Gwyneth...
http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/thats-really-week/june-4-10-ice-t-gwyneth-paltrow-using-145824657.html Gwyneth Paltrow was the subject of much debate this week. While jet-setting in Paris at Jay-Z and Kanye West's "Watch The Throne" concert, she joined them from the sidelines of the stage, took a camera phone photo and posted it on social media sites Who Say and Twitter. The problem was her caption that included the title Jay-Z and Kanye's controversial song, "N-ggas In Paris." Some have attacked Paltrow for typing "ni**gas in paris for real" underneath a photo of two African Americans, Jay-Z and Beyonce. Others like Russell Simmons, The Dream, and now Ice T have come to her defense. Veteran rapper Ice T, who has freely used the N-word in his lyrics since the 1980s, believes the slams on Paltrow are unwarranted. "The Internet has allowed a bunch of dumb people to say dumb things. Gwyneth Paltrow typed the name of the f—king record," the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" actor told Yahoo! Music's The Aftermath in an exclusive interview. "Leave Gwyneth Paltrow alone. We got wars going on. We got real issues. People have nothing else to say. People want to talk sh-t about Gynweth Paltrow. Is she a racist? If she was really racist, she wouldn't be listening to rap music to begin with. So shut the f—k up and leave Gwyneth Paltrow alone." Ice T, who also stars in the reality series "Ice Loves Coco" with his wife Coco Austin, said he does not have a problem with people who are not African American using the N-word when singing a rap song. "If you a rap fan and you listening to the damn record … if you singing the words, you get a pass. That's part of the record. I wrote it. You lip syncing me." Ice T, who releases his new documentary "Something From Nothing: The Art Of Rap" on June 15, said using the word is about a universal rule of respect that he applies to other "inside words." "So if the word does not pertain to you, you don't say it," he said. "If you ain't fat don't call anyone fat. If you ain't Jewish don't say Jewish slang. If you're not Italian don't say Italian slang." By the same token, Ice T understands why some people are upset with Paltrow for posting the N-word online. "It's an inside word so use it at your own risk … As far as Gwyneth Paltrow, ain't she Jay-Z's [daughter's] godmother? So she f—ks with black people. Leave [her] alone."

Maybe not I would think they have both MX pianos at Manchester, so probably brought this one out of storage for logistics.

Speed of Sound- Acoustic
When we spoke with Chris on May 4, it was just 2 days after they'd played it for the first time on C-stage. We told him that we were happy to hear it, and he said it was a "bit shaky" and weren't sure they were going to keep it. I told him I thought it was beautiful, and he thanked me :wacky: I'm glad they've decided to keep it.

I have all his pics on photobucket.com in the link, as well on my computer. Is there another way I should upload them? They didn't upload very well, though, the ones I have on my computer are much better resolution...oh well...

Ok, here it is. I went through all of my Coldplay photos from the last 3 years, and pulled out the ones of Will. They are all here. Like it's been said, it's hard to get great shots of Will because he's usually in the back. Some of these are from farther back, most are from the front row of various concerts I've been to. Some are great, some are good, some are ok, and some well, aren't. LOL Enjoy! http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t58/lfdianne/Will/?albumview=slideshow

You know, I'm still blown away by the amount of luck I've had these past 9 months, musically. Some planets in the universe must have lined up for me one day, saying, "Yep, Dianne's had some pretty bad shit to deal with the last few years, let's make it up to her." And it's not just been Coldplay. There is another band that I'm a HUGE fan of and well... you can read about what happened here. http://sugarlandmusic.com/news/81761 I was in the very front of the pit, against the barrier with my friend. Her husband and my husband, Mitch, were standing a few people behind us. Sugarland takes song requests *during* the concert from fans with signs. And I made an amazing sign. They take the signs and look through them on stage and pick 4-5 songs to play. Tracie, you may have seen this already on my Facebook page :)

You just had a baby? Congratulations! I've taken 3 of my kids to CP concerts, they have all LOVED them. It's a good idea to get your daughter started young in her concert career :) I made a sign for a concert we went to last Saturday night. I bought battery powered poster lights at Michaels to give it that little "extra."

Anyone with kids that LOVE Coldplay?
Here's my 16 year old son's version of The Scientist. He didn't feel like he could hit the falsetto notes at the end, so his director rearranged the ending so he wasn't awkwardly standing up there. And a little backstory. Matt has been singing in his school choir since he was 11, but has never had a solo - too shy. This was huge for him to audition for a solo for high school's annual Pops Concert. There were about 350 people in the audience, and he was so nervous. So if you leave a comment, please be kind :) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6zlgKH48kwc]The Scientist - YouTube[/ame]

It's going to be amazing. I don't think I"ll ever be as close as I have been in the past though, but that's ok. Different perspectives are good, right? :)

My kids all love Coldplay. My 16 year old son sang The Scientist as a solo at his high school choir concert last week. I thought he did a great job, and I'd like to share the youtube link, but I'm almost hesitant because I know there are some harsh critics out there when it comes to covers. :stunned: Your son is darling, btw.

Coldplay VIP Package - Pics
It's my thought that with a VIP package, you're paying for the guarantee of decent seats without having to go through a scalper or stub hub, because we all know the best seats go really fast. I think they just add the trinkets to make it seem like you're really getting something "special," and it is special - a limited edition tshirt, cool poster, little keychain, the lanyard, cool looking commemorative ticket. Like I said in a previous post, we paid $275 for really good seats when we weren't lucky enough to get them during the presale, as a "regular" ticket. The tickets had a face value of $167, and that $275 was much less than resellers/scalpers were getting, and we didn't have the headache or have to worry about counterfeit tickets. We didn't buy the $40 tshirts at merch, but we would have had it not been part of the package.

Gwyneth...
That's cute. I kind of look it like this. Say Chris was a firefighter. I bet his kids would love to poke around a fire truck and the fire station, because kids think it's cool. My kids used to love going to "daddy's office" when they were younger, to see what he does. So now Chris' and Gwyneth's kids want to see what daddy does, from his perspective. I don't think she's "parading" them so the public can see, but so that the KIDS get to see what daddy gets to do for his job.

Coldplay VIP Package - Pics
Coldplay only "sells" meet and greets for charity, as auctions. There is one going on right now and the bidding was up to $750 last time I checked. I think they can get into the thousands of $$ range. I know Justin Bieber meet and greets were $350, through Live Nation. I think Jason Mraz m&g were about $300-350. Bands like Coldplay can command a lot more, which is why they auction them off.

LOL. It's fine. Most of us here are diehards and have the current shows and set lists and everything that happens somewhat memorized. Jonny plays guitar(s) and Guy plays bass. Guy is the one Chris most often refers to as "the handsome one." Glad you enjoyed the show.
