  1. boston Not to be a worrier here :\, but I've been snooping around for tix and I noticed that StubHub and those other ticket places have seats in the first 3 sections that claim to go out as far as "Row 9, 10, 11, 12". Originally I thought it was because the tickets weren't legit, but now I'm starting to wonder...there's at least several up for sale like that. Hmmm... I thought that sections A,B,C only have 7 rows.... Can anyone confirm the seating for the show? (I don't really see why they would change it from last time)
  2. Coldplay Books! Martin Roach's book was very well written. I thought it was the best of all of the books. He has so much music industry insight to give and he even describes some of the alternate tunings (like the one for "Yellow"!) He focuses on all of the members and describes each of the songs on the albums, (excluding the more recent X&Y and VLV). Although he disses "High Speed"... :annoyed: Gary Spivack's book was decent. Agreed that the mispellings were often annoying :dozey: But he makes up for that with Lovely photographs. The closing part finishes on an endearing note about a personal experience with Chris. Phil O'Brien's book was the most up-to-date of all 3. She writes with a unique style that had me laughing through many parts. (Her descriptions of Chris' faces were classic!) She tends to incorporate a lot of Chris' personal life towards the end - when the tabloids started pushing him around. This was a downfall since I wanted her to sidestep that area and stick with the band more. But she does have a lot of juicy quotes I'd never read before and she very specifically details the gigs they played. At one point, she even describes (almost road by road) how to get to one of the pubs they played in London! :shocked2:
  3. roadies, equipment, coldplay, oh my! ^ yay! I'm not (going crazy) alone then! thanks for the reassurance! :)

  5. ^ It amazes me too how many tickets those places scoop up! oh man... that stinks that you overslept. :( I set my CLOCKS and was up at like the crack of dawn waiting for 10AM to come. but I had trouble going to sleep the night before.... (was so EXCITED) Hope you have better luck with the other places. GA isn't on sale 'til tomorrow, but DC already is.
  6. roadies ^ I know! So cool! It's a long excerpt too which is nice :dozey: From the link Jizo posted: http://www.showmehowtoplay.com/featu...h_Matt_mcginn/ How often do you change Jon’s strings? “I do the main Thinline Tele every single show. The others are done about every four shows. Fortunately Jonny breaks strings vary rarely - only about four or five strings in the last three years. Chris however is a really hard hitting player who throws it about a bit and his tech is constantly changing strings.” ^ Whoah! Didn't know that Chris busts his strings that much! well.... he did have something go wrong with one of his acoustic guitars in Boston at the end of "Violet Hill". He really makes his Roadie work... poor Hoppy! Is it weird that I like learning about all these little Roadie/band/equipment nuances ?

  12. Matt's memoirs... August 15, 2008 4:10 pm An excerpt from a Coldplay roadie's book ---------------------------- ^ Awwww  I really enjoyed reading his memoir. His descriptions of Chris are priceless :laugh3: Thanks Matt! :) "And Jonny, who had – and has – an even friendlier face than all the others put together, stood out for me by finding most things I said quite funny." :D

  14. HOLY COW!!! Check out bloody StubHub! They have 5 freakin' pages of tickets!!! :o I think they bought ALL of the tickets for god's sake! Although, hahaha, they have Section A, Row 12... ummm yeah.. $9 billion dollars... no thanks. http://www.stubhub.com/coldplay-tickets/coldplay-boston-td-banknorth-garden-10-29-2008-696508/ oh yeesh, and there's like 800 tickets for sale on ticketsnow.com http://www.ticketsnow.com/InventoryBrowse/TicketList.aspx?PID=695672 These places are ridiculous!
  15. oracle mystery August 15, 2008 - submitted by Tyler Ham, United Kingdom Q. When experiencing writer's block (from a song lyricist's point of view), what's the best way to overcome it? The Oracle replies: I'm afraid the Oracle doesn't believe in writer's block. I just think you have nothing to say. Don't force it, wait for the lyrics to come. ^ It's a stretch I know.... But that sounds like Chris. It probably isn't one of the band members because... well honestly, do you think they'd have enough time to be the Oracle!? They're busy boys!
  16. attempt at boston tix... ^ Yeah, because about a million ruddy ticket brokers and people who just want to make a profit scarf up all the good seats before the TRUE REAL fans can get a chance to see them.... And when they do see them, they're going for 3 x's the original price.. The best i got for floor was Floor H, row 6... And Loge 10, row 9.... WHOAH WAIT!!! HOW THE CRAP DID YOU GET FLOOR E!!!!!????? :shocked2: All I get now is balcony... which is not good... Now Ticketmaster has Loge 20!
  17. ^ I know!!! The tension builds!!! :shocked2: Good Luck everyone! Hmmmm...so there's no Best Buy presale thing? or any of that stuff?
  18. Boston! ^ OH YEAH!!!! By the way, kellykell9 you're lucky you already got your seats! :P just curious, but what section are they in? I still have to wait for the general presale like everyone else.. *crosses fingers for tomorrow :bomb:
  19. Chris Jonny resemblance! Is it just me or does Chris really resemble Jonny in this last pic!??
  20. oracle suspicions Well since Debs actually has the time to answer the problemo questions, then she must have quite a bit of free time on her hands... so maybe she does pop by once and awhile... :laugh3: and have a long good laugh at the hilarious rampant obsessiveness of us coldplayers.
  21. oracle session ^ Totally agree with you Chavi. At least this session is less like a therapy session and more like an important-Coldplay-questions session! :dozey: Hmmmm.... "I want it to be a surprise rather than tell you." That sounds interesting, maybe we (well... European fans) can expect some Bsides or older material played live :wink3: maybe, maybe...
  22. hmmm... this page # is the year of Chris (and Jonny's) birth! :shocked2:
  23. News Update Newsreel: MTV VMAs August 13, 2008 11:46 am Let the voting commence Good morning. It has been brought to our attention that the public voting for the 2008 Music Television Video Music Awards is underway. You may now cast your vote for Best Rock Video, Best UK Video and Video Of The Year - all of which feature Coldplay in the list of nominations. Curiously, however, the band have been excluded from the Best Dancing In A Video category. Anchorman ^ I think he's quite funny! :P (sometimes.... hehe) And he's correct in subtly pointing out that they should have been nominated for best dancing in a video. Even though Chris said on the Today Show: "Our dancing is more about enthusiasm than talent!" :)

  25. Distributed at the show, usually to the people in the balcony/nosebleed sections.
