Okay so, I think I have a pretty good love story in which Coldplay had a part... One day when I was 17 and in my high school, I was sitting in a classroom with my friends during lunch, and a big guy comes in with one of my friends, but I've never met him before. He's listening to his mp3 player and I ask him what he's listening to just to start a conversation. He says he's listening to Coldplay. I automatically think it's a joke and my friends told him I love Coldplay and he's just making fun of me, because I wouldn't expect anyone in my ghetto high school to listen to awesome soft-rock such as Coldplay. But he confirms it and says he is listening to White Shadows. We spend the rest of lunch discussing X&Y (the newest album at the time) and he sings me some lines from Swallowed in the Sea (my favourite love song) and then walks out to go to class. We became friends for the next two years in high school and for my 18th birthday he bought me the NME magazine from the UK that included the vinyl for A Spell A Rebel Yell. When Violet Hill was first released as a free download I woke up at around 6am to get it before leaving for school. And we listened to it together at my locker. I remember he said "Why the fuck does Chris Martin sound so angry?" and it made me laugh. We also went to go buy Viva la Vida together and listened to it for the first time together. At this time he also admitted to me that after X&Y first came out he listened to the whole album every night. And that his favourite album was A Rush of Blood to the Head and his favourite Coldplay song was Daylight. Coldplay was coming to Vancouver for the Pemberton Festival and my parents had bought me two tickets. So of course I invited the guy, because there was no one else I knew who also liked them. We could have gone but he didn't have enough money to pay me back for the tickets. But because I asked him to go with me, he told me later it was the first time he ever thought I might have liked him than more of a friend. And then he started thinking about me more as a girl rather than just a huge Coldplay nerd girl. We talked online a lot during the summer. And apparently that's when he fell in love with me and asked me to be his girlfriend. I told him he was about a year late but I said yes and we picked Postcards from Far Away to be our cheesy couple love song. About 6 months after I took him to his first concert, which was when Coldplay came back to Vancouver to play a stadium show. He knew I loved the song 42, so in all the cards he gave me he would write "You are my 42". Which I didn't get at first, and then he explained that he was trying to be romantic and was saying that I was his answer to life, the universe, and everything. We've been together for 2.5 years now and Coldplay is still my #1 band, but he became less interested as time went on and was never "in the mood for Coldplay". Of course I was excited when Every Teardrop is a Waterfall was set to be released. 2 days after it came out I asked him what he though of it and he said he didn't bother to listen to it. Shocked and upset I forced him to, and he said it was okay. And then he told me he was pretty much over Coldplay and he's not interested in them anymore at all. He said his time with their music was done. And now I am heartbroken. We became friends through Coldplay! and he started liking me because I asked him to a Coldplay concert! and now he's "over them". So that's why I think my Coldplay love story is fading away...i guess I can still love him, but who knows really. I have lost my Coldplay friend =( Well if we get married in future, I'm going to play Coldplay during the wedding, and he's just going to have to deal with it :P

i was just wondering what people did because i always go to parachutes for some nice old soft coldplay tunes :)

I know X&Y is now the least liked album by the band, but it was my favourite, and I've seen the setlists and they've played Square One during the Viva la Vida tour but I'm just wondering why not White Shadows instead? Personally I love that song and prefer it over Square One. If they were to pick only a few songs from X&Y I would hope White Shadows would be one. Anyone agree with me? I hope Coldplay still like the song. I'm very happy Chris and Will have fell in love with The Hardest Part again because that's my second favourite Coldplay song ever! but anyways...either validate me or shoot me down -- White Shadows better than Square One???

i know how you feel. its the whole...they are PERFECT so it seems unreal. but its reality. and theyre really not perfect we just think they are cuz they are so awesome in reality. which is Beautiful. (if any of that made sense. i know..its hard to explain :P)

Hi all. Just wondering if there was anyone else out there who is a "coldplay couple". by that i mean...you and your boyfriend/girlfriend are both crazy coldplay fans. im sure there are many out there so please share your story here, just for fun. My story is as follows: In high school a boy came into the classroom I was in and sat with one of my other friends across from me. I had never met him before, but he was in my grade. He was listening to his mp3 player and one of my other friends asked him what he was listening to. He said "Coldplay". I looked around at my friends thinking they had told him Im a crazy coldplay nerd and now he was just making fun of me. But he showed me and he was actually listening to X&Y (the new album back then). So at that moment I, of course, fell in love with him. especially since he was the only other person in the world I had ever met who was an actual coldplay fan (not just downloaded the singles heard on the radio). Then he started singing "swallowed in the sea" to me just for fun. Anyways, that plus other similarities brought us together and we became friends. When Violet Hill was released on coldplay.com I downloaded it in the morning and brought it to school and we listened to it together for the first time. We both agreed chris sounded abnormally angry. lol Last year when Coldplay was doing the pemberton festival in BC I wanted to go, but had no one to go with, so asked him to come with me. Of course I basically begged him cuz I realy wanted to go. In the end we couldnt go but he had considered the fact that maybe I liked him as more than a friend since I had chosen him. And I had told him that one day he would have to go to a coldplay concert with me. After that summer he finally asked me to be his girlfriend. Now we are a "couple" and one of my girlfriends said she knew it would happen ever since we started to discuss coldplay together and it is was meant to be. lol And we're going to the vancouver coldplay concert together this summer :) side notes: finally we have decided which coldplay song will be "our song" and we picked "postcards from far away". (He wanted Rainy Day but I said that song was too good and if we broke up it would be ruined for me forever :P) and the plan is....constant coldplay at our wedding! :D lol (even if all our guests hate it) anways, just wondering if anyone else had any stupid stories like this. sorry if my story is really gushy and girly. but please, if you can beat my coldplay love story please try -- i wanna hear someone else's :)

they will release goldrush since they released the lyrics. if they do not release leftrightleftrightleft and famous old painters i will be mad. i want to hear all the viva la vida tracks. they shouldnt keep things like this from us. when will they learn...

I have this live version of the song "Life Is For Living"--i think its from the 2003 Live DVD. But anyways, i can't figure out what he is saying at the end of the song. It goes... I found this picture in my literature textbook this year during school. I thought it was a really cool picture so i photocopied it. And now after the new coldplay cd and especially the song Cemeteries of London, I see it matches pretty well with the themes of the album. I think its perfect for Cemeteries of London. So I scanned it and uploaded it here for anyone else who likes it. I took it to Kinkos and they enlarged it and laminated for me so now its a huge poster in my room =) Enjoy.

Keane is copying Coldplay, maybe subconsciously if they don't admit to it. Music is still nice though. I am a Keane fan. I read somewhere their next album will be called "Perfect Symetry", like seriously?: "All I ever wanted to be/living in perfect symmetry/nothing is as down or as up, as us." -Low.

i love X&Y. best album in the universe. (only song i thought on the cd wasnt fantastic was Twisted Logic-it was just okay) I love Reign of Love. I Love Chinese Sleep Chant. :)

yeah i know, it is very popular.. i dont know if i like it alot yet. but yeah..all my friends who arent coldplay fans love it, i think cuz of the beat, plus it has the well-known coldplay sappyness element. o well...what can ya do....
