  1. Um, I think they only sound alike from this song. Two totally different bands. I can see where the comparison can come from the singing, but I think that's pretty much it. And Nina, you should totally check Drum's Not Dead by Liars.
  2. NOT JULY?!! Are you sure of the date? EDIT: Oh damn, that is true.. It used to be Mid July.
  3. Explains the arabic version of thyme more (Za'atar): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Za%27atar And its importance to our culture. Tastes better heated up, but it's totally still edible after two hours.

Done weed only. It started in Amsterdam with a brownie. Never laughed that much in my life. But later experiences were less about laughing and more of a woozy experience. I once spent a day in Amsterdam going from coffee shops to coffee shops smoking joints and eating brownies. What a day... (It was Queen's Day in Amsterdam. Literally the whole city was in the streets in orange, celebrating) The after taste the next morning was fucked up though. Would say that was pretty much the only negative. However, I did go into a dark zone after drinking quite a bit and smoking one joint. But it got better later on. I blame the alcohol more for that honestly. Alcohol can really get to me sometimes, as opposite to weed. I'd rather overdose on weed than alcohol anytime! Miss weed like hell now, it's too hard to get it now where I live.
  5. OMG, that's actually in Aachen :o
  6. I'm glad I accidentally found this thread! Going there in two weeks for the first time and needed help too
  7. And yada, yada, yada, I'm really tired today.
  8. Haha! Sorry :P
  9. Umm [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=192MiKNk03c&feature=feedu]Radiohead From The Basement - YouTube[/ame] It's for a limited time.
  10. Ah! Thanks guys Need to keep in mind how much I should be saving :P
  11. Oh, so it's starting October 2nd? For sure?
  12. When are they saying anything about the tour daaates! This is so annoying. Question, for those of you who've been to a Radiohead concert: How much does it usually cost to go to one?
  13. Definitely downloading this! :wacky: Hello Jasmine! I'm Lana. :nice: Wooo, Animal Collective.. I did listen to some of their songs a while back but I'm surprised I quite liked them! Should probably check them out more now, thanks. And would definitely check out all the others I liked. I like how there are so many artists I don't know. Thanks a lot again! :nice:
  14. My reviiiew! (After 3rd listen) :wacky: 1. Durmming and strings. Quite nice. Sounds quite Sigur Ros-y with the violins. Vocals start, his voice reminds me a bit of Chris Martin's! Hehe. Chilled, not bad for a start. Really intense violins come and go <3 Wow, end.. lovely. 2. Piano starts, hmm. Clapping! Looks like a good one! Vocals sound familiar, but my memory fails me. Sound reminds me of Sufjan Stevens somehow too. Maybe it is him..? There's a build up halfway. Good song. 3. Really nice start. I like vocals and background music. Chilled and nice. Female voice singing along too. It's a sweet song =) I enjoyed overall. 4. Good start! Drumming, guitar and interesting howling vocals. Loving main vocals. Sounds familiar again. Really terrific. Probably my favourite so far. It's quirky <3 5. Piano starts. Sounds a bit cheesy somehow, but I appreciate the violins. Instrumental track, I believe. It's alright. Not a big fan. 6. Fleet Foxes?! Sounds so much like them. Guitaaar, awesome. Vocals are really good. This has grown on me after 3rd listen. Catchy beat. 7. Scruffy sounds.. Sigur Ros? Now this sounds a lot like them. But vocals are not them again, hmm. Maybe some sort of collaboration? Gets all lively in the middle. Pretty enjoyable. 8. Acoustic beginning. Soft male vocals which also sounds familiaaar, grrr. But I like, I like. Great violins. Pretty mellow and chilled again. Seems to be quite the theme through out the mix. Build up is not bad and it gets livelier near the end. Good track. 9. Acoustic-y again. Chocked-up vocals. This is the most mellow so far. I quite like. Pretty complimenting quirky ending too. 10. Piano emerges, and a pretty good piano for that matter. I remember this was an instrumental one..? Let's see. Is it Eluvium? It just came to me that it could be him. Ambient bliss, this is. <3 11. Really good start, ambient build-up sounds with vocals. Terrific build up. Quite enjoying this. This and the one before are the highlights for me so far. Getting pretty intense, all singing and dancing along too. 12. Guitar and loud violins. Folk song with pretty good vocals. I like the violins too. 13. Last one! This was my first love <333 Love this track to bits. Really wanna know who this is! Most upbeat in the mix. Awesome drumming in the middle! This song's got it all. I love the Indian music feel too. *dances* It's a pretty enjoyable mix overall and I quite appreciate it. At first listen, I had a hard time focusing on songs since they somehow all sounded the same. But yeah that changed after a few listens. I would've liked to have seen some more variety in style though but it's fine, I enjoyed  The music on the mix were not something far from what I listen to or probably used to listen to more but I still reeeally wanna know who the artists are! Cause as you can see I quite enjoyed the songs apart from track 5, I believe. Main highlights are definitely, track 7, 8 and 13. And the other odd ones. Thanks a lot for the mixtape, mixtape maker :nice: Can't wait to see who it was!
  15. Hello, Paula! I'm Lana :nice: I don't like iTunes that much either haha, so I understand. But that's how I have that album. Well it's a Google Earth shot of Paris, but I edited it quite a bit. The top left is the Arc de Triomphe & Champs-Elysees as you can see. :wacky:
  16. This was my mixtape! :wacky: This was Lammicken by Braids. I listened to them because of this particular song I came across by chance. I love the start and build up in it too. Glad you appreicated :nice: This was Oh, Maker by Janelle Monáe. She is a new pop/soul female artist. She's quite cool and got a style of her own (respect). This particular song might have not shown it so well, but her album is pretty good, imo, also comparing to other today's pop artists. Anyway, another good description of her music from wiki: "Her musical styles have been described as "a soaring orchestral trip enlivened with blockbuster vocals, mysterious imagery and notes of Sixties pop and jazz"." Correct! I quite fancy their musical style. Glad you liiike. :nice: This is Liam Finn's Jump Your Bones. I love this guy. And Fomo, his album, is one piece of work. Everything on it is pure bliss. Had quite a hard time picking only one song haha. Should definitely check it out  Melody Day by Caribou, pretty interesting artist. Got so many different projects on his hands, such as: Manitoba and Daphni. Just started listening to him recently. But I quite Like Andorra! And you seem to enjoy similar music, so I recommend, defo. Battles - Snare Hangar. Another new band for me that I quite liked. Their album is truly terrific. The Antlers's Rolled Together. Indie/dream pop band. Got pretty famous through their debut Hospice, but this song was from their second album Burst Apart. Too bad you didn't like though. I was trying to go into the more mellow parts of my mix with this. A collaborative project between Danger Mouse and Italian composer Daniele Luppi. It's called Black. Song's vocals are, though, by Norah Jones. Quite a beautiful, relaxing album this is. And Jack White is in it too, so :awesome: Glad you liked!! It's I Became a Prostitute by The Twilight Sad. Scottish band indeed. I quite like these guys. This particular song is from their Acousitc EP though. Their sound is more loud/shoegaze-y <3 You should check them out  Intro: A Cosmic Drama by Flying Lotus. Electronic/Experimental artist. His album Cosmogramma is one masterpiece. Would recommend but I'm not sure how much you're into the electronic scene. Haha, nice review. But I still love this baby hehe. It's called My Red Hot Car by Squarepusher. It's hardcore electronic, I would say, so I could see why didn't like much. Just wanted to give it go :wacky: Well, it's an m4a and would work only on iTunes. Thought you'd notice that, sorry about that =/ Anyway, here's video! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ewc1hixzYPY]Madvillain - All Caps - YouTube[/ame] I have so much love for this song <3 SOO glad you like this particular one. :nice: He's one of my newest loves, this artist. <3 Another great electronic/experimental one. It's Four Tet and song is Slow Jam. It's pretty cool I got to make you one! Since you made me one too :wacky: Really happy you enjoyed. :nice: Tracklist: 1.
