  1. The Bucket Woman! :laugh3:
  2. A question of cement or planes, either of which can lead to headstones? Golly, that could be painful to pass! Best to give it a rest, in finely carved granite. Anyhow, missing a quiet office! Mobility is a challenge unless one comes prepared.. Gaggles of giggling geese here, though it's approaching white noise. Thunder! All things lost return in time, like a boomerang tossed into the air, but for the moment we feel out of sorts. Here comes the sun! Quick dash on the bike.. bye y'all!
  3. Lo mejor de Enya.:)
  4. Quotes from Queen Beatrix's last speech, which stand out and rise above all else in my mind: Key: "the monarch swears to uphold the Constitution and protect the rights and freedoms of all the inhabitants of the Kingdom" "..the imperative that is essential to the office: to act without regard to personal preference, and to stand above the interest of party or group. In fulfilling his task, he will ask for the support and trust of the Dutch people. We all feel blessed by the fact that his endearing wife Máxima, with her warm heart and clear understanding of human relations, will play a special role." "In laying down my duties as Queen, I am above all filled with a sense of deep gratitude. Without your heart-warming and encouraging expressions of regard, the burdens of office - and they have certainly made themselves felt - would have been very heavy indeed. I would like to let you know, in saying farewell, that your affection has given me the strength I needed. In the future too, your continuing closeness will remain a great support." "When tomorrow my eldest son assumes this rewarding and responsible task, it is my dearest wish that the new Royal couple will also feel supported by your loving trust. I am convinced that Willem-Alexander will devote himself, with loyalty and dedication, to discharging his duties as a good King should. " ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ It is with these words that we see the advancement in understanding, compassion, and support of freedom for the Dutch and for all peoples, a continuity of purpose and spirit of goodness in the House of Orange and the houses of the Netherlands for all the world to see. Bless her soul for rising to the higher ground, and to Willem-Alexander in his new position as King and protector of freedom, and to Maxima, who's role is one so necessary in a world in need of warmth.
  5. They made me bug out of this joint before I could respond, I'm glad you got the gig!!! Peter Townshend's music yes, solo stuff probably not yet, but if I get time, I will! White City, committed to memory. Now just resume writing, listing to Enya, watched the cousins riding around in a carriage on TV, apparently Kate's baby bump is growing! Anyhow, TTYl, keep the tunes a flowing! :)

  9. Serving lemon tomato bean stew to the daughter of Rasmussens, Nelsons, Johnsons, and kin. It was nice to see her all smiles!:) Wolverhamptons? are they in the Hamptons?? Amsterdam sounds nice, for some reason I always imagine sailing ships and cheese! Glad to hear good memories returned, much the same here, I am longing for home.. Time together is magical, glad you had that chance
  10. the time of day doesn't last, evening has earned it's place today.. I'm tired of working oooo, working, living it brings, only way to have those things... toiling has born too many tears.. turn all of those fears, Evening time to get away, evening time to get away, evening time to get away.. till' next day. Live all you people, you can see where you're at, It really doesn't hurt you, so you can, depend..
  11. My local neandertal snapping his fingers to the beat of some commercial Jingle. Definitely capable of using a remote, but chooses wisely to operate the TV manually. Clearly, it was consumer culture that did them in, too much fried food!:P
  12. Wish we had an answer to prevent more of the tragic consequences of the landslides and earthquakes - interestingly, I had always wondered if storms and tides moved the crust enough to trigger land movements, and interestingly the TV news covered a bit of information I found fascinating - that the North American crust had been shifted as a result of superstorm Sandy - which leads one to wonder if this movement and similar storms are enough to change some of the parameters related to earthquakes and landslides. Disaster preparedness serves us well, but for the most powerful forces of nature, evacuation seems like the better choice - if only we knew when the earth were to move...

Welcome Alexandre! Your skills in English are already quite good, keep up the good work!
  14. Hewllo Miss Bohemia - Bavaria - Silesia! Hopefully the news was not too sad, thought in life's happenings we don't always control the outcomes of. I was thinking how lucky we are for all the blessings in life we have, sometimes I forget as well.

Hello Randyk! Welcome to the most Bohemian of Bohemian enclaves, the most artistic of all art glasses ever blown, the most poppy-seed filled Kolackys of all Kolackys! Welcome to Coldplaying, & glad you could join!!
  16. Hey, cheer up :), you're hardly out of the starting gate! Just look at the need for English teachers, editors of technical journals, translators, and there are some future jobs out there! Try and gauge the demand properly, then decide - I wonder, since there's been downward emphasis on English majors, perhaps the need may be significant in the future? If you major in English and get your teaching degree, you might land the English teaching job, or teach at another level and simply be great with language skills, which then translates into better communication with students, improving their language skills as well. Or perhaps if you choose a double major in English and let's say Farsi or Arabic or Chinese, you may discover a larger universe of opportunities opening up to you! Or a double major in English and Chemistry for example could lead to a career in producing information on given chemicals, whereas a double major in English and Biology may land you a job in writing biology books, or some facet related to that line of work. On the balance, it's a good combination to have with other majors, and may be in higher demand in the future, depending on the level of entrants.
  17. I wish I were home, be it ever so humble; this is an awkward situation, not a stable place to get focused and more ahead from. Thank goodness I will be heading back soon though!
  18. Glad the police apprehended him, maybe they can piece the puzzle together a bit more. It would good to understand what leads people to act on frustrations and do so much harm to innocent people, to reduce the odds of this happening again at the root of the trouble.
  19. Freedom is most cherished and best understood when we have lost our own. My thoughts and feelings are with the victims of the bombing of the Boston marathon.
  20. If you wake up and you don't whant to smile, if it takes just a little while open up your eyes and look at the day, you'll see things in a different way. Don't stop thinking about tomorrow, don't stop it'll soon be here, it it'll be better than before, yesterday... is gone. Why not think about times to come, not about the thing's you've done. Yesterday's gone, yesterday's gone. I just want to see you smile, if it takes a little while.
  21. This is nice! Cool sand art too. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ce1bBcDviAU]Erica Mou - Don't Stop (Thinking About Tomorrow) [[spot Eni Febbraio 2011]] - YouTube[/ame]
