The Twisted Logic Tour Sucked
chill22, I understand that it would be nice for you to have a variety of songs played at the concerts (and for all other fans who go to a lot of Coldplay's concerts) but they do change it a little and in the end, I don't care if they play the same songs at other concerts. I care about the time that i had. I had an amazing time the night that I went and I can honestly say that I would go to a concert of their's every night for a year and wouldn't get sick of it (even though I would get a HUGE dent in my bank account). However, I don't like that you seem to be blaming the band (even if that's just my interpretation) because they really can only play a certain amount of songs live and they've got to choose the ones that they can stand playing every night and that have been reasonable favourites to fans. Most people only go to one or two shows and that is what Coldplay is probably counting on so they aren't going to worry about playing the same songs because not everyone in the audience will be there every night. Plus... Coldplay aren't Radiohead. I know that you're just giving a comparison but whatever the reason may be, Coldplay don't have the opportunity or ability to play different songs each night. In any case, I've heard mostly good things about the concert and I hate that there are so many people picking at the bad things when really they should be rejoicing that they got to see Coldplay live! I think that it was an excellent concert and the band truly tried their best to keep it personal for the audience. For example, I went to the 27th June concert here in Australia and we had lost to Italy in the football that morning (should have won - very questionable penalty in the last 10seconds of the game). Chris mentioned throughout the night many things regarding the game. He said "We f***ing hate spaghetti anyway", he changed the lyrics in GPASUYF to "It shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place", he introduced Don't Panic as a song about a "British rock band who have to play to a depressed country", he told us to sing our sadness away and for the encore the band came out wearing Socceroos jerseys. I think that those little jokes, quotes and other personal touches are excellent and although concerts are about music, they would be very boring if all the band did was stand there and play. So I don't think anyone should be complaining about the concert, about Coldplay, or accusing the band of ripping everyone off. (I mean, come on, they believe in Fair Trade, why would they condone ripping off fans?) Please, chill22, don't take this as a direct target to you... I was just using what you said because it was the freshest example in my head. I'm writing this as a general thing...

Chris Martin Launches Fat Fury On MoP
I couldn't blame him in the slightest... What are you meant to do when someone is insulting you? Smile politely and agree??

Question about "Talk" Live...
My friends and I were confused about the bear as well... Personally I found it a bit disconcerting because it was just looking so lost and stuff... I dunno why though.. seems strange but at least it had an effect on me - especially if it was meant to convey the message of animal rights.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
I nearly cried at the beginning.. I just got really overwhelmed and it was so perfect... It was an absolutely amazing night.. Next time they are in Australia I'm going to try to get much better seats and if they play two times in Sydney I want to go twice and be in Gold Seating once and Gold Floor the other... that is, of course, if they play at SEC again... It was fantastic.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
I went last night and it was the most amazing night ever. I was in the very last row, it turned out, although I was directly infront of the stage... Anyway, I loved every moment! Chris came so close! He was in the next aisle! I was blown away. He commented on the socceroos a few times as well, like he threw them into a song or an introduction. I went with two of my friends, one which loves Coldplay as much as I do and one that kind of likes the songs but isn't an actual fan. The non-fan said to me today that she wants to see another Coldplay concert because they are amazing live. Things were expensive there... the merchandise, I mean. The blue rugby shirt that is $45 on the internet was $70 there...but I still bought it... The jacket was $120 though and I was like 'No way am I going to buy that.' Anyway, it was absolutely excellent and in my opinion the audience got really involved so that was good. The set list was: *Square One *Politik *Yellow *Speed Of Sound *God Put A Smile Upon Your Face *What If *Don't Panic *White Shadows *The Scientist *Til Kingdom Come *Ring Of Fire *Clocks *Talk --Encore-- *Swallowed In The Sea *In My Place *Fix You Some things that Chris said throughout (I might not have them exactly as he said it) were: "You make good balloons in Australia." - After struggling to pop the balloons towards the end of Yellow. "...We f***ing hate spaghetti anyway." - Before GPASUYF... I didn't catch the beginning of what he said. "It shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place." - Lyric change in GPASUYF. "This is a song about if you're a British rock band and you have to play in a depressed country." - Introduction to Don't Panic. "This song is dedicated to the nine-year-old boy outside the Bronte Surf Club on Sunday who stopped Jonny and I and kindly informed us that our music is shit. He was a cheeky little f***er but at least he's honest. I kindly informed him that his balls hadn't dropped yet and he looks like a tosser. Then the police kindly informed us that we should leave the country very soon... For the second time." - The beginning of Til Kingdom Come. They played a few strings of the guitar between each sentence before Chris interupted with more of his story.. "We still love you even though you lost the soccer." - At the fake 'end' of the concert... before the encore. Overall... best night of my young life... too bad I was losing my voice and so I couldn't scream very loud, or at all, because my voice couldn't reach that pitch.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
Oh my gosh... I'm even more pumped for Tuesday night now! Wow! The day after tomorrow! I'm going to be off my head with delirious excitement at school all week! I'm nowhere near the stage and I'm so excited... I'm third row from the back in silver seating... but at least my section is right infront of the stage... it's not on an angle or anything.. Still... Woohoo! Oh, and on Tuesday morning/Monday night it's the Australia vs Italy game, whihc means people going to the Tuesday night concert are likely to get soccer references too.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
This morning was fantastic! I was getting nervous but I had faith in Australia that htey would catch up because there was always plenty of time left. Near hte end, though, when it was 2-2 and the Croations were close to the Australian goals I was getting nervous because they might get another fluke goal... How awful was it with the second Croation goal where it just rolled over the goalie's body?!?! Ohhh, LUCKY (reference to Napoleon Dynamite there)! Get to see Coldplay... In fact, as I write this message you're watching them. I hope all the Brisbane people have the time of their lives, along with the rest of Australia. You can do it Australia!!! *insert 'ole' song here* I've never been before but they were last in Australia in 2003. On the 27th of June I'll have my first live Coldplay experience... I'm very happy/excited.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
6 days!!! One of my friends asked me in English yesterday how many hours there were... we figured them out... I think that leaves me with... 146 hours and 46 minutes according to the computer clock. The flyer idea sounds good... Hey, lunar1126, my name is Nadia too! He just went about saying it was a fluke that we won... and when we lost against Brazil he was rubbing that in. My older sister and I thought that the fact alone that we didn't get thrashed vs Brazil and that Brazil had to really fight for those two goals was like we won anyway. Hopefully we'll win against Croatia.

Which country will win the 2006 FIFA World Cup??
I hope Australia goes far but we have to improve a bit... The football-mad people in my year can't stand Brazil. They say that they are over-rated and people only like thme because they are winners. Personally, I don't want england to win. I would absolutely love for Australia to win. If they don't make it then I will just be indifferent about who wins. However, Australia shouldn't be under estimated. We've got potential.

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
I think my whole year stayed up for the game and we just discussed it in class that day. Best. Comeback. Ever. It was so close to the end that I was close to tears with nerves that we might not make it. Not to mention my younger brohter was saying bad things about Australia. He was like "No control and no aim". He didn't want Aust. to win. So non-patriotic. He's going for Netherlands. I hope we do well against Brazil. It would be fantastic if we won against them but IF we don't, then hopefully it won't be by much. Anyway... 10 more days until Coldplay!! It's getting closer and closer! Tomorrow it will be a one-digit number!

The Twisted Logic Tour Sucked
I think it's perfectly logical to have pretty much the same set list, and to have balloons at every show etc., because everyone deserves to get the same experience. I mean, how unfair would it be if some people get all these great songs and lovely light shows and balloons, and then other people don't. I can't remember now who said it, but someone pointed out that they are playing to different people every night and I think that is an important thing to remember. The band is trying to impress most people. Of course some will be disappointed but that's life and that's someone's opinion so what can you do? As long as you found yourself smiling throughout the concert, and after, then that is what matters in the end. There are only 10 more big sleeps until I get to see them play for the first time and I'm absolutely physced. I don't care if they've played the same songs and had the same routines at other concerts. All I care about is how they perform on the night that I go and how I will feel that night. Even for the fans that have been to one hundred Coldplay concerts in their lives, they will generally just think about how Coldplay played the nights they were there and how good the performance was. Of course the concert is routine. You can't play at big venues to thousands of people and just wing it. You can't just go "Oh, I'll just randomly play this song now simply because I feel like it. Who cares about the poor sound people, light people, other people? I'm sure they'll figure out what I'm doing and just play along." I understand that it's nice to have something random thrown at you but you can't expect miracles, people! Concerts have to be so thoroughly planned. In the end, the only people who can truly complain about similar set lists are the band and the behind-the-scenes workers, because they're the ones who have to play the same thing over and over again! We just have to sit back, relax, and listen. Can anyone really find a huge cause for concern in our role??

You know you're obsessed with coldplay when
When you actually take the time to look in the telephone book to see how many G Berryman's, J Buckland's, W Champion's and C Martin's there are in the Sydney area. When you say to your friends "I feel like sitting in the sunlight" and in your head you start singing 'Sunlight opened up my eyes.." When you are in Math and instead of doing your work you figure out how to write 'Coldplay' with the calculator and then you show all your friends and your teacher is over at the table one of your friends is at so you show him too and he just smiles. When you cry because your brother watches The Godfather II and refuses to put the TV on the music channel even though you put a reminder on the TV to watch a Coldplay special. (I was at an emotional time of the month...) When you have a strict budget for the month but you make an allowance when you see a Coldplay CD. When your Mum and sister comment that you have laser eyes for Coldplay because you could be walking along quite fine and then suddenly you stop becasue you've seen something of Coldplay. When they are in your dreams. When you count down the days until you get to see them in concert even though you are just about sitting at the back.... and you have the countdown written on your calendar, your school diary, in your school books, on your phone, on msn.... When pretty much your whole year at school knows how much you love Coldplay.

Coldplay on CD Live in Australia
I'm not sure if this is posted but I didn't see it... To any Australians with Foxtel or Optus or something, there is a show on Fox8 called CD Live and apparently they're going to have Coldplay on this Saturday (3rd of June) at 6:30pm. That's NSW time... I'm not sure if it will be different in other states/territories/New Zealand. I don't know if it's an interview or performance or what, but all they said was that Coldplay would be on...

AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!
Hey, Stuart, if you don't want to risk ebay, maybe you can try the Trading Post or some other newspaper? A friend from school said that he saw Coldplay tickets selling in there the other day, so I assume it's legal...
