Hi Amanda! Let's hope more flight issues don't stop you from coming to this show! Yes, Tracey (MartinFan) and I did meet up with Jason and Julie (jbarry) , as well as Kelly (kspillers), at UCLA, and we met a few others. It was great to meet Jason and Julie and to see Kelly again (she and I were stuck in Tampa for the day 2 years ago when that show was cancelled). Tracey and I had a nice late night dinner with Jason and Julie after the show, too. Jason reminded us of your sad story with the Liverpool/Newcastle shows and the horrible weather - that must have been just so awful to have missed those shows. There are a few of us, jenflor (who lives in Austin), and l0wxo2 (who is coming from Las Vegas) who are planning on getting there early and "camping" out at the barrier for the day. PM me your cell number so we can all meet up. We are all crossing our fingers for the tv show taping, too. My husband and I are flying in Thursday afternoon, and I think if none of us get tickets for the taping, we are going to try to meet up that night anyway. I hope you made it through Irene ok. My son just started college in New Orleans at Tulane and had his first taste of that kind of weather with Tropical Storm Lee last week - it was a big deal for a Southern California boy to see that much rain! Looking forward to meeting everyone! I can't believe it's in just a few days. :dance:

Nothing else in particular. We may get together for dinner Saturday night with a work-type guy my husband knows. We leave Sunday at 1pm, my husband has to go on to a business meeting in North Carolina and I'm flying home to CA. And Sunday is my birthday :) Anything you think we should see or do? I'm glad for a get-away, but we will be missing our daughter's first soccer game of the season on Sunday :( Not that we haven't seen about 150 of her other games over the years, but still...

I LOVE the Paradise snippet. I so can't wait for Friday! Not holding on to much hope for Thursday though :( Oh well... We are staying until Sunday, but are only going to ACL Fest on Friday, so have all day Saturday to do some recovering and sightseeing. A mini-vacation without the kids ;) I've never been to Austin, my husband has a couple of times.

That's what happened at the UCLA concert last month, too. People had bought free tickets on craigslist and ebay and their names had been photoshopped onto the printout. When you registered for the tickets, it created a specific code associated with only your name and they scanned every single ticket and matched with official government id - my kids had to bring their passports because they have driver's licenses yet. People who bought their tickets aftermarket were basically screwed - out the money and not let in. There were a few tickets for sale (it was a benefit for the Grammy Foundation, too) and I think some people were able to get those. We saw quite a few people in the "fraud" line :( Probably what will happen with these tickets, too.

I actually contacted ACL - TV. They said there's a guestlist, so they're looking into the ebay "tickets."

$555 each? Ouch. And the terms and conditions are kind of crazy. They won't honor your purchase if it leaves them with a single ticket, but they will sell multiple tickets, just as long as they aren't left with a single. Wonder how many they got??? Sucks...

Guess we didn't win. Some people are tweeting that they got tickets :(

Our flight lands at about 4:30 on Thursday, so we will be there or where ever after that! So if they are supposedly giving away balcony tickets on Friday, we won't be notified about today's tickets by then, will we? So there is a possibility we'd end up with both?

I hope people read the part that said travel was not included. How many morons are going to enter just because they enter every contest they can and not even be able to get there? Then what? Plan B?

I signed up for AF tickets too. Doesn't seem to be any advantage for signing up early, though. It would be so fun to get the CP tickets, though!

Well, they released lotteries for 3 shows today, so there may be more traffic than for just one show.... and 2500+ people have to win, so I'll just enter when they announce Coldplay and cross my fingers. But i do think Coldplay and Arcade Fire (released today) are going to be the hot tickets...

A couple of weeks ago, I heard Clocks on a classic rock station (KLOS for those of you in the LA area), sandwiched in between Kiss and Van Halen. Took me by surprise!

Oh, that's a bummer about OCMS. I really want to be on the front. Lately, my Coldplay karma has sucked (meaning a cancelled show and at UCLA where my "full-view" seat was completely obstructed) so I'd like to actually see a show, and if it means all day in the sun, I'll do it... We are staying at the Hyatt Regency, which looks to be fairly close to the park, but I don't think walking distance. We only have tickets for Friday - has anyone received theirs yet?
