  1. ^hey annie! it seems like i havent seen you around here for a while... for some reason i find it incredibly adorable when i see photos of chris and he doesnt have the equals sign drawn on his hands, but you can see where he washed it off and its still there faintly. noticed this recently: doesnt chris resemble schroder from the peanuts? the way he plays piano... haha! :P
  2. we're doing the cold war in history now, and in my notes i keep writing C-O-L-D-P-L... before I realize what im doing and then i have to cross it out and write C-O-L-D W-A-R :laugh1:. ive done it at least 3 times now. i just taped my fingers for the hell of it. tee hee!
  3. i have the same exact problem. sigh sigh sigh. thanks to all of you that posted the stuff here for all of us who cant get to it!!
  4. i didnt wear a coldplay shirt today, but i DID dress as chris martin for spirit week at my school for 'dress like your favorite celebrity' day. so that has to count for SOMETHING. i have 2 shirts, though...
  5. this week is spirit week at my school, and today was 'dress as your favorite celebrity' day. so guess who i dressed as? CHRIS MARTIN, OF COURSE! i wore black cargo pants, adidas sneakers the same as his, a jacket i have thats almost exactly the same as the one he wore in "the scientist" video, and put an equals sign on my hands and electrical-taped my fingers. i have to say, i was quite happy with the look. and i didnt get many awkward "who are you supposed to be"s because i just looked like i was wearing black pants and a jacket from a distance (if no one noticed the hand...), and while a lot of my friends rolled their eyes or whatever, i didnt get mocked too much! whee! the title of my brothers algebra textbook is in albertus.
  6. more here: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=27271 this is what i suggested there, though none are 5 words... oh, wait, the last one's 5 words :laugh1:
  7. ^^self-titled albums, while usually are good albums signifying change and new directions, seem to be a sort of cop-out to me. album titles intrigue me. 5 words...ill think on that.
  8. in my place! ive been feeling this one latelty... and clocks.
  9. oh goodness, i have tons: -acoustic version of "speed of sound" -live 2003 version of "life is for living" -live 2003 version of "see you soon" -demo of "dont panic" -demo of "talk" (aka leaked version) -"ladder to the sun" version 2 -"gravity" live "fix you" live from the single
  10. was talking about music to my friend today (this is the friend that likes coldplay as well but claims he doesnt). we were mostly talking about radiohead and i said how i LOVE their early stuff but cant really get into anything past ok computer. he shook his head and started going through my ipod and said "everything you listen to is just coldplay with a different spin on it". thats not technically true, considering lots of things i listen to were around waay before coldplay, but he has a point: basically everything i listen to is in the same genre. and then later he was trying to annoy me and was like "chris martin gets drunk ALL the time and goes off his head," which is obviously untrue and he knows it. i just started making fun of regina spektor (his love) and he soon got bored and went away.
  11. i dont know where they sat, exactly, but i can find out. none of them were exactly bowled over by the concert, though. i think they were trying to act cool and all, and none of them are as obsessed as i am, so they didnt tell great stories or anything. coldplay fan to coldplay fan: was it an ok show? because they told me it wasnt that great, though i bet to make fun of me... mohegan sun was a 2 hr trip for me as well, so we had to stay the night and...well, theres a long story behind it. and while im SOOO glad i went, when i saw them in hartford before it was much better. sorry, im really bored :laugh1: someone needs to learn how to shut me up. this place is my biggest procrastination zone...i should be reading king lear!
  12. haha, we should be the ones thanking YOU, ian!! you created all this :laugh1: ! -valentine
  13. ^:laugh1: hahaha, my brothers make fun of them all the time too. whatever...i know its mostly because i like them. my brother once said he sorta likes the old school coldplay stuff, like "shiver". my mom likes them as well (shes the one that got me into them), but thinks my obsession is unhealthy. well, i can pull the same card on her with pearl jam, her favorite band ever. that hat! yes! i generally dont wear hats at all (i have a freakishly large head, though it doesnt look it), but i thought id give it a go. it looked horrible on me, but i liked looking like jonny for a second! (BTW, all my friends went to that concert at the nassau coliseum the same night you did, but i couldnt get tix to that one, so i went to mohegan sun a week later)
  14. i'm in a blabby mood, so watch out and skip this post! :) first of all, i wasnt able to come here on saturday or sunday, so all weekend i had my fingers crossed for new material...and i come here and theres not. i just read the article with chris's explanation for why, and while im disappointed, i understand. its just kinda weird to be one of the people he's worried about! its so true though. the only thing im worried about is that some of the songs that they were planning to play before they changed their minds might be brilliant and might not make it on the album! its happened before, with songs like "ladder to the sun" and "solid ground." ah well. i know theyre right, because these song files would get around the world like wildfire! i was thinking a lot about this board this weekend for some reason. i find it interesting that coldplay has such a cult-like following on the nets, whereas other somewhat more popular bands have pretty crap forums that no one goes to. i mean, only a tiny handful of other bands out there have anything like this forum dedicated to them. and it's so worldwide! i was suprised by that when i first came on here a year ago. its not mostly people from great britain and america: we seem to be in the minority! i find that so cool, that my favorite band is able to reach out to everywhere on the planet and have people love them everywhere they go. i suppose coldplay generally appeals to a large number of people. i mean, theyre kinda hard to hate. you may not love them, but i dont think a large number of people are repulsed by their music. in my experience here in america (CT, no less  ), almost every single person i know has at least one coldplay song on their ipod, not to mention at least one entire coldplay album, and i cant think of one person that wouldnt be excited over the prospect of free coldplay tickets. i think theyre just genrally likeable music-wise (and i would think people-wise as well, but apparently not, considering the # of people that think chris is a twat based on little evidence). i just think its so cool how it just so happens that its my favorite band that has such an amazing online community. i love this place to death, and without it i would still love coldplay, totally, but i think this place has helped me get even more obsessed. another random thing: one of the things i was somewhat surprised by when i first came here was how well everyone speaks english. if there little flags werent there on everyones posts, id often have no idea that people come from all over the world (i LOVE the little flags, BTW). as an american, i think its somewhat strange to think that its our language that everyones learning all over the planet. its kinda sad, too, that america's become such a huge superpower that we're basically imposing our language on everyone else. on the flipside, i love that im able to communicate with people all over the world in a common language; i just think its unfair that theyre always the one that made the effort. ANYWAY. i was at the westchester mall yesterday and i saw a hat in banana republic that was nearly EXACTLY the hat jonny wore for a big part of the X&Y tour. my head is too big to try it on though. and then in crate and barrel, i saw a guy that looked EXACTLY like will, exept he had hair. i kept staring at him and i think he got weirded out. was watching cast away on saturday night, which ive only seen twice before, and the last time was before i got into coldplay. i know that in two parts, they have titles on the screen that say "FOUR YEARS LATER" etc. i was thinking that it would be funny if the titles were in albertus, the coldplay font, and then they came up and GUESS WHAT FONT THEY WERE IN. it was creepy. i mean, i have a photographic memory, but still, when i do things like that i creep myself out. sorry about all the blabbing, ive had close to a week off from school and im going stir crazy! :laugh1:
  15. i havent really ever had a break yet, at least one longer than 2 days. ive been obsessed with them for almost two years now, which is about the usual amount of time im obsessed with a band (the beatles were my precedent: i still love them to death, but im not obsessed as i was). i have a feeling that my obsession will peter off sooner rather than later, but i think id pick anything off of AROBTTH or the hits off parachutes to get back into them god i talk too much.
  16. thats what worries me as well. i hate the thought that in london somewhere theres a vault of coldplay material that no one's ever heard...i want to hear it SO BAD. like "ladder to the sun" for example: leaked song, completely AMAZING in my opinion, but we're likely to never hear a studio version of it. im so thankful that we're able to hear it live, at least. while im disappointed about no new material (in all likelihood, anyway: i have one tiny molecule of hope that theyll throw in a new one at the last show or something), i completely understand why. chris and the guys are right. i agree with their reasoning completely. i just feel so starved for new coldplay material, and i dont know how much i believe that there'll be a new album by the end of this year. i just feel like i cant wait much longer without going psycho. i find it funny that its basically because of US that they arent playing new stuff! i mean, they didnt mention coldplaying.com directly, but we would certainly be the main offenders of spreading the music files all over the world. it reminded me of this right away: am i part of the cure or am i part of the disease? :laugh4:
  17. sigh. all i want is just one new song. just one? please? i'm pretty sure chris said something himself about new material, not just the press. i still have hope that they'll play like one new song, but if they dont, i think theyll give us a perfectly legit reason why.
  18. ^YES PLEASE!!! ohh god, my fingers are like triple-crossed. while i was semi-disappointed, i understand completely and im not angry. i just hope for at least ONE song!
  19. so ive been practically bouncing off the walls ALL DAY thinking about getting on here to see if there's any new material posted, and i just got home and...nothing. but thats ok, there's bound to be some eventually. but but but they DID play sparks, which is a surprise! still waiting anxiously for new stuff! did buy sigur ros's takk... today to check out. i listened to a clip of it on itunes and decided i needed to check it out, so i will soon, later tonight.
  20. i know! i'm practically bouncing off the walls here and im in freaking america. :laugh1: BUT THEYRE PLAYING RIGHT NOW!!!! that thought is so nice. and i think most of my excitement comes from my faith in the lovely coldplaying members in santiago to upload any new material to this site so we all can enjoy it. ohhhhh, im basically wetting my pants. i dont know if ill be able to concentrate in school tomorrow...my fingers are crossed for another snow day so i can refresh the coldplaying multimedia page every few seconds tomorrow in hope of NEW COLDPLAY MATERIAL!!!!!! :freak:
  21. ^i think they are performing right now! at least, it's 9:05 here in CT, which is in the same time zone as chile, and i think theyre like just taking the stage, probably. ohhhhh my god. THEY MAY BE PLAYING NEW MATERIAL AS I TYPE!!! im sorry, but im practically wetting myself in anticipation of new material. im basically counting the minutes until i come home tomorrow and there may be new material in audio or video form uploaded to this site. ohhh my god. ^^fluMTonks: oh my god! that's horrible! i assume youre ok now that youre home and writing here and all, but i hope you feel back up to 100% as soon as possible. even if that one song didnt work so well for you (lol, BTW), i know coldplay can only help you get back to normal. (we live rather close to each other, ive just noticed, if you live close enough to nassau coliseum to see coldplay there. interesting to note that people that are as obsessed with coldplay as i am live not too far away).
  22. oooh thanks, that's great! im going to search for it somewhere, though i doubt ill find anything. thanks though!
  23. yeah, it was just a nice feeling. though no one asked me how i knew it all. im kinda glad, because i know people would roll their eyes. i did tell my favorite teacher later on that the discussion my group had was great and i got to talk about fair trade and he was like "wooow, fair trade? thats pretty cool, i didnt know you were into that." the truth is, economics bore the CRAP out of me, like when we talk about economic theory or economic depressions or panics in history class, but somehow fair trade really interests me. almost definitley because of coldplay, namely the live 2003 tour diary and the two fingers to poverty vid. ohhh, i just love them. in other news, im foaming at the mouth at the prospect of hearing new coldplay material in a few short days. PLEEEEEEEASE someone record the audio from each concert? pleeeease? i cant say im a fan of the stache at all...sorry guys. but the longer hair is looovely! now only if chris would grow his as well...
  24. ohhh, im positively drooling at the thought of new songs!!! of course im pumped for anything that anyone records, but if by any means someone going can record just plain audio, you may just make me the happiest person in CT. i want to get any new stuff on my ipod soooo badly...
  25. 8.5 your love means everything
