  3. Never heard of that band. But I thought 1D would win.
  4. Yeah me too. I guess George is placed as the third after Sam Smith. He, George and Ed are my top favorites so I literally cant choose one for the winner though!

  10. Twitter predicts BRIT Awards wins for One Direction and Taylor Swift Bing made some bets on who’d win at the Oscars and did pretty well. Now, Twitter has used mentions data to make its own predictions about who’ll win at tonight’s BRIT Awards. The BRITs are effectively the British equivalent of the Grammys and this year’s ceremony will see some hotly contested battles between some of pop music’s biggest names. Twitter’s been tracking the number of mentions acts have got in relation to the awards since the nominations were announced in January. It’s predicting success for One Direction and Taylor Swift, and disappointment for Ed Sheeran and Coldplay. Here’s its full list of predictions: British Female Solo Artist Winner: Paloma Faith (@PalomaFaith) Runner Up: Ella Henderson (@EllaHenderson) British Male Solo Artist Winner: Paolo Nutini (@PaoloNutini) Runner Up: Ed Sheeran (@EdSheeran) British Group Winner: One Direction (@OneDirection) Runner Up: Coldplay (@Coldplay) International Male Solo Artist Winner: Beck (@Beck) Runner Up: Hozier (@Hozier) International Female Solo Artist Winner: Taylor Swift (@TaylorSwift13) Runner Up: Sia (@Sia) International Group Winner: 5 Seconds Of Summer (@5sos) Runner Up: Foo Fighters (@FooFighters) British Single Winner: Mark Ronson Ft Bruno Mars – ‘Uptown Funk’ (@MarkRonson) Runner Up: Ella Henderson ‘Ghost’ (@EllaHenderson) If you want to affect the result of one of the awards, the winner of Best Video is being decided by Twitter vote. The acts still in the running are Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson, One Direction and Sam Smith. The hashtag to vote for the winner will be revealed at 8pm GMT by the BRIT Awards Twitter account. 11. Hehehe thank you Atlas
  12. Thank you very much everyone :) Terima kasih :D
  13. I dont see ages really matter. I feel that sometimes when their musical work is at its best, they nailed it. And popularity is a huge plus because thats where their music is being heard. I personally vote for Sam Smith on the 2nd place for next year. Coldplay the 1st if they release AHFOD :D
  14. Does anyone know who directed the alternate video of ASFOS?
  15. grids replied to Sparky's topic in Announcements

  18. I have a feeling the band wont be playing at Glasto this year. Or will they?
  19. The track is lovely, thanks Captain! I keep listening to it on repeat these days and O remix from Batman too :D
  20. What a great move! So proud of him!
  21. gai, thanks for the article. I dont know if anyone here who thinks that Coldplay will be the next U2 in about like more than a decade. I have already thought about this for a quite long time but havent really confessed out loud until now :P and I remember when I did an interview last year with the bbc radio 5, I think the radio guy asked me if Coldplay would have any chance to split sooner or later then I think I said nah the band will stay in about 20 years because if they splitted I would be so disappointed lol.
  22. Annie Mac is to be the new host of BBC Radio 1's weekday evening new music show with current host Zane Lowe leaving to go to work for Apple in the US. Lowe has hosted the night-time show, which is broadcast Monday to Thursday 7-9pm, since 2003. He will be replaced by Mac from Monday, March 9. The DJ, who began her radio career as a broadcast assistant to Zane Lowe on the show, will now take over. Announcing his departure, Lowe said: "The station has allowed me to share incredible music with the country's best music fans - I've loved every minute of it. Exciting times lie ahead." In recent years Lowe's global profile has extended with a number of headline-making interviews including Kanye West, Eminem and Jay Z. Details of his new position at Apple are yet to be specified. Irish DJ Mac will continue to host the station's flagship dance show on Friday evenings, but has handed over her Sunday evening show, Musical Hot Water Bottle, to Phil Taggart. He will also continue to host his Thursday evening future music show on the network. Confirming the news in a statement, Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper said: "Annie has proven she is a great ambassador for new music, and I’m delighted that she’s bringing her passion and knowledge to young audiences across the week. I’d like to thank Zane for 12 wonderful years at Radio 1, and wish him and his family all the very best." Meanwhile, Annie Mac added that she is "humbled and excited" to be taking control of the evening show. "The thing I love about music radio is those private epiphanies it provides. Having 11 hours of airtime a week to share those moments with music that has no boundaries, is beyond a job, it’s a privilege. And to be following in the footsteps of Zane Lowe, a broadcaster that I respect and admire enormously, is a huge honour. I can’t wait to get started." As well as being a radio DJ, Annie Mac is also a club DJ and hosts Annie Mac Presents events around the world. Later this year she will also host her own festival, Lost & Found, in Malta. http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/82900?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=zane
