  1. Lauren has my number - I'll pm it to you too. I'm excited!
  2. Hahaha...and if you go a couple of streets over, there is a Christopher Way. It's Coldplay-ville. :laugh3:
  3. My husband likes Coldplay - after all these years, I've trained him well ;) He's just not excited about camping out all day. I've taken 3 out of our 4 kids to see Coldplay and they all love the band after seeing them. Before it was just "mom's music," but after taking our 12 year old daughter and her best friend to the UCLA show last month, they're big fans now. We also brought our 15 year old "too cool for Coldplay" son and one of his best friends who is a huge Coldplay fan to UCLA, too. For all of his complaining about "mom's music" and "Mom's freaky Coldplay friends," he had a good time and was happy he knew the words. LOL Our older son is at college now, but I brought him to see CP when he was 13 (in 2006). Gotta start them young... Lauren, do you have eveyone's cell numbers? How are we going to meet up/find each other? I've looked at a map of the park, are we going to try to find each other before we go in or inside? I haven't been to a big festival with multiple stages. What time is everyone planning on being there? I know there will be other CP fans not on the boards, obviously, who will want to be in front early, too... Like I've said, we'll be in Austin after 4:30 Thursday. Even though we don't have tix to ACL, since it's a very short walk from our hotel, maybe we'll head over there anyway just to see what's going on. I'll need to walk around after flying all day :) I am SOOOO excited. I loved the UCLA show, but our seats were totally obstructed and that's a whole 'nother story, so I'm really looking forward to actually SEEING the band, the effects, and all.
  4. Haha. You know me too well. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. They already did, so if you didn't get the email... :( http://austincitylimits.org/interact/blog/item/1190-ticket-giveaway-coldplay-9/15 The list of winners is in the link.
  6. No one else has said anything. I'm scared to leave this thread and go anywhere else on the boards these days - too much nastiness going on :(
  7. We'll have my husband to push back the pushers ;) He's big, well, not big big, but 6'2". I'm tall, too, and I can stick out an elbow pretty well.
  8. Me, too...now we HAVE to be in the front on Friday. My husband's not too excited, but he'll do it for me :) You, me, Jen and Amanda, was there anyone else? There's a Jennifer on the list, but I don't know if it's Jen or not.
  9. Here's the list of winners :( I'm not on it either... http://austincitylimits.org/interact/blog/item/1190-ticket-giveaway-coldplay-9/15
  10. OH MY GOSH!!! I JUST GOT TICKETS!!!!!!! I'm so freaking excited now!!! Check your emails!!!!! Oops...I just got them for Arcade Fire for Saturday night. Duh... But still, i"m excited to see them too...
  11. I know when I've gone to see tv show tapings (most recently, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars) in LA/Hollywood, they have some VIP tickets reserved, but very often, those VIPs don't show up, so those tickets go to those in the "standby" line. We had tickets to the American Idol Finale this year, but due to more people showing up than anticipated, they had to cut the line off 20 people in front of us (and we were there FIVE hours early!) :( But we are guaranteed seats at next year's Finale. Right now, I have standy-by tickets for the Ellen Show on Sept 21. Again, we will go there, wait in line, hope to get in if ticketholders or VIPs don't arrive in time, but if we don't get in, we'll go to the Riff-raff room but be given guaranteed tickets to another show, so we won't have to wait in line again. It's all how the game works... I can only imagine with PBS and their big corporate sponsors, they have to hold tickets for them, just in case...
  12. Angie, I LOVE your avatar. Guess we'll just wait and see what happens. And doable in what way? Going to the hotel to drop off bags or coming right to the venue? edit: Just saw your edit. :) Thanks so much for the info. Crossing fingers that we'll get tickets!
  13. Here's our flight info...we're flying from Southern California. Cont. Flt. 1478 from SNA at 8:40a to IAH at1:46p Cont. Flt. 0035 from IAH at 3:30p to AUS at 4:21p Unless there is another flight that would minimize our time in Houston, I think we're stuck with these times. We'll have 2 carry-ons - I'd prefer one, but my husband has fly to North Carolina for business from Austin Sunday morning. Maybe we'll just come from the airport and hope they can hold our bags at the venue. :)
  14. Hypothetical question. Our plane lands at 4:30. According to that email adminwhatever posted, it said to get to the theater at 6. Would we have time to get a cab to our hotel, Hyatt Regency, to drop off our bags and get to the theater by 6? I don't know Austin at all, how far away things are or how bad traffic is. It might be worth it, even if we don't get tickets, to see if there are no-shows.
  15. Those Paradise threads make me sad. Ok, so some people don't like it...fine...but good god, the way they're going on and on and on about it is just sickening. Personally, I like it. Does anyone know if they overbook for these shows or is there an exact number of tickets? I hope they let us know soon. I don't like being patient.
  16. I posted this a few days ago... Right, and because you can't and don't want to even go, there are even more people who weren't selected who would love to "cheer for their so-called live show." Based on what you've been writing in all the "hate" threads, I guess it's a good thing you can't go...
  17. You could check. Maybe he's not really dead, just pretending and he might need some cpr or something.
  18. Can you get to Austin? Why not contact April at KLRU and ask her?
  19. I saw that too...gah. I want to win. Sigh. Oh well. I'm still holding onto hope for tomorrow's announcement for the ACL taping.
  20. You guys, come on. That was supposed to a secret. I hate when leaks happen. Now there's going to be an investigation instead of just sweeping it under the rug. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. It's not Johnny, but it is most definitely Jonny. I was at that show last month. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I got that notification, too ::pout:: The suspense is killing me...
  23. I'm trying to paint my son's room, and I'm not getting very far, either...keep stopping to refresh all the emails I used to enter the contests (not multiples for myself, but I'm checking both my husband's rarely-used email and mine).
  24. I like it. A lot. People are saying it's over-produced. I hear layers. Love the bassline, and the strings, and the subtle influence of the percussion. I view the repetition, the para para paradise, and the oh oh ohhhs, as they boys using their vocals as an instrument, instead of just singing lyrics, if that makes sense. Can't wait to hear it live on Friday!!!!
