i'm bored toooo i don't know what to do with myself today. the olympics are over until tonight, the forum's dead, there hasn't been big coldplay news in ages (rightfully so, but i kind of miss the excitement of april-may :P)...and blah.

^it's hard to explain, really :lol:. i must say that i found him more attractive back in 2004, but he's just like...geekily lovable. i don't know if i'd personally use the word hot, but i think he's just cute. he's also polite and humble and nice...not to mention a total BAMF in the pool :P (that's also not a very good pic of him, i don't think...he looks a bit more toolish when he's smiling like that) i think the rest of the world is asking the same question. to my knowledge, basically nastia liukin and the chinese girl got the same score, making it a tie. but because there are new scoring rules, rather than awarding two gold medals or even having some sort of tiebreaker routine, the judges plug the two scores into computer software and the computer extends the score to more and more decimal points until a difference is found. the chinese girl won by something like one ten-thousandth of a point or something crazy like that. i really hate this new judging system, and the judges are also pretty incompetent.

^once again, i am completely disappointed in the judging. nastia should have had that gold, and the tiebreaker should NOT be left up to computer software! if you refuse to give two golds, fine, but have them do a tiebreaker routine! don't make a computer round off decimal places; that's just ridiculous :angry: beth did do remarkably well, i thought; i thought she should have come in 4th. balance beam tomorrow; i'm rooting for shawn johnson because she still needs her gold :D

^exactly. however, as much as i think wearing fur is completely wrong, it's mostly the hipocracy that's bothering me with this. she should just say something rather than refusing to comment. not that that would make it too much better, but something would be nice.

out of shawn johnson, nastia luikin and alicia sacramone, i have to say that alicia was my least favorite, but REALLY. she deserved that bronze to no end, and chung fei fell on her fucking knees. it's especially sad after her nad day earlier in the week. i'm still fuming about the vault:P but that aside, bella karolli (or however you spell it) cracks me UP. he was basically crying over this alicia thing, but i don't know, he just makes me laugh. my brother and i love watching him because he's hysterical.

another thing: my brother has a huge crush on the USA gymnast, shawn johnson. we were plotting over MSN for him to meet her one day (joking, of course), when the conversation turned: Chelsea says: ok, you think up a plan for me to meet chris martin Evan says: ok Evan says: you will tunnel from outisde the studio in. for her birthday in july, my mom got the "rolling stone: cover to cover" thing, which is basically every single page of every single issue of rolling stone magazing from 1967 to 2007 on DVD-ROM. i just got around to installing it on my computer, and it's pretty epic. the first thing i tried was searching the name "chris martin," and up it comes with 108 articles! :dance:. i just read the original review for parachutes back in 2000, and they really loved it :nice: oooh, i'm going to have some fun with this. when i have more time, i'll even share the wealth! :P

:dead: i'm actually pretty sad that he's all done, even though it was an amazing run :D. in 2004, i started watching because of how ADORABLE michael phelps was, but since then i've come to really enjoy watching swimming in general, as well as lots of other olympic events :dance: but yes, bring on the phelps :wideeyed:

i'm surprised i didn't notice the fur when i first saw that tod's ad. and i'm incredibly disappointed in gwyneth :angry:. i hope she says something about it, namely an apology.

of course, i've never heard a coldplay song in the olympics :dozey:. nor have i ever heard a song i recognize, i don't think :thinking: but i did just hear some song in NBC's coverage that was remarkably coldplayish, and i actually stopped for half a second to wrack my brain to see if it was a coldplay song :lol:

i bought the heima DVD last night and watched at at like 2AM...and it's just so amazing. i'm still really in the process of getting fully into sigur ros, and i still have a hard time really liking jonsi's voice in some songs (the super-high falsetto kind of bothers me, i have to say), but...christ, these guys are amazing. and i've always wanted to go to iceland for some unknown reason, but after watching heima, i feel like i need to buy the plane ticket NOW. also, random question that has probably already been asked, but does anyone know/have the translated english lyrics to the song "heima"? i'm dying to know them.

i plan to be living in london/outside london in 2012. that could prove interesting for me :P i was actually hoping NYC wouldn't win it (it was between NYC, london, and paris, if i remember correctly) because i live close to NYC and didn't really want to be innundated by tourists etc, but it would also be cool, albeit crowded. if i'm actually in england by 2012, though, i'll be pumped! :dance: and it's embarrassing, but i already miss michael phelps :P

the whole fur thing with gwyneth REALLY pisses me off. i only found out about it like an hour ago, but i'm pretty angry about it. even if she wasn't a vegetarian etc etc, i'd still be very disappointed that she wore fur, but the hipocracy makes it ten times worse. in terms of if/how she's affected chris/coldplay...i wonder that myself all the time. like mich said, i think she might have just accelerated the fame and biggness a bit, like by a few years. chris certainly wouldn't be hounded by paps and press if he hadn't married her, at least not yet, and i think that sort of notoriety and stalking changes you a bit. i don't really think he got that bigheaded himself: i more believe that his sudden rocket to celebrity because of his marriage (which isn't something that's really gwyneth's fault; i think she'd get rid of it all if she could, too) changed him in small ways that ended up tweaking the band and the music. in terms of gwyneth herself, though (minus this whole fur thing)...i do really like her as a person. i think she gets a bad rap sometimes, but i think she really does seem like a good, kind, smart person that's pretty down to earth (not 100%, but not as bad as some people think). i also think she's a fabulous actress (even though i think she's best as depressed bitches rather than leading ladies :P), and she seems like a great mother. despite what people say about her, and her occasional gaffes that are usually written off as being taken out of context, and this DISGUSTING fur thing, i do really love her, personally :D

EEEEEEEEEEE USA IS GOING TO WINNNN (almost definitely) AND THEY WONNNNNN! phelps is now 8 for 8, and he blew spitz's record away :D

true, true. even though somehow, i thought he was more attractive in 2004. he's still adorable, don't get me wrong, but now i watch him more because he's a total BEAST, and basically the best athelete that ever lived. but yes, also adorable :wacky: and his final race is starting now! :dance:

it blows my mind that you can buy jeans for £3 anywhere. here, i doubt you'd be able to find jeans for any less than $10 anywhere at all, even really crappy jeans. i suppose that's just the crap american economy, buy you can barely find a freaking tshirt for $3, let alone pants. i bought a simple pink tank top at target yesterday because it was cheap and for some reason i look the best in pink, yet today i tried it on, and it was too small :dozey:. really, someone my size should NOT be a large! i mean, come on. i bought a medium to be on the safe side, and it's too small? :P
