Simon Pegg on Bostons ZLX this morning
simon pegg boston radio OH NO!!! I can't believe they said that to him!!! :shocked2: That's so Mean!!! I missed it this morning, but you can listen on the station's website. http://www.wzlx.com/ It's under the section on the left titled "K&M Audio" Simon doesn't seem too bothered by the comment though. I think he tries to shrug it off. Good for him! Don't let the radio announcer get to you! *sigh* this makes Boston people seem a bit rude..... (well, it makes Boston radio announcers seem rude. Hopefully Simon doesn't judge other Boston/New England people because of that radio announcer)

^^ Yup stephanbass, Jonny plays it in drop D tuning. It could be played either way. Probably is easier in drop D because then the notes on both strings are on the same fret. example: so instead of A--11 E-- 9 it would be A--11 E--11 but you already knew that....:P To Tnspieler1012 , I saw some videos were he plays the 5th string also (I think), not just the bass note. but yeah, it's whichever way you prefer.

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
oracle problems ^ Nah. S/he is just pulling our legs I bet. The Oracle can say anything it wants to. I bet that the Oracle is just some lonely lass/chap who wishes s/he had half as much attention as the band gets. So s/he has devoted him/herself to answering pointless questions... The Oracle doesn't answer good questions because s/he either doesn't know the answers, :smug: Or s/he fears that us Coldplayers will become too knowledgable about the band, moreso than the Oracle. So s/he vows to not tell us any goodies that could ruin his/her position as the band's official know-it-all/smartie pants. That's my philosophy on the Oracle anyway....it's probably completely wrong, but oh well. Definition of Oracle: A person considered to be a source of wise counsel or prophetic opinions. (Obviously the Oracle thinks very highly of him/herself) :P Oh, sweet that Coldplaying.com was mentioned by the Oracle though.

^ Well I'm a female (a.k.a. shorter fingers than males) and I can use my thumb without muting other strings. I think it's just more practice you need. Keep trying and eventually your hand/fingers should loosen up. It took my hand at least a month or so of playing practically EVERYDAY to loosen up enough to use my thumb. Hmmm.. and what's the radius of your guitar's neck? Some guitars have slightly wider necks than others which could make it harder to put your hand around. ^ Thanks again. :) Wow, I can't believe how many effects that one Boss pedal has! :shocked2: I thought the Line 6 DL-4 had a lot, but wow! Meh!? A Thinline by October!? You lucky duck!

coldplay boston GPASUYF mystery ^ hehe, no your singing doesn't make it difficult to hear, it's you and the 14,999 other people singing that makes it difficult. Gah! I must figure this out!! (guess i obsess WAY TOO MUCH about all things Coldplay :P) Oooh, I listened again and still hear "WITS" or something like that... Surely someone can tell what he's saying???

coldplay boston lyrics mystery ^^^ Yeah, I agree about the 2nd part. But the 1st part ???? ARGH! "God gave me style and ____ ____ _____ (3 syllables) , God bring me down to Massachuuuuusetts." Possible words: bliss, rest, Possible two words: number wits (that's what i hear, but how does that make sense??), I listened to your vid Mike too, but still cannot tell what Chris' saying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsF8qDJbJhE

Coldplay dancing
THE DANCE THREAD!   Coldplay "LOST!" @ Today Show June 27th, 2008. Chris: "Our dancing is more about enthusiasm than talent" :P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXyDAsJZB6w Coldplay "LOST!" @ BBC Chris" I can't dance but I'm enthusiastic (pulls a freaky wide-eyed face)... That's the best thing!" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGXRq4Uky4k Hey, speaking of dancing, has anyone noticed Chris' new dance moves during the bridge of "Fix You"? He crouches down or stumbles around clutching his head (as if he's hurt) and then simply explodes when Will's drums come in. Then he looks as if he's having a seizure every time Will bashes the hi-hats. He tosses himself around "like a puppet (on a lonely string)." He's quite hilarious :laugh3:

Coldplay Boston Lyrics Improv. Mystery Ok, this has been really bugging me for awhile now.... I've been (VERY HAPPILY) watching Vids from the AMAZING Boston show, and am soaking up everything Chris said, because a lot of it is extremely funny/clever. However, I cannot decipher what exactly Chris' saying between 3:44 - 3:56 of God Put A Smile Upon Your Face... All I can pick out is: "God gave me style and ______ . ___ ____ ____ ____ to Massachuuuuusetts." Anyone know what he said exactly? :inquisitive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yg1V1-Aj7hs

Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
down with the oracle Not to be a downer, but I tried that Q ages ago... but maybe you'll have better luck. But I subsequently found that Guy uses a Leica camera - without the "Help" of the Oracle :smug: Although I'd still like to know what he's going to do with all of those pics. :inquisitive:

^ Oh man, Muse Rock!!! Bellamy has some really top-notch effects and guitar playing skills. J'adore their song "Map of the Problematique" Have you tried playing "Knights of Cydonia"? (well you must have, both tremolo picking and the whammy bar are used) Sooooo much fun! :guitarist: Thanks a ton for your advice! Seriously! I'm gonna go check out some less expensive Fender amps, like the Frontman 212. And I can't wait to try out some more Boss pedals with multiple effects. I was looking at some via Internet... and there's SOOO many cool features! :shocked2: The Line 6 dl-4 looks interesting too, although I keep finding complaints that it's not "tough enough". Meh, the effects sound really nifty. yeah.... I'll have to dish out the big bucks for the Thinline...

trouble I tabbed this out awhile ago... Hope it helps you! Oh, and for the Album version of the chorus, I think he's arpeggiating Amajor and Eminor chords... not positive on that though. Instruments! Wow! Everyone's got great equipment....:shocked2: All I've got is: - Squier Telecaster Custom - of which i painted the pickguard. It's a pretty good guitar for a cheap price. - crappy little Peavey amp (saving up for a Fender Hot Rod :dozey:) - Casio LK-43 keyboard (it doesn't even have weighted keys .... so I play it through my amp with the pedal... which sounds mildly better...) - Boss Rv-3 Pedal It's such a good pedal! Sounds absolutely lovely! I can see why Jonny has one. My house isn't that big (nor is my amp) but the atmosphere that comes out this pedal is AMAZING! Feels like you're in a bloody concert hall!!! If $ wasn't an issue, I'd get more pedals, a WAY better amp, and a Fender Telecaster (probably Thinline). I tried one out in the store and it was AMAZING! The neck was smooth like butter and so easy to play. And the sound was great - could go from twangy to roaring. *drools* I've tried "Strats", but never really hit it off. I don't know...they're just too airy and whiney. I find that Tele's have more meat on them, physically and soundwise. But it's all based on personal preference really. *sigh* If only there wasn't the problem of $...... GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE! Keep playing!

Xfm Residency
^ Oooooh. I see now. Hmph...that's very mean of a Mac! How could it not let you listen to Coldplay!!!!??? Well, hopefully Denise or another kind soul else will share the show. If I could, I would..... (stupid complicated ripping things)

Xfm Residency
xfm residency - part 3 ^ haha, yeah it's just too intense for radiowaves :D Love you sig by the way! Classic! --------------------------------------- Sorry I don't have the radio rip. But it's listenable now...try the Coldplay.com link station's website. Hahaha, oh man, they call Will up and he claims he has "important business to do". :shocked2: There's some people in the background. sounds like a child, maybe he has to change diapers. Oh, and then Chris has fun with the BLEEP-out-swears feature :laugh3:

29-Oct-08: Boston - TD Banknorth Garden - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
^ Be careful of those StubHub tickets. I'm not sure if they are REAL seats. Last time Coldplay played at the Garden, sections A,B, and C only had 7 Rows (I think). And last time there were people on StubHub claiming to have tickets in those sections for Rows 9, 10, etc. :\ So if the seating hasn't changed from the August 4th show, then those are definitely fake tickets. And I agree with Collee, they most likely went to radio stations. A bunch of stations were/are having contests to win tickets. Also, some of those sweet seats are held and then the roadies for Coldplay hand them out to people in the Balcony sections before the show! EDIT: Actually, I think there were 10 rows in sections A,B,C. I just found a picture and counted at least 10 rows. Nevertheless, I'm going to contact TD Banknorth about the number of seat rows.

29-Oct-08: Boston - TD Banknorth Garden - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
^ It wasn't Matthew Miller (Roadie #42) by any chance was it? Because based on his blog, he often goes to the balcony seats to hand out tickets for the first 5 rows. I saw him on the stage that night, albeit briefly during the set-up for coldplay, and then I didn't see him AT ALL the rest of the time. I figured he'd gone to do his balcony ticket hand-out run... EDIT: Thanks Collee for that info. So Miller has some accomplices! :inquisitive:
