Green Cars
Well, it's a prototype they're showing around, to get feelers on whether or not there's a market for high end electrics. No Wires, Sire: Rolls-Royce Electric Uses Induction Charging – Cell Phones & Mobile Device Technology News & Updates | Geek.com Nice to see Rolls taking a lead in the inductive charging arena!

Have coldplay ever done drugs?
:shocked2:OMG! Chris Martin has a fungal infection in his nose! Shrooms' are popping out! :laugh3: Or maybe... that's the cheese! He said, "..and I never eat cheese with it", but perhaps that's the muenster? Brie? Cottage? Really, snorting cheese - I've heard it can be habit forming, so maybe this is the new way.

Is it fair to fine fat people for not dieting?
I've got the answer. Since fat people have an excess they don't want, and skinny people in the developing world need fat, then it's a simple matter of free trade! :P

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead
Great Article the_gloaming09! That sums up what my gut reaction was to it all, but I could not put words to it. Probably what many of us felt. We certainly have the technology to do these sorts of operations, but if we put power above the rule of law, ultimately we degrade ourselves to the level of terrorists ourselves. And the one thing we don't want is an endless cycle of revenge. Bravo for posting this article.

What annoyed you today?
:laugh3: Now that's a bummer! I was annoyed today because the highway deportment here didn't fill in the deep gully by the road, and I had to take 20 load of gravel and do it myself. They should be deported for that! :P

Stewert vs O'Reilly
The Fox is really a huge squid of many tentacles!:borg: Beware of it's radula, as once the tentacles have you in their grip, you make a tasty meal for the heads of commerce and commercial broadcasting! Mmmmm!

HOW TO GET TO HEAVEN WHEN YOU DIE
The Pledge of Allegiance here is, and I think they should leave out the "under god" part - that's not part of the original, and we live in a nation of freedom to choose one's beliefs as a principle we uphold. I'll put my faith in reason and enlightenment, our collective knowledge and understanding, and the stories of compassion and justice as guides to light the way to a better world for us all. We ought not pledge allegiance to a flag, but to our belief in the natural rights of mankind, and to our earth, because there is so much more than just we humans on this planet.:mudkip:

Stewert vs O'Reilly
I vote for Jon Stewart, the sane one. Bill O'Reilly is a frothing at the mouth angry madman, simple as that. Just a shock jockey, hoping to provide his audience with ammo to use to prop and pump up their angry minds, get them to watch so they can sell more antacid tablets. Plus, Stewart is really middle of the road neutral when it comes to politics.

When do you think LP5 will come out?
Cheers to you too :) To B or not to B, that is the question! Maybe B or Maybe A, Quixotic as that choice may B. LP5 will come out in this century we believe, or somewhere in the space-time continuum.

Stewert vs O'Reilly
They're all about marketing and repeated lies told convincingly enough to an audience wanting to believe those lies. And yes, the 2nd amendment - as the old joke goes, "the right to keep and arm bears" :laugh3: Or maybe boars, in the case of the conservatives. Yes, a lot of homicides here, really I think we top the world in that sense. Quite awful that is. It's, I think, more of a problem with handguns than anything else. If the conservatives love their guns so much, then they could go the extra mile to offer government paid education programs to keep the guns safe and out of the hands of minors, reduce domestic abuse by protecting battered women and children, and tighten up the background checks. Instead they seem to want the opposite. They see it as the ultimate check on power I suppose, or at least in their imaginations, as we sell away our last rights to the corporations and their owners... oh wait, isn't that the owners of Faux news and most other major news outlets? And guess who stirs up the angst here.. hm, little wonder we're in the boat we're in.

Green Cars
That could be the case - although strange then that it is being talked about as some new, yet-to-be applied technology with cars? Hm, maybe Rolls Royce is way ahead of the rest of us! I'm guessing David might know though.. :toff:

The called Spanish Revolution movement
All things start with a few willing to march or begin the process. I recall the same thing in Egypt - it started small, and then a lot more joined in, and more, and then more, and then it spread like wildfire throughout Egypt! Never underestimate what a few dedicated individuals can accomplish. Chance favors the prepared mind and body.

The called Spanish Revolution movement
Power concedes nothing without a fight. If there is enough push, things will change. The will of the people, the rights of the citizens, cannot be subverted forever - there will come a day. One of our founding fathers, Thomas Jefferson, wrote this over two centuries ago: What country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not warned from time to time that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? The Tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is the natural fertilizer. Although, Albert Einstein believed in non-violent revolution producing lasting change, and there are many examples of this working - one notable place is Chile. Albert Einstein Institution - 198 Methods of Nonviolent Action I hope the struggle continues, and the young people force some real reforms in the government of Spain! Root out the corruption, and get to the roots of the corruption.

Pardon me for interrupting, but I was just wondering how your Cedar trees are doing? Are more being planted, is reforestation an issue in Lebanon? :)

Osama Bin Laden Is Dead
I just think we've wandered into cowboy mentality again here in the U.S...:cowboy::whip: Sure, Bin Laden could have been booby-trapped, oh sure, but he may very well have been unarmed, and the seals perhaps new this.. So it seems to me that by the policy (kill or capture as it is named may really mean kill mainly, capture occasionally) and then by omission, the policy was retained, the expectation was to kill Bin Laden. As a matter of justice, it made more sense to capture Bin Laden and his associates because: (1) This sets a standard of showing that the rule of law and justice through impartial trial, is what we in the U.S. stand for. (2) By following a fair process, the impact in Pakistan and elsewhere would be to make citizens there see us as honest and fair, as credible in our claims to respecting human rights and democratic institutions. Because we would actually be walking the walk, not just saying one thing and doing another! (3) The truth would come out in a trial. So if that's a bit embarrassing, so be it; better to live with what might be disclosed about past deals with Osama Bin Laden than to subvert the truth in this manner, or cast doubt upon U.S. motives. The best disinfectant is sunlight. (4) Precedent. To ignore the rule of law, the system we have put faith in, is to subvert the very meaning of our democratic republic. ***** There is no such thing as a war on terror - this misnomer has allowed us to create an excuse to do anything anywhere - since the so-called "enemy" could be anywhere. Violating state sovereignty, individual privacy, protections of security in one's home and with one's papers, taking life without even so much as a trial, all for an amorphous war on terror, which has been parlayed into doing whatever we please, where-ever we please, does not build allies, but engenders mistrust towards the U.S. around the globe. It is a complete violation of all that we stand for, and the whole matter needs to be re-examined. What is called for is an international cooperative effort to reduce poverty and inequity, and simultaneously bring to justice those involved in terrorist training and attacks. Short of that, the whole thing fails on both its merits and effectiveness.

The called Spanish Revolution movement
Sounds like the beginnings of the blooming of real democracy! Viva La Spain! Viva La Revolution! Viva La Vida! :sunny::sombrero::sunny: The ultimate check on power are the will of the citizens. We need much the same here, given the levels of corruption and inequity that continue to grow, and a congress that simply rotates stock with the corporate monsters. Si to the Spanish Revolution!!:guitarist::wink:

What's the weather like today in your town?
It's 15 or 16C, depending on where you look at the thermometer, overcast, and a bumblebee is pollinating the nanking cherries outside the kitchen window here.:)
