  1. i'm generally a tshirt, jeans, hoodie, and sneakers person, so i dont think i can help much on the suggestion front. but apparently really bright colors are in for spring, so there's that. of course, you can always go with a long shirt and tights...:sneaky: :laugh1:
  2. ^those images are from my favorite episode of house! "one day, one room"! (well, ok, favorite from season 3...but still a killer episode!)
  3. isn't that song like, the best in the world? somehow it sounds new every time you listen to it, i think. it's weird to describe how i love it, because if i made a list of my top 5 coldplay songs it probably wouldnt be in there, but yet its just so amazing that it probably would fall into a top 10 songs of all time sort of list for me. i know we've been over this, but before i even knew coldplay that riff used to go round in my head when i was really happy :D and now it just makes me feel like jumping around every time i hear it.
  4. thats true! what about a cell phone camera pic? better than nothing...
  5. i'm thinking that i wish the coldplay album will come out on time in 2008 despite whatever's going on with EMI. I'm also thinking i really dont want to start college on friday.
  6. +i need to pick another course to sign up for +i havent eaten anything today +i should really do something productive +i think i'm going to go watch a movie +i dont know what to do about dinner
  7. yesterday, on a whim, i bought a guidebooky thing to london (the london moleskine city notebook, to be precise :P) even though i'm not going there for a year and a half still. i think it's like a promise to myself to go or something, because i have no concrete plans or anything, only that i'm GOING somehow or another. i betcha didn't know i'm that obsessed with going to london again....
  8. argh! i wanted to have a hair-cutting buddy. i suppose i could post my pic, but i dont want to steal your thunder since this is your thread! ;) :P
  9. we can't wait to seeee!
  10. glad you like it! i like mine too, which is also chin-length. i'll take a pic tomorrow as well and post it, because i promised ;)
  11. heehee, i wish that 2nd video was longer! theyre all so cute in it. and thank you to will for disclosing the exact address of their old apartment--when i'm at UCL next year i'll go and visit it :laugh1:
  12. haha, i figured your reaction would be similar to mine ;) but ditto to everything you said. you just said it more eloquently and less whiney.
  13. ^:D haha, yeah, that's why i put the line in my sig so people wouldnt be confused... the WGA strike has already significantly pissed me off by taking pretty much all my shows off the air, and by reducing the golden globes to a press conference. i dont know what i'll do if coldplay go on strike as well. strikes are making my life miserable! ;)
  14. wow. that could actually mean its legit because only insders would have known anything about a title back in 2006. but i'm not believing anything yet. i'll just crash if i get over excited and then realize its fake. but QUITE interesting either way.
  15. i was also thinking that lots of musicians would start their own companies, but then i remembered the beatles' fiasco with apple in the late '60's to the '70's and how EMI just got apple in the end anyway and currently owns them. i'm not saying that it's impossible for artists to get out their own labels, i'm just saying that it's a lot harder than it looks (probably--considering apple was pretty much the first one, they probably made a lot of mistakes that won't be made again), and it would probably save time and money for big-name artists to find indie labels that they liked and go from there.
  16. Boo-yahhhhhh! I'm excited for the new name! nice new one, rachael! (i suppose i'll start calling you rachael now that the name "emma" isnt looking me in the face every time i want to talk to you! ;))
  17. ^haha, even though i understand time zones and all...that just blows my mind!! i'm ready to go to sleep on thursday night, when you're probably getting ready to sit down to your friday dinner. oooh boy, i'm totally going to sleep now. i'm getting zany.
  18. yeah, i cant say i've had all that many hard times for them to get me through, but i've certainly had my fair share of little upsets that coldplay is also great for getting you through, even when you could have done it on your own. theyre just such a comfort. and besides that, i love them. and i'm heartbroken now that we might not get to hear their development, at least not anytime soon. anyway, emma, i'm going to go to bed; it's almost 1:30 AM. i'll lament and debate with you more tomorrow :D in the meantime i'm keeping my fingers crossed for us somehow still getting LP4 in 2008 on schedule! you know i am!
  19. no no, i wasnt saying that the indie labels would become massively greedy and clueless like the current "out-of-touch hulking leviathans" (:) perfect description, BTW), i was just saying that indie music would lose its charm (or whatever it is; i cant think of the right word) as indie music, because indie would become the mainstream, and something else would probably develop underground to take indie's place and wait for indie to crash and burn years down the line just like the leviathans did. its like the overthrow of the governments in european history by the lower classes (if i'd taken the course more recently than three years ago i'd remember the term for this and all the references )--power just could keep constantly changing hands. i should go to bed too; it's 1:15 AM here. if i'm correct, isn' it 2:15 AM where you are? :D
  20. my deepness is born out of my despair and worry for the new album. which was sadly the thing i was looking forward to most for the short-term. besides in rainbows, 2007 was a dull music year for me in general (i didnt even go to a single concert, which is just unheard of for me), and the prospect (no pun intended) of a new coldplay album for 2008 (as well as U2 and oasis) automatically made it a brillo music year for me. and my life has gone/is going through some radical changes, so i was looking forward to having coldplay music, no matter how different and new, to keep me company along the way.
  21. haha, dont worry, i'm not planning to pass myself off as a random person with an unusually high post count for a noob :laugh1:. i was going to post in here straight away! besides, the fact that i'm not planning to change my avatar or my sig (despite a line saying something like "i used to be Awhisper21") wont make it too hard to figure it out :laugh1: i hope it gets approved soon! i'm sick of being doofy Awhisper21. its such a throwaway name. i would have given it more thought if i could see two years down the road when i signed up!
  22. that's true about it only happening if things were dire, but i think it would be ridiculously effective. frankly, i'd consider them very smart if they went ahead and did it that way. and mo's right about ian and debs and all that stuff...he's smart and wouldnt just be like "oh, i guess this is actually coldplay, then!" to some random letter in his mailbox if they were to do it that way. even if debs didnt have an account here, the simple fact that it's been said that coldplay knows about this place and realizes its strength (and coolness!!) tells me that they've got ways to contact ian if need be. i think this is turning into the mo, rachael, and chelsea thread  how is this good news?
  23. a meltdown of the entertainment industry inordinately scares me because i'm so attatched to music, tv, and movies. i hope to get into such fields one day (specifically film), so it would not only affect my current enjoyment, it could affect my future happiness and well-being. the WGA strike has pissed me off increasingly for selfish reasons, though i do agree with the strikers. what really gets me, though, is the lack of cooperation and discussion between the sides. it makes me furious. the same thng is running through my head with this very new (and possibly/hopefully non-existent) EMI strike. the longer it goes on without the sides talking, the more i consider both sides to be stubbornly whining, no matter who i agree with. even if i was currently a writer for a TV show and was striking, i would think the whole thing was getting absolutely absurd, even though i was the one being done wrong by. if the screen actors guild and the directors guild go on strike, i really WILL lose it. as inordinately sad i am about the prospect of coldplay striking, the whole movie industry being put on indefinite hold will REALLY get me. movies are my life. so is music, but i'm more geeky about movies, as surprising as that may sound  as for musical artists in the event of a widespread strike, i think they'd all employ the finest lawyers that money can buy so they can wriggle free of their current contracts, then they would pull a radiohead and self-release on the internet. because even if indie got on the bandwagon and took the place of the huge labels, indie wouldnt be indie for much longer, despite the term and business practices. if all the mainstream acts "went indie," what would the fundamental differences be between what was previously released on major labels and what is then released on indie labels? i shudder to think of a widespread entertainment strike. i think the entertainment world really is in for a huge shaking-up in my lifetime, especially the music side of things, but i dont think striking is the only way of moving forward.
  24. i think that if they couldnt use the site, then theyd use the myspace. i dont think EMI has anything to do with that (...do they?) but really, could a label prevent the artist from INFORMING the fans about what's going on via the internet? even if it turns out they don't have any rights to the website, i can't imagine prospekt or the guys inappropriately ranting against them to the point that they would get shirty. i think they'd just inform us of their reasons behind their decision and not be "immature" about it. and if they couldnt use the myspace because of effing EMI and if theyre really as wonderful and nice and concerned about the fans as i like to believe htey are, then i think as a last resort type-thing, they'd turn here. i cant imagine ian NOT letting them like, sign on once, write a post/a letter to us all about their choice, and let us respond. i can't imagine them becoming regular posters here or anything (at least not regular posters where we KNOW their identities :sneaky:), but technically i would assume they don't even have to have ian's permission to do such a thing because the board's open to anyone that wants to join (...to my knowledge...), including the people the board is devoted to! but really it would be MUCH more effective for them to get a hold of ian and ask him to tell us all that it will ACTUALLY be them posting on this day at this time so they can get ahold of us... ok, this is starting to become a fantasy, so i'm going to shut up now.
  25. mo, will this idea make me happy? will it give me hope? *crossing fingers* whatever they decide, though, coldplay has GOT to tell us what they've chosen to do, they owe us that. and i think they know that too. so i suppose that perhaps the next prospekt entry isn't going to be what i expected, but perhaps it'll have the same effect: it'll let me stop waiting for it.
