Cupcakes for all
Happy to see you've joined in, Emma!:hat::chef::daisy::sunny: Cupcakes hey, that sounds scrumptious! :p:smart: Glad to hear Coldplay's music helped you through some rough patches in life, I have to say they got me re-interested in music after a long spell without, and reinvigorated my life. That sounds pretty intense, coffee and vanilla! :stunned::wacko: But no doubt flavorful. ;) You're so sweet, baking cakes for friends just to see their faces light up - truly the sweetest thing one can do for a friend.

What made you happy today?
Aww Lory, that's so sweet of you. You have such great empathy, you're truly an angel for helping those refugees in need:angel::sunny: . Maybe someday it will all be better, but for now, people try and make it elsewhere so they can move ahead in life, or at least survive in a land unfamiliar to them. You're bringing a little ray of sunshine into their lives, the best things in life come from shared happiness.

Is it now 'cool' to like Coldplay?
I think this has been true for a long time, the phenomenon of a musical group being 'uncool' which, when they achieve a level of popularity because they songs are great and true to heart, suddenly they are seen as 'cool' and hip and all that. If by comparison, one looks at the Beatles and how they began following Buddy Holly & the Crickets and Elvis and the great blues artists, their strain of music was much more gentle and sensitive from the start, and it gradually evolved as well. At the same time there were the 'cool' groups - groups with an edge - The Animals, the Rolling Stones, and many more. So taken from that perspective, they fit into a more human stream of music, which will never be "cool", but comes from the gentle heart, from more compassionate yearnings.

Coldplay nominated for 3 Grammy Awards // Paradise to feature on 2012 Grammy Nominees Album (pg.5)
Well, there is something special about music made by musicians with more traditional instruments, but as seen from the long view, technology has always been enhancing the sound. Instruments began as simple strands tensioned between a wooden frame, or strung along a wooden pole, Then metal frames were used for the harp, then a keyed mechanical plucker, hence the autoharp / harpsichord, then the soft hammer and mechanism of the piano, and so forth. Recording too - from Edison's cylinder to disc to vinyl to German reel to reel and so forth. Dubbing by Les Paul from that, and on it went. My belief is that whatever moves you, go with - it's all the work of real people in some form, guided by the heart in what the makers envisioned.

who are you people
> Well, you have on-line friends!:hat::nice: (but it's better to have both..) Maybe you can meet those friends of yours who are on-line? Anyhow, being able to solve n-dimensional equations to describe the volume of an asymmetrical object, maximize one or another aspect of that object, and include it's dynamic attributes is perhaps useful in many aspects of computer modelling - from flame fronts in combustion chambers to simulating complex chemistry on the surfaces of catalysts, someone has to do the programming! (although, today there exists software to do much of that... and software to find 'best fit' equations.. ) . Math as an artistic recreation then? Make some beautiful geometric shapes.. Physicists doodle in art.. Nevahmind! just me babbling on. :laugh3:

tis' only meant as a compliment, just the usual surprise though! ;) It is true though, with effort, one can improve one's intelligence, and having conditions conducive to learning with available materials helps quite a bit. Plus, there's the entertaining side vs. the scholarly side - great to see you can do both!:) > I was catching frogs with my bare hands at age two and a half, and petting bumblebees. :P
