  1. It sounds creepy to say, but I'd love to hear them talk. All of my English friends tell me I still sound really American, but at home, my friends and family say I often have a transatlantic affectation and I always am curious about other people having one too so I can try and find it in my own voice :P [/lifestory]
  2. It means like "grumpy" or "moody" :).
  3. THANK YOU MICH! There are so many great quotes from that interview, I died laughing  (especially about the Lou Reed/Jon Bon Jovi birthday party with the nachos and the "lick my kneecaps"). I was actually surprised that's how Gwyneth got herself into the article, by actually being there, albeit momentarily. But I thought it was a nice touch: show the kids, show that they ACTUALLY seem to have a working relationship, but don't make that the focus of the interview.
  4. My reaction went "CHRIS IN A SUIT AGAIN :wideeyed:" and then a second later "oh God, brown shoes " :P Can the next era please please please involve ties and blazers for all of them all the time? :shy:
  5. From the other Car Kids thread that's currently getting attention:
  6. I was joking :P For songs like that, we should be grateful that we've even heard them in a live format at all...I don't think we're ever going to hear the songs we know the names of, or get studio versions of long-lost live-tested material. Unless the band gets hit by lightning and decides to release a compilation album of shelved songs from various eras.
  7. And Solid Ground! :idea2:
  8. OR DESERTER BACK FROM 2002 :dozey:
  9. It's because it's on their shirts and in the graffiti and stuff, which I agree makes it tempting, but if we just think logically, even before what Jonny told Laura, couldn't we all just assume it was a song that almost made the record, but didn't? Especially because they didn't finalize the tracklisting until the very last minute. I don't think they're being mysterious, I just think they happened to do the artwork before they posted the tracklisting, and yet everyone's like IT MUST BE COMING OUT SOMETIME over and over, when it's probably not at all.
  10. I like, want to paste this on my forehead or my sig or something. I know there's a song like this that everyone's clawing for every album, but GOOD LORD, everyone's so over the top with this one!
  11. I swear, if I see another thread about Car Kids... :smash:  Great bit of trolling though
  12. Whoo! I'm not that biased! I will forever be bitter that they didn't broadcast it, though. I honestly have never heard them sound that good before or since. As live acts go, I feel like Coldplay are pretty consistent, sometimes maddeningly so, but Oxegen was above and beyond everything else I've heard them do.
  13. It's SUCH a shame that Oxegen wasn't broadcasted, because out of everything festival-sized I've seen them do this year, that takes the cake. I'm biased because I was there, of course, but I've seen them 14 times and that was the best they've ever performed for me. I heard T the day before was great as well, but I haven't watched it myself so I feel like I can't vote for it. I think my other favorites were Lolla, Rio, and Rock Am Ring because that was the first time we'd heard any of the new songs outside of ETIAW. I think I'm going to go for Lolla.
  14. I liked the line "...the trustworthy piano/guitar axis of 'Oldplay,'" because that's something I've been saying for ages now. I'm always happy when a band I love gets a positive review, especially when I think they deserve it like I think MX does, but this is a bit over the top to me. Then again, I think all music reviews are crap. Either way, nice job boys :D
  15. I like how Miller described Chris and Jonny coming out holding hands like it was something totally unexpected :P. I mean, I know they don't do it a lot, but they have before...and they do go around snogging each other all the time
  16. It sounds like tambourine woman better watch her back  And GOD why can't they just always wear those clothes? Chris needs to lose the boots, though, or at least not tuck nice suit trousers into moto boots :P
  17. That's a relief, I think he's just way too hard on himself  Aww, I'm so glad they played Shiver because it's my favorite, but I do LOOOOVE their cover of We Found Love as well...
  18. Just posting the "making of" clip for nostalgia's sake... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAqCTnV69OY]Making Coldplay's Christmas Lights video - YouTube[/ame] I actually like that one better than the actual video, just because that's exactly what it's like in my memory as well (I actually spent more time at the film set than on the boat, and they took a lot of the shots from my vantage point :P) SIGH, I miss you all! EDIT: Do Youtube vids not embed anymore? :uhoh:
  19. I feel like I can hear Chris's annoyance from here about the headline . I think we can be sure it's not a joint interview or anything though, I bet Mich is right, they either somehow got her to answer one or two things or they just pieced together things she's said before. I love the subscribers-only cover though . Hoping someone can scan this for us once it hits newsstands in the UK! :D
  20. :bigcry: It's only 1AM here on the 25th and I'm already all nostalgic for what happened a year ago today. In spite of all the drama and complaining, that was pretty much the best evening I ever had.
  21. Aww, Jonny wore a fancier hat :wacky: And I hope they do the same thing with the nicer clothes for the holiday season stuff like they did last year...I know that was a Christmas Lights thing, but they could bring it back, right? :wideeyed: :toff:
  22. I'd probably be a bit bitter about that too, honestly...yikes. However, I do have to say that I do agree with the sentiment of the article you posted after, to a degree...I do think it's a raw deal in some ways for artists as Jon Hopkins has shown here, but at the same time, I kind of think of streaming services like Spotify etc as a small way to combat piracy. I guess £8 is so small it makes no real difference whether 90,000 people pirated his tracks vs. streamed them on Spotify, but I feel like if I happened to be an artist, I'd still be supportive, at least in a small way, of Spotify as an idea and as a platform. But yeah, the whole industry really just isn't redeemable from the hands of piracy so it does seem a bit useless to try anymore.
  23. Oh goodness, waiting for a full review from my lovelies because all of that sounds so odd...not really even in a bad way, just in a weird alternate-universe sort of way :wtf: I also need to see photos of the suitage :wideeyed:
  24. I do hear a bit of a Radiohead influence on "You're So Right," especially because Nikolai's the main writer of that song and also a big Radiohead fan, but the Muse thing still baffles me :P
