i put on my AROBTTH record yesterday and skipped over politik to get to IMP, but my record player was on the wrong speed and it played IMP really fast. it actually sounded pretty damn good on 45 RPM rather than 33, until the vocals came in. i'm not once for people sounding like chipmunks, no matter how good the music is.

ok, i just thought of something that, if it happens, i will cry my eyes out for months. i'm planning to go study abroad in london starting fall 2009 and ending in the summer of 2010. IF COLDPLAY'S TOURING AMERICA DURING THIS TIME AND HASNT BEEN HERE BEFORE THEN, I WILL DIE. ditto for radiohead. IF I MISS THEM SIMPLY BECAUSE I'M IN THE WRONG COUNTRY, I WILL GO ON A RAMPAGE. before i didnt much care when LP4 came out, as long as it's sometime in 2008 and they TELL US NOW so i can count down to it rather than guessing so much. but now i want them to release it ASAP so they can get their asses touring so i can SEE THEM without missing them. [/rant]

^haha, thanks annie! i got dressed up because it was the last day of school for us seniors. the dress i'm wearing is strictly out of dresscode (too short) :sneaky:. i had to stick it to them on the last day.

my friend used to have hair similar to that. he actually cut holes in his graduation cap/mortarboard so it could show through! it was great.

i got my brother into radiohead recently. he said he hated in rainbows, though, all except the "floppy fish" song (aka "weird fishes"...i just about died when he called it that). but he's really into pablo honey and the bends and parts of ok computer now. i figure the rest will come with time :D ok, totally random question: in "15 step" does anybody else notice this strange effect that sounds exactly like a group of young kids all shouting "YAY!!!!" at once? it happens after the line "fads for whatever" and in a couple other places. i was wondering if anybody else a) noticed this and b) could tell me if this is an actual effect from an instrument or it is in fact a soundclip of a bunch of ecstatic children. because it sounds a hell of a lot like the latter to me.

thanks for this; i've been looking for similar programs as well. does anyone have any advice for using videora? i've had it for kind of a while and have yet to make it work. the sound doesn't sync up to the video! anyone have any tips?

i know its saturday already, but i thought i'd give my two cents ;) i dont really know what 400 pounds can get you in terms of laptops (i know its equivilent to about $800, which is pretty low-end when you're considering laptops), but my biggest advice would be GO WITH EITHER MAC OR IBM/LENOVO OVER ANYTHING ELSE. they may be out of the price range, but if you can manage it i don't think you'll regret it. they last for ages; my five-year old IBM laptop is still going strong without a single problem, and the only reason i got a new one was to have a lighter one for college. and macs have great records, if youre ok with making the switch from PCs. i've never heard of anyone ever regretting getting a mac. my next bit of advice would be DON'T GET A DELL. everyone i've ever known that's had a dell has had major problems with it and has needed to upgrade after a short amount of time because theyre generally crap.

somehow, i feel like once they TELL US the release date, i'll be less particular about when it actually comes out. if they told us today that it comes out in november, i think i'd calm down a bit and be placated. to me it's about being able to count down to it by day, knowing exactly how much longer i've got to wait rather than guessing all the time like we are now. that's not to say that i dont want it to come out soon, though! i'd kill for a march release, but i dont think that's going to happen. even though its farther away than i originally hoped, i'd actually love a may release because i'll be back from college by then for the summer and it would make getting it and having the time to listen to it and fully enjoy it a hell of a lot easier. if it comes out in late april i may cry because ill be in the throes of exams and wont be able to devote my full attention to it!!

^speed of sound was put on UK radio in april, but the single didnt come out until may, i'm pretty sure, along with the music video. and X&Y came out in early june, so really the single only came out about 2 weeks before the album! i wonder if theyre going to do it this way again, or if this schedule is pretty standard when it comes to releasing singles and records.

i dont care what its called or what it looks like (though it would be fabby if i liked both the title and the artwork)...all i care about is what it SOUNDS like. ...and then i care about the music videos (i'm a film student and music videos are important to me).

there better be NA dates or i'll cry. i think there will be...really, what band as big as radiohead goes on tour these days and doesnt come to america and canada?? theyd be insane not to.

i honestly wondered that about the track names. while i'm not letting it cloud my opinions of the potential of the songs themselves, i must admit that they dont sound very...coldplay. so i had a laugh with myself and wondered if they just fed us those fake names as a joke. [of course i dont actually believe this is true. but it crossed my mind]. a very small part of my brain also believes that it will be a silence release and the CD will just turn up on store shelves secretly one day with no warning. for this reason, whenever i'm in a shop that sells CDs, i always always always check the "coldplay" tab, just in case. it's also a large part of the reason i come to this board so compulsively :rolleyes:. i half-believe that someone's going to have a thread one day that says "OMG I WAS JUST IN A SHOP AND THERE WAS LP4, RIGHT ON THE SHELF. GO OUT AND BUY IT NOW." its interesting how you pinpointed my two secret, unrealistic beliefs :P and now yall think i'm absolutely bughouse :thinking:

its recently a movie, yeah! i have a bit of a long history with this book...i spent two months writing a screenplay of it for my graduation project (i want to be a screenwriter) so this movie was really important to me. it wasnt as good as the book, yet it was pretty amazing! i dont know when itll be out in australia though...

i'm considering changing mine...i never really liked it at all. i just thought up a throwaway one when i joined, never suspecting i'd come here as often and as obsessively as i do. of course, i must think up a good one to even bother changing it.

i watched a huge stack of DVDs when i was sick last august. most of them were kiddie movies, though, or things that werent so complicated so i could concentrate. i was craving pizza hut pizza...which i could have eaten if my throat hadnt closed up. i was literally starving for 6 days because i couldnt swallow anything more than popsicles. that was the worst. reading puts me over the edge, but TV is the best!

ugh, i hope its not self-titled. i know it usually means band re-invention and all that jazz, but it's just so...uncreative. ideally i hope theyre keeping one trackname secret from us, a really cool-sounding one, and that will be the album title. because none really jump out at me right now.

i was so sick of trying to find in-dress-code clothes that at times i wished for a uniform. a NICE one, though. kilts would be waaaay out of the question :P but a nicer type skirt would be ok...but then i'd just end up hating that. i'm quite thrilled to be able to wear whatever the hell i want all the time. some days ill get dressed up, others i'll go to class in PJs :P

i think theres a chance that theyll stray from naming the album after a song on it, but i also really really dont think that it'll be called "prospekt," either. watch me be 100% wrong :P

^how i wish i had that problem!!!! no one's ever seen my hair naturally (besides my family on days i'm not leaving the house) because its that insane. i may go out in PJs and without makeup, but my hair WILL be tame!

oh, i bet the norovirus is here in several places already--its just that america is so big that the epidemics are pretty localized...on the other side of my state right now there are rampant illnesses (one of which sounds pretty similar to norovirus) that are hardly present whatsoever here. glad to hear youre feeling better :)
