Yeah I lived in Filton, me and Hicksy lived there for 2 years, I'd been in Horfield for my other 2 years while at Uni. The Filton runway is the longest I believe in europe, and that's why they tested concorde from there first...what with the RR factory just over the other side of the A38...my uni friend was on his placement year at EDS that used RR facilities and he said it was deafening when it came in overhead to land... Beautiful thing :)
  8. Germany has way cool cheeses, you get cheese with Chili in it, or cheese with bacon bits in it, its GREAT!!!!!
  9. he's trying to emulate Christ, who according the bible fasted in the desert for 40 days and 40 nights (Hence we get Lent) before easter...tho David is doing it for 44 days and nights, so if he succeeds we have a second coming :P
  10. Ali G in the house, I still want those 90 minutes of my life back Hicksy for forcing me to watch that :P The Babysitter with Alicia Silverstone, erm wtf was going on. Mulholland Falls (not to be confused with Mulholland Drive) featured I think Nick Nolte, and was SHITE!

  12. well he will either succeed or die trying, either way it will be good TV

In US Schedule = shed-ule In UK schedule = sked-ule i think thats the way round it goes UK speech is geting warped due to programs like friends....for example i now say harrass, like an american, but in UK it's pronounced Harris, but still spelt harrass :/
  17. I liked washington, was just amazed how quiet it was for the capital city of the US...after experiencing London :/
  18. DoogieJ replied to CityandColour's topic in The Lounge
omg i forgot that one in UK "im gonna smoke a fag" = Im going to smoke a cigarette in US "im gonna smoke a fag" = Im going to shoot a gay man lol that always cracks me up we call it fags yes, it comes from medieval times, in the south west of England there are pete bogs (dead vegitation rotting causing natural fertiliser) and medieval people used to dry out weeds from these bogs and smoke them (this is before tobacco was introduced in the UK) the names of these weeds, it was vag...vag got warped through time to become fag, and thats why we still use it today :)

  21. I stayed for 4 months in Landenburg PA (aka Bumblefuck nowhere land) Southeast PA near Delaware (woooo Delaware ) Spent 1 weekend in Philadelphia, took off and landed erm 8 times from Philadelphia. Spent one week in Washington/Fort Meade area, Washington has to be the quietest capital city ever...spent 2 months in Fort Myers FL... So thats everywhere I've been Oh I drove from Landenburg to Fort Myers (1200+ miles) down the I95, so I guess I saw all the states inbetween too...West Virginia, Maryland, Georgia, erm some others lol

favour through crisp = foil packaged, chips = in newspaper covered in salt and vinegar :) lol fanny in UK is rude :D armour tonight why do you park on driveways but drive on parkways? UK and US, two countries divided by a common language
  23. You know, I think DrP wiping the coldplay photos from the V Festival off his digicam by mistake did something to his head :(
  24. Yeah I liked the US when I visited :) It's a cool place and I'd like to spend a year or so there at some point in my life if I can, just with the UK/US visa bullshit, it's practically impossible...you'd think the US and UK would be more warmly open with each other considering what both our countries have gone through side by side the last few years. *shrug* :( Oh and the 300 year old question reminded me of an Eddie Izzard sketch moment in one of his live shows, went something like this (copywrite Mr Eddie Izzard) "So I was in San Francisco, and they were celebrating the rennovation of an old house to what it looked like 50 years ago, and people were milling around saying things like 'Unbelievable, no-one can possible know what it looked like then, no-one existed'" Culture :P
  25. yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy, Jessy says congo rats too :D
