I have been to a couple of Arena concerts that have been "ticketless." You bring your email confirmation, and show ID when they scan your ticket at the door. Your whole party must enter together because everyone is on one printout but only the purchasers name is on it. Lines weren't any longer than usual, takes longer to go through security then to match ID. It worked well and they were big arena shows here in the Los Angeles area. Because ticketmaster did this, it was possible to return tickets for a refund, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Aww, Amanda, we would have understood if they played "Til Kingdom Come." For the first time, EVER, I started tearing up at Fix You at ACL. I'm so envious you get to see them again so soon! I hope you have a great time and don't have to walk miles and miles to the venue. Did you get the camera situation figured out?

That's the video I got in trouble for putting on youtube. I was at the ACL taping and I recorded it, too, I was on the other side of the theater from him. He had his video removed from youtube, too, but there are still others up. Not as good as ours were though. :smug:

I totally get what you're saying. I love photography, and take thousands of pictures a year. Of everything, my yard, kids, pets, sports, concerts, our vacations etc, and I make photobooks. But I very very rarely record songs at concerts. The one time I recorded a song, and shared on youtube, I got a "violation" notice, so I won't do it again. But it is so distracting to see hundreds of cell phones being held aloft and not just for a quick shot or two, but the cameras are held up for song after song. And with all those cameras being held up high enough to take any pictures, it blocks the views of those people behind them. How can you dance, sing, get into the performance if you're too concerned with a shaky video so you end up not moving? Last week at ACL, I did take quite a few pictures, but maybe 5 shots a song, like when Chris was oh like right in front of me? Couldn't quite help myself. But overall, I agree and get what you're saying.

That's a bummer about the crowd where you were. In the front, everyone was insane, in a good way :) The crowd at UCLA where I was sitting sucked. The people behind us just chatted the whole night, I don't even think they watched any of the show, between their hotdogs and margaritas. This is why ACL was so amazing for me because I think being part of a great crowd makes a big difference. Even at the ACL taping, though, the crowd around us in the balcony sat the whole show until Viva. Lauren, Jen, Jess and I were the only ones in our section standing the whole time, but the crowd on the floor looked awesome.

Hmph. Wonder if they'll get a copyright violation note from Youtube like I did with my Up in Flames video from the ACL taping last week? KRLU complained and YouTube took it down, but left other's videos. This is what I got when I tried logging into my YouTube account. I took French classes for 5 years, way back in high school and college. That was :::mumble mumble::: years ago. When we went to Paris several years ago, I tried to speak it, I really did, but found that most people that we interacted with had a basic knowledge of English. The last time I was in Paris, it was the week between Christmas and New Years, and it was so so so cold. But it's a beautiful city, and I'm so envious of you being able to see a show there!

I really debated with myself. I really wanted it. But we spent a small fortune on Austin. And we have a son at college. I was hoping for it for Christmas. Then my husband told me yesterday, my birthday, that he bought it as my birthday present. :kiss::love::heart::dazzled:

It was a "she." There were two women who alternated songs for the entire day. They were incredible - very very into every song, and they were so energetic. I don't sign, but I think they may have had an ear feed to get the lyrics. I think they worked just as hard as the bands did!

I'm so glad we met! The whole weekend was just surreal and so much fun. Can't wait to relive the taping on NYE, too! I have maybe 50 pictures that are ok from Friday - out of almost 200 I took. Didn't seem like I took that many, but most of them suck. So hard with the lighting and then that darn Chris just doesn't stand still for very long. Even Jonny and Guy were very dancey. But the camera man was in front of Guy most of the time, so my camera focused on him and not on Guy.

Hahaha...I like your reasoning - although ACL was the best concert I've seen. Maybe it was because I'd been able to go to the ACL taping at the very last minute - it was so unexpected and it was literally the last minute because we were given tickets 5 minutes before the show started. Maybe it was because I was finally in the front at a concert, with legit Coldplayers. Maybe it's because this weekend finally made up for Tampa and UCLA (which I was at, but couldn't see due to the obstructed view we had) It's like after 2 years, I finally got the Coldplay experience I'd been missing and waiting for. But it truly was just surreal. I can't get over those 2 days. sigh. Anyway, my husband ordered the limited edition set for me for my birthday :) Thanks, honey. And he paid with paypal and it went through immediately. Then he got annoyed for paying for something we won't get for 3 months!

I know...but I know some people here have amazing graphic skills, which is why I said I could email a full res picture to someone who wants to zoom and enhance to try to see more :) My editing is pretty much limited to iPhoto, and I know photobucket doesn't upload full res pics.

Geez. People, calm down. She said she was at the 3-day festival, all day Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It's only 10:45am where she is now. Maybe she has "real life" to deal with after 3 days. She was probably posting her mini-review from her phone. Give her a chance to sit down and put it all together.
