly so I had to move my camera a few times, and it got a little shaky.
  3. No, they prerecorded their performance with a different live audience and AI will edit them into the show tonight.
  4. My Paradise video. I never video, so enjoy. LOL [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wx5RjEzHcUw[/ame]
  5. Well. This day was rather amazing. Last night, on our way to the Hollywood Bowl, my son called and said he got an email that said he had tickets to see Coldplay's performance on American Idol tonight. I couldn't believe it and had pretty much resigned myself to the fact that I wouldn't be going :( For big live performances, and depending on the performer's schedule, American Idol will record them ahead of time, and edit the performance into the Live Show that air tonight on Fox. So we went to the Coldplay-only portion of the show. The "regular" American Idol results show will be shown live to the east coast, with the CP performance edited in. We left early early this morning to drive the 60 miles to Los Angeles, my 14 year old daughter and me, and we were meeting my son and his friend at the studio. We got there really early, only 5 people in line, so we decided to have breakfast. This was 7am, and our tickets said to arrive by 10:30, so we figured we were fine. Had a quick bite, and went back to the line. By now, there were 17 people. I've been to Idol tapings before and I know they overbook, but since we were 18-21 in line, I knew we were fine. We waited about 2 hours before Idol staff came and checked id's, and the ticket. They let us in to the waiting area, and we went through a metal detector, and had to surrender our cell phones. We were each given 2 xylobands! I said hello to one of their crew I've spoken with a few times. And we waited another hour and a half. It's rather organized chaos, they way they file people into the studio, and at first I was concerned, because so many others were let in first. I needn't have worried! We were told to go to the front row! I was beyond excited. Saw the crew person who was happy for us for our seats :) And saw another one of their crew whom I met in San Jose. He saw me there and came over to shake my hand, and laughed when I said "I'm here again!" Then the MC, Corey, came out, to get us even more excited about seeing the boys. He chatted a bit with audience people, told us what to expect, just banter to fill up some time and get everyone in the mood - like I needed that. LOL He said the band would be performing 2 songs and might need to do more than one take. We were all fine with that. :laugh3: Then there was some tech stuff with the producer and director, and then they came out! And the crowd went crazy. Chris thanked us all for coming out so early in the morning, and they were going to sing 2 songs for us, if that was ok. They did Paradise twice. Then more MC banter and talking. T his was when I told the MC that I'm a huge fan and today was the 17th time I've seen them. A minute later, during a short break, he came back over to me and asked my name. I told him Dianne, and he said to the band, Dianne says this is the 17th time she's seen you. I about died. Chris looks at me and says, "thank you very much. You paid for my trousers. And my underwear." I wish I could have responded, but the MC had the microphone. I just gave him a smile and thumbs up. Oh my gosh, I was dying. They went through ETIAW twice and the 2nd time, they did it with lasers and the confetti. Chris was all over the stage, looking amazing as always, did his dancing right in front of me, made eye contact with those blue eyes. And then, it was all over. They didn't do a bow, but came and waved to everyone and Chris thanked all of us again. And they left. What a fun way to spend a Thursday morning!
  6. LFDianne replied to Tash's topic in Coldplay
That's me!!! My son is in the video/PSA.
  7. We couldn't stand in the aisle where C stage was but we could stand in the aisles by the boxes. Well, probably not "technically" but security didnt say anything.
  8. I was just looking through more of my pics and I got so many amazing shots. Can't wait to get home to get them on my computer and get them uploaded. And i just watched my Speed of Sound video on my camera. Its awesome - can't wait to get it on youtube! In line for American Idol now.
  9. We had Garden Box seats, but as soon as. Paradise ended, we raced up to where C stage was. . . Then for ETIAW, we moved down to the very front boxes. Before security could make us leave, we saw an empty box and stood there. Oh and our seats were near X stage so we tried getting even closer, but security made us get out of the aisle. But not before... . There are from our seats... . More later. We got tix to see the boys tape their performance for American Idol this morning...
  10. Maybe an hour. Curfew is 11pm so they'll definitely be done by then.
  11. Holy hell. That was THE most awesome show. In the car on the way home and trying to get my head around it. So fun and the boys were smiley and the crowd was so into it and..and..and.. Same setlist and all, but Chris made some reference to would we mind if they did a song they haven't played for awhile even if it is shit. Lol we ran to c stage after Paradise and were right there. Tried to video UATW but then te idiot security started yelling so I stopped. Then they asked if we would mind another song and they did acoustic SoS. I did get video of the whole thing but the dumbass next to me was singing loudly. So we will see. I took a lot of pictures, so I'll post soon. Just the energy was so high, boys were in a good mood... I enjoyed it way more than last night - don't know why but it was awesome.
  12. Oh my gosh. Took FOREVER to get here. But in the car on the way, I got some axon news. My son got tickets to the American Idol taping tomorrow! Woo hoo! Going to be an awesome few days.
  13. We are all on the "list" for tickets to American Idol. They send you an email when your name comes up. His name came up. Lol he got 4 tickets! So I didn't win from the Coldplay.com contest.
  14. OMG OMG OMG. I'm GOING!!! My son got tickets from American Idol!
  15. They won't be able to bring any cameras or even phones inside the studio. I've been to American Idol before and they make you check your devices. It will be televised anyway.
  16. No. They only notify winners and I wasn't one of them.
  17. Yes. You can bring a camera as long as it doesn't have a detachable lens.
  18. It was very cool. And they covered the hanging speakers on the front of the stage with white fabric so they also acted as a screen and didn't have black speakers detracting from the effects. Awesome. They think of everything :)
  19. And I'm leaving my house in 2 hours to head up there. Kind of hate going so early, but you never know what the traffic is going to be like, right Erick?
  20. Maybe we will have better luck meeting up tonight. Cell phone reception sucked though!
  21. There were plenty of outside vendors selling bootleg tshirts last night for $10. :(
  22. We ate really early at CPK at H&H (met my son who lives near there). Lots of restaurants at that center - from sit down to fast food. There is food inside the venue - before Coldplay came on, my husband and I shared a pulled pork sandwich was really good. There are places to get food inside, but the later you get there, the more crowded it was. There are also outside vendors selling hot dogs and grilled peppers/onions on the street.
  23. Haha. Jeremy. I went to San Jose on Saturday, May 1 and 2 at the Hollywood Bowl, and I'm going to the Weenie Roast this Saturday. Then I'm done until Tampa in June...
  24. Wow, awesome pictures...guess that's what you can do with a photo pass and a professional camera...
