OK My story. First off the Taping. I didn't win. Didn't have a ticket but got VIP escorted to the first row. Have you ever heard the expression, if you can't dazzle them with your brilliance, then baffle them with your bullshit? Yeah, that's me. I totally bullshitted my way into the show. Once in, I met up with Franksie first. He was walking about. We talked about last time they played how it was so hot at the festival right after the hurricane and I told him how I was at their show in Dallas when the storm hit my house and a tree fell on it. Coldplay literally saved my life. :P Next out was Phil I think. Talked to him for a bit. Then I saw Vicki and she came over and we talked for a while. She left and then came back with a prezzie. A singed poster for me. :awesome: Mike begs her to get the poster he bought signed and she did it! This woman has the coolest job in the world and is just sweeter than sugar! The volunteers passed out the Icon t-shirts and told us when to put them on. We were so close. The sound in this venue is absolutely amazing. (Even up in the balcony for the Arcade Fire show, best sound system in a venue EVA!) When they lowered the as R#42 so apply described it, "neon space junk" back drop, Gwyneth came out to see it. She tried to muscle Mike off his spot, but he wasn't giving up his space. :angry: :laugh3:

Yeah he climbed and hung upside down last time. The heat makes him loco :lol: I was laughing so hard I couldn't get my phone out to shoot it fast enough. He ran back and was looking for something to do, then decided on the climb. Mike got some good pics. I'll ask him to post them here. There was NO security. None. Zero. Zip! We could have easily went through the opening in the barrier for the roadies and grabbed him. Ha Kelly would have swooped and beat the shit out of us, but we would have captured Chrissy for a bit. :P

He climbed the rigging right in front of me. He dropped at least 8 feet when he jumped off. I shot some video and mike got some great pics.

Just got back from their ACL TV taping. The sound system in this venue is outstandind! Will was insane! They have fake trees at the back of their set. Will pulled one out and used it to beat the drum. Ha.

It's my birthday that day. So we may have to have cake while we wait.

the show was taped as the new years eve special. So we all pretended it was new years eve and had a count down to midnight. So we all "time traveled " to December 31st. Only Chris kept forgetting and talked about the heat. Oops! :lol: Edit: please don't still be 100+ degrees every day at Christmas! :bigcry:

He was totally soaked in sweat so I'm sure he was slippery as hell. Mike said "his calves are wet. How does some one even sweat on their calves?" :lol:

You're so bossy for a boss man :p Phil asked if I had heard much of the new stuff and what did I think. I told him I had seen them at Lolla and watched a few of the web casts and that I really liked the new stuff. This took place before the ACL TV taping. Dan and I got to talk longer at the festival. I told him I really loved the live version they played at the taping and that I preferred it to the LP version. Also talked about how it is kinda wierd to hear almost all the album before it is released. I said its been like a slow live leak. He laughed and said " well there's still a few songs you haven't heard". Then we talked about some other stuff that's none of your business bossybeeburns! :snobby:

I shot some video of chris' crazy rig climbing adventure. There was NO security back there. And an opening in the baracade so roadies could get in and out. We could have easily slipped in and chased him around. :sneaky:

Thought Chris sounded like he might be getting sick at the festival. Live version sounded amazing at the taping. I like the live version more. Oh and both Phil and Dan Green asked me what I thought about the new stuff, and about Paradise specifically. I think Phil's been reading the board.

I'll have reviews and pics after I get home. Off to the festival today. Arcade Fire taping tomorrow, then last night of festival on Sunday.

They gave out brightly colored shirts with the song icons on them and had us put them on for the "new years eve" party count down. I got the mixx wand on mine :wacko: and Mike got the eye on his.

It was really cool. They also put colored tape all around the venue on the steps and railings. That plus all the t shirts they gave out made the whole place a living jumping black light poster. :awesome:

It was awesome! We were in front row by jonny. Before show I talked with Franksie. Then Phil. Then Vickie came over to say hi. She left and came back with a signed poster for me. :awesome: Gwyneth came out toward the end and was standing by mike.

I hope NBC gives Ian some vip tickets again.

Mike missed his flight this morning but is now on the plane and holy fucking shit the arcade fire are the plane with him!
