  1. oh hellz yeah.. I plan on several shows this year for sho. saw 10 shows last tour. it depends on what you mean with "good seats". For a U2 fan(not the casual fan) being as close to the band is the best and last two tours those were GA tix which also happen to be the cheapest at 50 bucks a ticket with the lower/upper level of reserved seats ranging between 75 to 120 bucks. I imagine this will go up a little bit this tour with Live Nation being involved with this tour and its promotion. But U2 has always made sure that the best were the cheapest (meaning being closest to the band) I am sure they will keep down and be somewhere near the 50 bucks or maybe a tad more. Myself, I did all 10 shows that i saw GA and was and is the greatest experience ever hands down. I would never go to reserved seating for a U2 show.
  2. when you say experimental that's pretty relative to each individual's definition of it. U2 has never gone to the extreme with experimental they just like to take their music in a different direction that is still U2 you know? I would say it won't be too far off and will be mainstream cuz that's just how they are. I don't think this will be a crap album at all. Bono has always said "Two crap albums and we are out". This has yet to happen in their 30 plus years of making music I doubt it will happen this time.
  3. Can't wait! going to see them this wednesday! woohoo!
  4. well I can tell you one thing for sure the new album is not going to be like Joshua tree. From the beach clips I have heard and the reviews of the albums that I have read this new album has a achtung baby/zooropa feel with the songs. Personally i loved these albums and i like the funkyness of Boots so I am looking forward to it immensely! You can definitely feel that moroccan influence in the music. We will have to wait and see. Hopefully the album will leak before March 3rd.
  5. they did a couple of off shows here of course they are gonna come back for a bunch of dates I am sure..
  6. i guess you think I am idiot and can't look up what you posted. talking about uncalled for! Officially reported.. i guess that is a matter of opinion but I have already told you I wasn't being rude.. However, on the average (most of your posts around here) are definitely leaning in that direction. And I am trying to be polite here.
  7. y'all I just posted the link to the new single leak (snippets) and no one has seen it? or have you checked it out even?
  8. hey all ur not gonna believe this one.. a dj in seattle just couldn't contain themselves and posted two short snippets of the new single Get on your boots... listen here! http://www.1037themountain.com/pages/2284006.php also read their blog entry its pretty funny!:laugh3:
  9. thanks! it's a great job with amazing pay and benefits..
  10. no kidding! it's going to be great! I just got a new job and that day is my first day of work after being out of work for 3 months! So I won't get to hear the song until I get off of work. Apparently, a canadian dj will be playing the song as well as Dave Fanning in Ireland on 2FM (around 3am est).
  11. i don't think it's complete. My guess those boxes are place holders for the text.
  12. anytime.. gotta share the U2 love around here as much as possible.. See the last post of mine. We now have a official tracklisting of the new album!
  13. they just officially released the tracklisting for the album and the first single release...woohoo!:D Album Cover
  14. Neil Mc Cormick just gave his review of the new album.. He is such a witty writer, love his stuff! http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/neil_mccormick/blog/2009/01/15/u2s_no_line_in_the_horizon_the_new_album
  15. it's only a 2 hr concert so every artist is only going to be able to play one song each. The rumor is U2 will play Pride.. I imagine that maybe Mary J Blige will do One and probably Bono will come back on stage and duet that with her.
  16. i will for sure..;)
  17. ^nope the whole band is going to be there! I can't wait..! so excited that I am going its going to madness with all the people but hey that's ok! AND ITS GOING TO BE FREEZING COLD! UGH. I am layering up and bringing my instant hand warmers with me.
  18. ok here's the deal hbo is broadcasting it as open signal so that means that anyone that has cable, satellite can watch it here in the US. Also, you can watch it online at hbo.com. from the official inauguration website: here's the link: http://www.hbo.com/events/weareone/
  19. u2.com just comfirmed that the whole band is gonna be there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D
  20. very well said! That's what I was trying to get at before. You would think I could articulate better being such a u2fanatic as I have been for the last 22 yrs! Jeez...tongue tied sometimes..:dozey: I am going to this event too. Reuters and BBC are claiming U2 are going to be there but I am not buying it. The official website for the inauguration has only Bono there so I am trusting what they are stating more than any other source. I read somewhere that the event is going to start at 2pm and televised at 7pm so I am gonna have to get down there earlier than I thought..ugh this is stressing me out!
  21. wtf are you talking about? I wasn't referring to you in that post.. You have a problem with me take it to a PM.
  22. ^ i agree with you there in regards to coldplay.
  23. that's maybe what you would prefer but as a artist moving ahead into the future as eno tends to do with the people he works with is what a true artist is looking for, different directions it's what makes the creative juices flowing to keep in the same style year after year isn't progessive and productive for an artist. And what draws new fans year after year instead of fans like me who have been diehard u2 fan for the last 22 yrs. I feel they reinvent themselves all the time and i love that about them. I always know when I hear a U2 song mainly cuz of the edge's guitar riffs which i love.. When you go to a U2 show which I have been doing for a long time you always see a full range of ages of people: from kids to people in their 50s+. That's another thing I love about them, their reach to all kinds of people goes above and beyond what you see with a lot of other bands who have been around for 20 plus years, in their case over 30 yrs.
  24. this guy who works at a radio station got a chance to hear the new single Get on your boots. here's his review: here's the link to this post: http://u2.interference.com/f196/i-got-on-boots-this-morning-single-review-192159.html
  25. So Bono will be performing at the Lincoln Memorial Event on Sunday, January 18th. Along with many many artists! It's free if you can get down there. I am gonna try to get down there with the family myself. here's the link: http://www.pic2009.org/blog/entry/initial_talent_line-up_released_for_lincoln_memorial_event/
