Post a pic of your pet
 I really like pets. I have to control myself to not go 'Awwwwwwwwwwww' whenever someone posts a pic. She's lovely :nice: That's a very beautiful dog. In that picture he looks like a dog super model :nice:

2012 JUNO Awards: Coldplay nominated for International Album of the Year
Thanks Tash and Coeurli for the info :) I do understand :) I was saying that I just sometimes find awards a bit arbitrary. Though in a French award it does make sense to put the likes of Coldplay and LMFAO under the same category (international artist of the year), it is bit weird, isn't it? I'm not saying there should be a category dedicated solely to the almighty Coldplay, but I guess they are better artists than LMFAO.

Coldplay Record Store Day Vinyl: Up With The Birds/U.F.O.
No problem :D I just googled 'Coldplay' and the artists I remembered took part in the event (Snow Patrol, Hugh Laurie, Gaga etc). I wished I had a good memory though :disappointed:

It was Children in Need :)

Crests of Daylight/Glacial Fox/Crests, Foaming at the Mouth
Kanji would be the graphemes derived from Chinese writing, is this correct? I think it just takes a while to get used to them and some patience and dedication to learn the order of strokes. It's difficult, but not impossible I guess. edit: I should point out that I know nothing about kanji. I hope I didn't sound like Chinese writing and Japanese writing are the same thing.

2012 JUNO Awards: Coldplay nominated for International Album of the Year
:laugh3: That's a bit weird. I haven't visited the forum decently for a while, so sorry if I'm asking this question for sheer lack of info: was this like 'best international band'? Because it wouldn't make sense to include Coldplay and LMFAO in the same category, would it? I know that Coldplay, with MX, proved that genre is just a matter of posterior categorisation that shouldn't prevent people from experimenting and creating new music or whatever an artist wants to create. Still, it's a bit odd to have both bands at the same category. Even if it weren't, how can LMFAO be a better band than Coldplay?

The cancer that is killing The Lounge
I think unwinding is a valid and good reason to come to a forum. It doesn't entail, on the other hand, disregarding what other people feel or think. Having fun and/or discussing more substantial things*, on my view, shouldn't be dissociated with caring about others and ultimately the maintenance of the forum. This is basically one of the arguments discussed here: that's no problem about joking and stuff. However, it shouldn't be taken for granted that people won't be affected (sometimes negatively) by it. *Btw, I'm very late on that (I didn't manage to decently read the thread until now), but sorry for saying things (so called 'loungers' saying this isn't a place for seriousness) without actually having basis for that. Same goes for the claim that someone in the Coldplay section said that the lounge would be a dangerous place. I should've just said that I don't visit every thread there and nothing like that had come to my attention instead of bitching about it. Apologies for the inapropriateness of my post. Also, because of a very bad choice of words, I think I gave the impression that I intended to discuss the issue of lack of respect and consideration when discussing Coldplay. It was just an example though - being inconsiderate at others is bad whatever section it is, but here is not the place to talk about the Coldplay section specifically.

When it comes to having unknown guests at your household, what is your reaction?
 I'd say half (d) (I say 'hi' to people) and then half (a) (people know where I'd be so it's not really hiding). My social skills are unfortunately null :disappointed:

i´m not sure what to call this thread
What I reallt don't understand is people putting make up on inside the effing bus. When I see a girl doing it, I always get the weird idea she will end up hurting herself the next time the driver turns left or right. Worst of all was a woman putting (I have no idea what the right vocabulary for this is, sorry) nail polish on and basically none of the windows were down. Nail polish can have a pretty bad smell and (I don't know if I'll come across as a boring person but that's true) I can get a headache because of it. I'm having a week off school because of easter. I'll just catch up on things I should've finished ages ago.

The cancer that is killing The Lounge
I didn't mean that. If you take a look at the thread, the word was used at least once. And it's not me saying "them" (Coldplay section) vs. "us" (Lounge section). This is what I mean by gratuitous offending. And I said 'and shit' because I find it nonsensical to say such thing (don't be serious on the lounge). No offense intended. I didn't mean to say people who tend to post more in the lounge were some kind of species or anything, still you have to use this kind of terms.
-
The cancer that is killing The Lounge
As far as I know, no. I think people who talk about the lounge are loungers themselves, with all the 'no serious stuff allowed' and shit.

The cancer that is killing The Lounge
I second what you said too.

The Kewl Cats Thread
Oh, your cats have a very interesting look (by 'interesting' I don't mean 'odd' or something, it's just that I don't think I have seen cats like that)! I wish I had a cat, but my parents (nor anyone in the family) wouldn't allow me.

The cancer that is killing The Lounge
Indeed. I don't usually come to the lounge, so I don't actually have of sense what it was before and what it is now. However, what I can indeed sense, not only here, but also elsewhere (Coldplay section, parts of WoM section) is that some people are mistaking sarcasm for being downright rude. There is no thin line between them, if you ask me. Some people speak as if they were the brightest people walking on Earth and regard others as morons, as if everybody is a fangirl (why is it that people only talk about girls anyway?) incapable of rational thinking. Also, specially in the lounge, sometimes people just starting dissing others for fuc**** nothing. It's bad enough when you do have a reason to be pissed and is unintentionally rude to other people, but seriously, doing this out of the blue and gratuitously? Anyway, I think it was a nice idea to create the thread. It's not really effective action to change the current state-of-affairs, but at least it should raise some awareness.

American Express - Coldplay interview
Thanks a lot Comicforce and Tash for posting it! Will Champion for the fu***** win, man! :laugh3: Edit: Oh yes, thank you Shira for posting. Sowwy :disappointed:

Serious Question!
I think Lory is just expressing what she thinks. Even if she wasn't, there is no reason to diss people in the forum, you know. Sorry I can't help with the thread question and still post here. I just think it's annoying that people think they can whatever they want irregardless of other's feelings. Yes, you can now post stuff dissing my rant if you want.

PoC video
I think we going a bit too far, you know? Because all we've seen is pictures of actors whose costumes and etc seem to be indeed Japanese-related. But: First of all, it's just pictures outside of the actual set. Second, we haven't seen it all: who knows what else may come in the video that wasn't pictured in the photos we've seen? Yes, I know anything non-Chinese-related and anything that resembles some Asian-stereotypical stuff is highly suspicious. Still, it is not information fundamental enough for us to make a fuss about it. No offense intended at anyone. I'm just saying that we are better off just keeping calm before actually checking the video :)

PoC video
I don't know if she is, all I know is that her live singing performance is not great, to say the least. It's a shame 'cause her voice in the PoC recording is very pretty.

The official **KEANE** thread
Thanks for posting this and all the other videos! I don't know what was done to that video, but the sound is indeed great and Tom's voice is just  I'm very excited to get the new album. Starting Line is such a beautiful and moving song. From all the ones I've listened to (this plus Silenced by the night and Disconnected), that's my favourite.

PoC video
Thanks for the info, Tash :) I think we waited quite a lot for Paradise if we consider the first video with the Brazilian model, which was discarded. We only got Paradise (elephant version) quite fast because they were late. But indeed, it would be cool to have the PoC video to see if our general speculations are wrong or if they indeed lost their judgment sense on this video.
-
Are you excited about The "Princess Of China Music" Video?
Agreed :\ Are you talking about the festivals prior to the release? I, on the other hand, think it was a good move. (Though I wish they changed the setlist a bit and included more new songs. Let's see what they do when the next leg of the tour kicks off.) As for PoC, I'm more curious to see the final outcome (only then can we evaluate it and decide if we like it or not) than excited. I have to admit though that I'm quite scared of the pics (at the same time, it's just a bunch of pics, however weird they are).

PoC video
No, there is no need for lyrics and video to perfectly match. Still, it would make more sense, if you try to make a video with a story (unlike the Shiver video, where the band is just performing the song), that the video, somehow, matches the abstract concept of the song. I'm saying it's more reasonable, I'm not saying this a rule. Besides, if it is boring or not, that's another question I do get your point, thank you, it just doesn't mean I have to agree with you or you have to agree with me. That's the whole point of a forum: debate and contrast ideas without things getting overheated.
-
PoC video
I think whatever the form/external appearance (elephant costume, giraffe costume or whatever costume) is, the Paradise video fits the concept behind the song (basically, the sense of feeling hopeless and misplaced and sudenly finding your paradise, your own source of solace - that's what happens to the elephant; it could be a bloody giraffe, the core idea would still be the same). The question is, as far I as understand the matter, is how these people in the pictures fit in in a song called 'Princess of China' and in the overall idea of the album.

Bands?
I didn't know that. Which ones? Btw, if want a tip, you could try first the first two albuns from Editors. Their third and last one is a bit 'what?!' at first (at least, it was for me). Same goes for Keane, in my opinion.

Crests of Daylight/Glacial Fox/Crests, Foaming at the Mouth
There was a question and I tried to answer it. I hope there is nothing wrong about it in a forum open to discussion.
